Emirates customer review

We have just had four flights with Emirates Gatwick /Dubai/Singapore Beijing/Dubai/Gatwick on all four flights I could not fault the cabin staff they worked very hard frequently coming round with water. The food was typical airline food re-heating an omelette is not a good idea but the warm croissants a nice touch. The seats on the air bus are very comfortable and had plenty of legroom. We had a query before our first flight with regard to seats and customer services were most helpful and resolved the situation. It was a long tiring trip made bearable by Ice the wonderful entertainment system. We were quite happy with our economy flight.

Flew BKK to SYD - seat was really uncomfortable. In the upright position it felt like you were slanting forward and I could feel the metal bars in the seat. It was an 8.5hr flight and was expecting the dinner service to take place quite quickly so I could take advantage of the lie flat bed. Dinner wasn't served until well after 2hrs into the flight and was a disappointment. The staff were friendly and helpful which was great but apart from that I didn't enjoy what should have been a comfortable flight.

Again a mixed experience with Emirates EK407 MEL-DUB and EK017 DXB-MAN business class both on A380. Business seat would be tight for a large person cabin crew patchy on night flight from MEL. Food wise advertised items like cheese and coffee had to be specifically requested rather than routinely provided plane from Melbourne was an hour late in to Dubai resulting in a frantic dash over a long distance to Manchester. Plane service and food better on day service.

Flew Brisbane to Dubai on 777 and the onto Rome on A380. You really notice the difference between these two planes. The A380 is a lot quieter and seats are more comfortable and spacious. Would recommend sitting in the first section of economy we were rows 49 and 50. Food was of high standard and their entertainment system was fantastic. Easy to use up the time watching a couple of the late latest movies. Would highly recommend to anyone making the trip to Europe from Australia.

I have just completed a trip LGW to HKG on Emirates via DXB in Business Class. The London to Dubai and Dubai to London were on a 777-300ER the DXB to HKG on an A380. What a difference. The A380 was comfort personified. You are cocooned in your little area with nobody beside or immediately in front of you - I was in seat 23K. You have plenty of space with easy access out to the aisle. The 777 however felt very cramped with somebody sitting next to you. When that passenger has his seat in bed mode you have to clamber over his legs to get out to the aisle. With the A380 you have plenty of storage space with the deep side compartments. On the 777 there is no place to store anything other than the overhead locker. Up until experiencing the A380/777 difference I have never much cared about the airplane I am sitting on - from now on for me it just has to be the A380. Had I taken all legs of this trip on the A380 the marks given would be much higher in the Trip Satisfaction and Seat Comfort.

1st November Dubai to Cape Town on EK 772 on a Boeing 777-300. Transfer in Dubai at night is always full but not as bad as on any other airport. Boarding was on time but had to wait for take off clearance as the pilot informed us. Flight was with snack at the beginning and a nice breakfast before landing with one meal being lactose free. Crew was nice and helpful. We got a nice sleep on the 9 hour flight. ICE Avod system was the new one with even more choices and movies. In CPT luggage was on the belt when we arrived there. Legroom was again very fine.

Brussels-Dubai. Emirates scores very low on staff service. They offered a choice between chicken or lamb on both flights but lamb was never available. They ran out of white wine coke ice but the other aspects check-in entertainment get high scores.

31st October. Flew Dusseldorf to Dubai on EK 56 on a Boeing 777-300ER. Check-in and seats we booked via travel agent were honored. Check in for economy with queue was still fast and easy. Boarding was half hour later due to technical. It took them almost 15 hour before take off but no problem so far. Boarding was quick and water was served since there was no air-conditioning on the ground due to the technical. On board we got the menu card and soon drinks and snacks where served before getting lunch. Meal choices was matched and even our no lactose meals was no problem. Flight was smooth and crew came around with water and juice. In between they served ice cream that was nice. ICE avod was nice with plenty of choices. Arriving in Dubai we got a remote stand so we where bussed to terminal that was quick because they use a lot of busses and there was no waiting at all. Would fly them again seats are nice with good legroom compared to LH UA AA or BA and AF/KL.

Flew from Brussels-Dubai-Tokyo and back again a total of 34 hours on Emirates planes. Absolutely outstanding airline. The crew were immaculately turned out and very friendly. The plane was clean and the meals were delicious. The inflight entertainment was also very good with a wide choice of games/films though some of the older planes have a slightly less user friendly interface. One feature I liked was as your plane nears Dubai on the inflight entertainment screen you can see where your connecting flight gate/terminal is. Families with young kids also get complimentary strollers when they land.

Outbound from ZRH-DBX-BKK. Both flights A380. Very comfortable good service. Best inflight entertainment system used many different airlines recently and Emirates is definitely best for that.
