Hamad Doha Airport

Not Verified | I experienced the old Doha Airport and was excited as I've heard so many good things about Hamad Int'l Airport but I was really disappointed. The airport is huge with confusing signs, crowds everywhere and very dark at night. The worst is, as was the case with the old airport, the bus gates. Even large Qatar Airways planes are parked miles away from the terminal building and it takes ages to get from and to the aircraft. With a transit time of 1 1/2 hours we thought we have more than enough time but after the bus trip and the (unnecessary) security check, we barely managed to get to the gate on time for them to already become bitchy to customers just so that we lock us in a closed off area for 45 minutes without a toilet or any place to buy water, etc. That airport is already overwhelmed as it is so good luck when they get even more passengers.

✅ Trip Verified | I had a bad experience here in this airport while I was in transit. I was traveling to Washington DC from Dhaka, Bangladesh. This airport is a large airport with all the facilities, though due to the mismanagement of Qatar Airways I had to wait there for 11 hours in a very cold area of the airport. This airport has a very bad and sluggish security system. Airport staffs are unfriendly.

✅ Trip Verified | The airport transit was a decent experience but there were some points that need to be mentioned. We were given an Iftar pack on the flight but on arrival in Doha we were asked to dispose the water and the yogurt drink that were supplied on the flight. There should be some flexibility for travelling passengers and some steps to prevent such wastage of drinking water. Security check was long and tedious but the staff were nice. Also 9 QR for a bottle of water? That is daylight robbery.

Not Verified | It is clean, modern and spacious. The efficiency of security checks is high. Employees are helpful and polite. Signposts are clear. The WiFi connection is stable.

Not Verified | I have to say Hamad airport has definitely changed in a good way. I can really see the changes. The garden has made a lovely environmental atmosphere and all the duty free shops are still world class. I will go again in may 2024. I was transiting here on my way to Kochi from Manchester. It is really amazing. The staff are extremely friendly and the ambience is amazing too.

✅ Trip Verified | What a huge airport and bigger every time. Business class security fast. Found lounge but couldn’t get there, there were hundreds of people trying to get in the wrong lounge. Straight to restaurant to meet colleague and as allowed champagne nice meal and then straight to gate.

✅ Trip Verified | Completely overrated airport. The signage is not very intuitive or clear especially with regards to where the trams between gates are located and what direction they're going. The gates are designed so that you're unable to exit once you enter. Also, the gates have no bathrooms in them. The shopping is your typical duty free shops and designer stores. Nothing in this airport is designed with passenger comfort in mind. Also, we had to go through security again after arriving with a short connection. Barely had enough to make our connecting flight.

Not Verified | The airport has become overwhelmed. I arrived early and on a Qatar flight to be told (by a somewhat robotic ground staff) that my layover would be 6 hours instead of one. I was promised a voucher ("show your boarding pass at the food court") - but the voucher had never been activated. "Go back to the transit desk!" I couldn't be bothered at this point.

Not Verified |   The airport boasts modern facilities with sleek architecture, ample seating areas, and a wide array of shopping and dining options. The terminal is spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment for passengers during their layovers. The airport's efficiency in handling flights and baggage is commendable, with generally short wait times at security and immigration checkpoints. However, some travelers may find navigating the airport complex confusing, particularly during peak hours when it can get crowded. Signage could be improved to provide clearer directions to gates, facilities. The shopping and dining choices are abundant, prices tend to be on the higher side. Wi-Fi can be unreliable in certain areas of the terminal,

✅ Trip Verified | You're not allowed to sit at some gates till the boarding time. Your bags are scanned to enter gates for US flights and there's no vending machines inside. The WiFi is slower than my provider's 2G data and there are no outlets. If you're lucky enough to find an outlet, it may not be a universal outlet. The only saving grace is the newness and sleek design.
