"Avoid at all costs"

(United States)

Trip Verified | This airport remains the worst in the civilized world. I have flown thru here countless times since 1999. I travel often between the US and Europe, and for years was a loyal Delta frequent flier, achieving their highest medallion status multiple years. I have that up and started over with United, primarily because most of DL's flights route thru CDG. The designer, Paul Andreu, could not design his way out of a small cardboard box. You need a minimum of 1 hr to connect between terminals. I've missed flights even with that margin. Avoid at all costs.

"Nothing goes right"

(France)

Trip Verified | CDG is a real issue to most travelers. No wonder: it is still a State-own entity! Terible service, confusing signage, lengthy transfers, outragous bagage deliveriy delays, lengthy police controls. Nothing goes right! Efforts are made, but miss the point! Try to locate the taxi stand and CDG 1 for instance. Instead of spending billions on un-needed luxuruous renovations tending to build the biggest department store instead of taking care of the travelers, they should start to listen to their customers (airlines) and users (you and I). Clean toilets, clear signage, confortable lighting and heating systems etc...

"minimal respect and courtesy to passengers"

(Austria)

Not Verified | In 2015 at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, I was denied boarding for the overbooking of the tickets. Yesterday, 10 December 2017, 15.32 pm, (flight number OS416, departure time at 17.00 pm,) also at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, again with Austrian Airlines, I was denied boarding, the same reason: overbooking. The staff of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport are arrogant and lacks minimal respect and courtesy to passengers. Without patient explanation, only forced passengers to accept the unreasonable result. Around the world, in order to protect their own economic interests, airlines have formulated the principle of "allowing oversold." Imagine the situation for those passengers who are being denied boarding.

"this is the worst airport in the world"

(United States)

Not Verified | Hands down this is the worst airport in the world. Every single time I have to transit here something major goes wrong. I have experienced everything from simply no single bag being loaded on the plane from a certain transit, to forgetting people on the runway during boarding. I would absolutely recommend everybody stay away from CDG if you want to have some level of pleasant experience. Oh and the terminals are crowded and uncomfortable.

"It is an absolute shambles"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | My family travelled from Edinburgh via Paris enroute to Israel with our 91 year old grandma to visit her brothers war grave in Israel. Very emotional and significant trip. On arrival at Charles de Gaulle, assistance had been requested for Gran. The family were told to wait and the transport would arrive, my husband checked at the desk every 5 minutes as they had been waiting a long time, he was constantly reassured that the transport was coming. When it eventually came the gate was closed and the flight left without them. They are still are the airport desperately trying to resolve this and get on another flight to Tel Aviv. It is an absolute shambles, everyone at the desk is pretending not to speak English, no-one will take responsibility and my family are currently stranded at the airport with no-one prepared to offer any assistance.

"totally user unfriendly"

(Italy)

Trip Verified | Terrible airport, totally user unfriendly including the people who work here. You are given a boarding pass to change planes with not enough time to get there in time. You get there and the plane has gone. Air France then gives you a room (without a window) in an airport hotel for another flight following day. Only one part of the check in can't be done because the other airline has a different IT system. Not even an apology. And really who designs hotel rooms without windows @ 120 euros?

"chaotic, disorganized"

(United States)

Not Verified | By far the worst experience ever. Upon arrival at Paris CDG after the red eye from Boston, we has to climb down stairs to exit the airplane and fight our way onto a bus. Then on to a terminal building with doors that kept closing suddenly with alarms as the maximum number of people entering had been exceeded. We found ourselves in a mob surging towards what turned out to be "passport control", where we stood in line for two hours, finally snaking along to the two agents who were working to check passports. It was a truly miserable, exhausting experience. No information was given out at any time. No water offered. An elderly gentleman fainted. We returned to CDG from Nice Airport, which was pleasant and uneventful. We has transfers from Air France from Nice to Boston that required moving from terminal 2 M to 2 L. After figuring out on our own how to get from M to L, we ran into another mob surging towards passport control in L. Even though we all had just come in on Air France and had transfers, all had to again go through passport control. Once again, there were two agents on duty for literally hundreds of passengers. People were weeping as they stood in line for over 1.5 hours, realizing that their flights were leaving without them. Families with small children, the elderly, no one cared. CDG staff didn't care, falsely stating that we would all make our flights. Of course we missed our flight to Boston. No apologies from anyone and not from Air France. We were scheduled to go out 8 hours later. Once again we were all subject to additional screening individually in line, forced to stand again for an additional hour. It took 24 hours of travel to get home with an 8 hr direct flight to Boston! With all the running around from "M" to "L"and standing in all the lines, we put in over 10,000 steps. Honestly, right now I say never again. The travel experience ruined our trip to France. So unnecessary, so rude, cold, dispassionate, chaotic, disorganized.

"looks like a low cost terminal"

(France)

Trip Verified | Terminal G is the terminal dedicated to Air France/Hop flights operated with regional airplanes. I arrived from Stuttgart on a Sturday morning at 7.30am. In this terminal no direct gangway to the plane (like in Stuttgart) you have to take the tiny staircase of the old Avro. When you reach the terminal it looks like a low cost terminal. The floor is painted concrete, the painting on the wall shows its age. The light is dull. The terminal is small, not friendly at all, a few take away shops. As the terminal is situated on a remote place of the airport, you have to take a shuttle to reach the others terminals.

"So little empathy. Such a shame"

(Moldova)

Not Verified | Arrived on CDG for a transfer from Panama to Amsterdam after a great trip to South America. Due to a delay we arrived at the hand luggage security and passport check (terminal 2F) 30 minutes before the departure time of our flight to Amsterdam. There was a queue of 4 lines so it was obvious that we would not make it within 30 minutes. I asked the guy of the airport service if we could be given priority given the time pressure. His very unpleasant and cool answer was that everybody was in the same situation. Normally I would totally understand that and would not even bother to ask to be given priority. After 20 minutes we were, off course, not even close to the scanners. I asked another guy from the airport if we could now be given priority. He naturally understood the situation right away and, in contrast to his colleague, understood that we were under time pressure to catch the flight. Eventually it did not matter anymore. We were too late for our flight. I cannot understand how someone can be so arrogant when it is obvious to any person that we were on a rush (note that being late at the security was out of our control). So little empathy. Such a shame.
