"this is an excellent airport"
Thomas Johnston (United Kingdom)
Very nice airport but perhaps only when you are flying business class going by some of the other reviews so my review is based on being a business class passenger. The airport is huge, depending on where you leave your flight you could have quite a long walk to the main area containing the duty free shops and lounges. I rarely bother with duty free but there seems to be a good varied choice on offer. I'm very happy that they seem to have done away with the bus transfer from the plane to the terminal. The airport seems to have been designed with the new generation of large aircraft's in mind such as the Airbus A380 as some departure gates have a separate check-in from business class with access to an upstairs lounge are allowing your to board directly into the business cabin on the upper deck. All in all I think this is an excellent airport now that they've gotten over the teething problems, superb business class lounge and really fine friendly staff, I don't thing I've been to any other airport that has some many staff who's only functions seems to be to help passengers.

"queues for passport control were horrendous"
1 reviews Samira Razaq (United Kingdom)
Went to Qatar for a family holiday with 2 young children. Reached Doha airport after a long flight from Manchester to Dubai with a change over at Dubai to Doha. At Doha, the queues for passport control were horrendous, finally reached the counter for passport control where the immigration staff were extremely rude, clearly lacked customer care skills and professionalism. Will certainly not be going back there again.

"found it hard to relax"
3 reviews Rebecca Hudson (United Kingdom)
Disappointed with the amount of comfy seats. I had 6 hours to wait and found it hard to relax. Only sleeping area I found was next to children playing. Duty free spread out. Go to the main hub only if you can, couldn't find anything like clarins or face creams. Transferring to another flight the security is very messy and slow, allow a good 30 mins to get through.

Hamad Doha Airport customer review
3 reviews Michael Beer (Austria)
Arrived after a 6 hour flight, standing with approx. 250 passengers in queue for security screening. Only 3 belts were open. Impossible to find out the departure gate on the permanently moving screen. Customer service not available, WiFi not working. We walked exaxtly 12 minutes to the gate. And then, at 40 degrees, 6 minutes by bus.

"a bit on the cold side"
Loay Osman (United Arab Emirates)
First time to travel through new Doha Airport Hamad International, all in all a nice decent airport, had to walk a bit from the gate to the arrivals customs. Very clean, however a bit dark even during day light, and a bit on the cold side. Gates waiting area doesn't have washrooms, had to go out of the gate to go to the nearest toilet. Needs more F&B outlets.

"airport staff extremely friendly and hospitable"
Azmol Hussain (United Kingdom)
Fantastic airport. Brand new, looks beautiful and has amazing facilities to rival Dubai international airport. Airport staff extremely friendly and hospitable, took time to ask questions of my experience and whether it was my first time at Doha. Purchased duty free fragrance which you can only exclusively buy there. On boarding my connecting flight I was upgraded for free to business on Qatar Airways. A fantastic experience and the airport itself is five stars to match the airline.

Very much overrated. Security good though. Fast and not very thorough. Lack of seating options near our gate.

Hamad Doha Airport customer review
3 reviews Michael Beer (Austria)
On arrival we had to board at 36C a bus which took about 7 minutes to the arrival building. Although there were about 200 passengers in queue there were only 3 screening belts open. The flight information board had small letters and were permanently changing. Many passengers were standing like fools in front of it, because they could not catch the right information. The WiFi had a snail speed. After a 15 minute walk we arrived at E. Then the same bus trip to the airplane for Vienna. If this is supposed to be a No.1 airport I can only say not for us.

Hamad Doha Airport customer review
Thahab Nader (Qatar)
I wish Hamad international airport had more restaurants and cafés for travellers to choose, now there is not enough selections and it's too crowded in food area. The airport is so clean and bright and comfortable for the travellers.
