✅ Trip Verified | Like a previous complainant I never took the time to write a review of an airport in my life. But the inefficiency of Frankfurt security in terminal 2 to access B, C and D gates was mind blowing. The staff appear to be more interested in speaking bad German (Not swearing) and walking around as if they do not have a care in the world and I am sure that in terms of passengers checked per staff working it must be the least productive ratio I have experienced in the past 5 years. I took the time to verbalise my complaint to two young policemen at Security and was given an inadequate response that it is due to increased winter flights. Frankfurt you guys really need to get your act together as I am sure today 12/12/2019 at 20:00 many people have missed their flights due to your inefficiencies.

✅ Trip Verified | Security Lines in this airport are the worst. Even business/fast track had a 45 min wait. Picture attached - even have to queue to get into the security line.

The line is made inefficiently. The metal detector is slow and anyway they manually check each passenger. There are not enough chairs for putting the shoes back on. The staff are far from welcoming and are so slow. I am sure that in terms of passengers checked per staff working it must be the least productive ratio I have experienced in the past 10 years. Wake up Frankfurt!

✅ Trip Verified | Frankfurt customs check when transiting is ridiculous. I fly for business regularly and refuse to use Frankfurt. Apparently they don’t care as I still had to use it today and it was again stupidly ridiculous. With 20 people in a line there were no agents to take care of the non EU travellers. We had to beg the agents to process us. Also when dropped off by the bus from the airplane we were dropped off in the wrong place and unable to get thru the airport. We had to wait to get into a closed and locked door only to find it was a door going nowhere. Then we had to go walk to another area to find the right door. Seems the airport management are asleep at the wheel or some other ridiculous excuse. Unbelievable. Must be union run. I guess Munich and other airports will get the business and this airport should become a regional one where international travellers should not have to use at all.

✅ Trip Verified | Overall the arrival process was pretty good. Only main downside is it can take a while to walk anywhere. Customs, while far away from my gate, went pretty fast(For EU citizens). It is also super easy to get to the city center with the S-Bahn departing right across from the airport or connect to a Long distance train.

✅ Trip Verified | Terrible airport for connection flights with short time. Arrived from Istanbul and had to go to Bremen with about an hour between the flights. Had to pass border formalities, they didn't take much time. But there was huge mass of the people waiting in rows for security control! No fast line for such transfer or it was so hidden I cannot find any guidance for it. Unfriendly and slow moving security check personnel; unstable working hand luggage lanes with often jamming belts. For all requests from the passengers to do something to increase passenger flow capacity, the staff in red jacket was threatening to call police. Another one just replied that it's not his business.

✅ Trip Verified | Missed my connecting flight to Linz completely due to the one and only one window open for passport control. To add insult to unnecessary injury, within the one passport control window there were two officers; but only one officer was doing the work while the other simply observed. My flight arrived from London to Frankfurt. We had already gone thru security control in London. Last time I checked, the UK was still part of the EU; as Brexit has been delayed so many times. But of course, we also had to go thru security check once again in Frankfurt, adding to the time delay and absurdity of it all. When I asked the border officers if they don’t have a fast lane to process those passengers who could prove their flight was about to take-off within 30 minutes (reasonable), I was told Nein and that many there have the same issue; thus making it absurd that I would even dare bring up the concept. And I also agree that this airport is impossible laid-out. The distances lend themselves to exponentially increase the chances that you will miss your connecting flight. The prevailing attitude at this airport is one of "we don’t care"! And so now I sit here for the next six hours waiting for the final leg of my journey all the way from Los Angeles. I rate this airport an F!

✅ Trip Verified | Far and few water taps and other utilities (quite a walking distance to access most of these), encountered rude security officers - when I requested them to repeat what they were saying when their pronunciation of English words was difficult to follow. Wifi connectivity was very good at few locations and bad at few.

✅ Trip Verified | Frankfurt airport continues to be one of the worst airports for me in Europe. The layout of the airport is terrible with very long distances where you have to run a gauntlet of pushing through crowds of people walking in all directions. Interestingly, when arriving in FRA they often have a practice of bussing you to a point which location-wise is only few meters from the exit. But you can’t go out directy, instead you have to walk for long distances through a cryptic route to come back to the exit only few meters away. I continue to be shocked by the inefficiency and performance of security screenings. The technology is old and layout bad - typically the passengers have to carry the belongings around obstacles (glass wall/door) just before the scanner that increases time used; not like in other airports where 3-4 people in line have their time to put their stuff in bins and take off jackets etc. There is no room for that. Despite the 5, maybe 6, people manning a security station, things go through very slowly. It is frustrating that the “priority lanes” are not working. Sometimes they do not exist and are often the same speed as non-priority lanes.

✅ Trip Verified | Terrible passport control point, took me for 1.5 hours to pass thru. There are many passport control booths, but most of them were closed despite the long queue. When I asked a lady in uniform that I'm late for the flight can you help me, she just answered that many others have the same situation and you have to wait like others.
