"experience was mixed"

Trip Verified | Frankfurt to Bangkok via Zurich return. Swiss is in general a good airline, but my experience during tris trip was mixed. Short flights from Frankfurt to Zurich and return were uneventful. The crew worked hard to serve every passenger a drink on these short flights. The flight from Zurich to Bangkok was average. I had a window seat and the seat pitch felt super narrow. When the passenger in front of you reclined the seat, it was nearly impossible to move. I wanted to turn on my shoes and it was impossible. The cabin crew was neither friendly nor unfriendly and didn’t care much. When I was trapped in the window seat and asked for a drink, I got a short answer: "Sorry bar is closed“. Later I noted that there was a self-service bar next to the lavatory with water and juice, but there were no snacks. When the seat belt signs were turned on during turbulences, some passengers went around. Not one of the crew cared, there were also no announcements to sit down and fasten seat belts. Announcements from the cockpit were minimal, the flight arrived with 30 minutes delay, but there was no announcement or excuse. On the positive side: meals were very good on all flights and IFE was also good. The return flight from BKK to ZRH was much better: crew was very good, there were two snacks between the two meals (ice cream and sandwich) and the self-service bar was full of different snacks. Another negative aspect of my journey was that I received my luggage wet after transfer in Zurich. Did they leave my luggage out in the rain the whole time?

"going above and beyond"

Trip Verified | Zurich to Singapore. Would like to thank Flight Attendant Kai for going above and beyond in trying to locate my ring that came off during the night. Luckily it appeared from where it was hiding after landing at Singapore. Hopefully our thanks get passed on to Kai for his efforts.

"worst service ever"

Trip Verified | Valencia to Hannover via Zurich. The worst service ever. The woman in the check in counter was very rude. She refuses to just open my passport's plastic. I talked to the their customer service, which helped me to check in at another counter. They only serve sorbet for my route to Zurich. Poor quality of food.

"Another superb set of experiences with Swiss"

Trip Verified | Budapest to New York JFK via Zürich. Another superb set of experiences with Swiss - from the hospitality of the cabin crew to the food and drinks served to the cleanliness of the aircraft to the safety and punctuality of the flight. On the first segment an ample breakfast was served with repeated offers of bread and drinks. On the trans-Atlantic section, the main meal had a variety of choices. I skipped the food service prior to landing. The amenity kit came in a different container compared to the one given on the flight out. I availed of some duty free shopping. The film selection could be more extensive. The seat is not as comfortable as I would have expected. You need to stretch your arm to touch the TV screen to change channels. The cabin seemed a tad too warm. Smooth flight. Plug points to charge phones and computers. Bathroom kept clean - limited, if any, amenities there. Arrived refreshed, with hot towels provided.

Trip Verified | Gdansk to Split via Zurich. It was my first flight with Swiss Airlines. In my opinion good staff service on ground and during the flight. Quite easy check in on line. I can recommend this carrier. I can say everything as in a Swiss watch. However their the partnership lines Edelweiss Air is not the same standard of quality but nobody is perfect.

"bad handling of delayed flight"

Trip Verified | Stockholm to Stuttgart via Zürich. Very bad handling of delayed/re-booked flight. Minutes before boarding the flight I got a notification that I was re-booked on another one - the next day. Big surprise. So why? The Stockholm-Zürich flight had a delay, so I would not have been able to reach the connecting flight Zürich-Stuttgart. So for so bad, but happened before, can be solved. But instead of letting us go to Zürich, sleep there, take an early flight next day, they just left us hanging in Stockholm. Wouldn't be that bad, as it's a nice city, but we were already at the gate, ready for boarding. There was no way getting through on the service line (three tries, ten minute waiting, no response). Ground staff from SAS couldn't get anything changed for us, although they really tried. Swiss solution now was to let us stay at the Stockholm airport, get a flight the next day via Hamburg and be at home at 1.30pm Monday, instead of 11.30pm Sunday. This is horrible. That's a 14h delay on an easy flight, without any communication to Swiss directly. This means we gonna spend half Monday on airport, instead of working, family or whatever. Haven't had this before with Swiss, but was very negatively surprised on how they handle such things. The service in that is not worth the value at all that you pay for their flight. Ground service is nice, on-board service as well. Their people are great and service is very good. But the management of such a situation is absolutely horrible. Would have expected that from a third class cheap airline, but from Swiss... well that, was bad.

"attentive in-flight service"

Trip Verified | New York to Budapest via Zurich. A glitch free pair of on-time flights with efficient and attentive in-flight service. The cabin layout in the Airbus 330 was open and airy in a 1-2-1 configuration. The window seat I had was not comfortable — it was hard. When I made it flat to sleep, it felt narrow. The blanket/duvet could have been larger. The pillow was overly small. My sleep was fitful. The TV screen was activated by touches but you had to stretch from your seat. No secure space to keep your passport, phone, wallet, glasses and the like. In summary, the hard product is inferior. On boarding, water, juice and champagne was offered followed by a hot towel. A menu booklet in several languages presented the dinner options which looked very complete and included fish, beef, chicken and a vegetarian choice. A selection of liquors was listed. There was a separate card listing choices for breakfast that needed to be be filled out - in effect, the flight attendants collected our orders. The breakfast was presented in a tidy manner. The order was correct - it was a continental breakfast. Hot towel provided before landing. The second flight of about 80 minutes to Budapest was excellent. A lunch of a cheese and ham salad with warm bread roll and full beverage service was provided. Before landing, the flight attendant passed a basket of Swiss chocolates. A sweet ending! All in all, the service was faultless but the seat and the seating environment in the Airbus 330-300 will discourage me from flying this aircraft on business class on Swiss.

"deteriorated its service"

"won’t ever fly with Swiss again"

Trip Verified | Hamburg to Zurich. We couldn’t book our seats beforehand. We tried everything but they told us that we couldn’t do anything. We had a flight from Hamburg to Zurich and then to Washington DC. They seated us in the very back of the airplane but they knew that we had a very short time in Zurich to catch our second flight. They couldn’t get our bags from Zurich to Dulles and we still have no answer from them. Our bags didn’t arrive even after over 24 hours. I won’t ever fly with Swiss again. I would give them a rating of 0 points if that would be possible.

"an airline has no answers"

Not Verified | New York JFK to Zurich. We have a flight tomorrow leaving from JFK at 6:10 PM. I received a text message at 10 PM stating my flight to Zurich is cancelled without stating anything additional. We have booked all of our flights through Swiss and therefore have a connecting flight to Naples and then Rome back to JFK. They had the audacity to hang up twice. No other solutions were offered. We even offered to drive to Philadelphia which is a 2 hour drive and even greater during rush hour but they said they are not able to. When asked about the flight being cancelled, their response was technical issues. No mention of refund was made during the phone conversation. Once I mentioned the refund, they then wanted to refer me to another department, kept me on hold for 30+ minutes and then automatic hang up. Is this a duping strategy. I have hotels booked for 7 days. I have connecting flights booked. I have airport transfers arranged. I also paid for my baggage. I even have my phone conversation recorded. I don't understand how an airline has no answers.
