"So long queues never seen in my life"

Trip Verified | So long queues never seen in my life. The airport that could not provide to the checked-in passengers with hand baggage only to arrive at the gate in 3 hours should get the worst remark. Thank you airport workers for a missing flight. Hope you will not succeed in your strikes requests.

"Worst airport experience ever"

Not Verified | Worst airport experience ever. Stayed at airport before our flight to make things easier. it didn’t help. We were flying to US after a vacation. The lines to baggage drop were long & to security & passport control longer. They were understaffed but were rude & unhelpful. 3 different staff said I don’t care when we expressed concern about missing our flight. We ran to our gate after our flight should have departed. Fortunately it was still there. Security staff bumbled over body screening. Whole staff should be retrained or replaced. Airport should be enlarged ASAP

"we missed the flight and we had to sleep in the airport"

Not Verified | Me and my wife were traveling with our 6-month baby. We arrived at the KLM check-in area 3 hours before the flight. The check-in queue was very long and the check-in crew were understaffed. Out of the 8 counters there were only 2 open counters. After queuing for 2 hours it became very clear that we'll be missing our flight. We struggled to find any KLM employees to ask for assistance. When we finally found someone to ask she first pretended not to notice us, then she responded rudely that we need to stay on the queue. We asked another employee and she told us that we'll still make it. Guess what, we missed the flight and we had to sleep in the airport benches with a 6-month baby.

Not Verified | Poor and slow handling. What a poor, slow and unprofessional hand luggage handling and passenger screening process! Worthlessly slow. For an international airport of this size this is not acceptable. Even when it is not a holiday season you have to wait for an hour to pass the hand luggage control. So terrible.

"No one helped anyone"

Trip Verified | We missed our flight because there was a problem in the Security Check. More than 300 people waited and missed their flights. But the airport did nothing about it. They even closed more Security Checks because they have "end of work". Only one Security Check was open. For 300 people. Of course we missed our flight. And when we asked some employees they were just mad. No one helped anyone. The whole system of this airport sucks! I would never travel to Amsterdam again!

"Overall rubbish experience"

Not Verified | Really long waiting times through check-in and security. We checked in with a trainee whom was being supervised and the supervisor was rude and unprofessional. Security waiting time stated 10 to 15 minutes and took nearly an hour to get through. Did not seem to be understaffed as observed many staff having long conversations, laughing etc. Overall rubbish experience.

"worst global transit experience"

Trip Verified | A near 2 hour transit wait, hopelessly understaffed teams. This must set a new record in incompetence. There are far poorer countries that deal with security screening volumes comparable to Schipol far far better. Certainly my worst global transit experience in 2 years.

"Very clean and efficient operation"

Trip Verified | Very clean and efficient operation. The airport staff were friendly and accommodating and the airport felt fairly manageable considering it’s size. Additionally, it’s the first airport I’ve been to in Europe with water bottle refilling stations.

"I will avoid stop overs at AMS"

Not Verified | This used to be my favourite airport. Fast WiFi, a lot of seating, relax, working, and eating areas, used to be perfect as a working place for those in transit or just waiting for their flights. But now somebody declared the airport "smoke free". If you want, or need, a cigarette, maybe just because you are nervous, no way. Not the beautiful smoker's lounge we find at Geneva, not even the small rat hole you can hide in at Brussels. I suppose this is for health considerations, maybe next time they will forbid fat food. A total lack of liberality, of tolerance. I will avoid stop overs at AMS.

"walk up to 30 minutes to get to the boarding gate"

Not Verified | The airport is massive, which means that sometimes people have to walk up to 30 minutes to get to the boarding gate. Luckily I did not have to. I am hoping that an internal movement via automation will be added to the airport in the future. The WiFi is super fast, of all the airports I have been too this one tops the bill. If you are transiting through this airport and working, you have nothing to worry about in terms of network connectivity.
