"Thoroughly disgusted with Delta"

(United States)

Not Verified | To be fair, we had a 2 hour weather delay in Rochester but got to LaGuardia on time to transfer to our next plane. The next plane left 10 minutes early, and we watched it leave the terminal. When we rebooked, the agent wrote the wrong gate on our tickets. Luckily, we double checked the gate which was a ten minute walk. Thoroughly disgusted with Delta.

"Several of our items went missing"

(United States)

Trip Verified | My family and I flew Delta Air Lines where both of my luggage I checked in, I paid for. My 15 year old son who plays sports, is an A & B student, works Friday nights as a busboy, came to me asking where the gift box from Bath & Bodywork’s went being that he bought this as a gift for his girlfriend. Several of our items went missing (that could not be carried on) and when I filed a complaint with Delta, they stated they cannot do anything about it or investigate as this would be providing me preferential treatment. In the event you are traveling, do not check anything that might be attractive for one to steal. Delta had my luggage delivered within 12 hrs of the flight at 5:38AM where they left personal items on my front porch without a signature. They have to do better on protecting one’s personal items you pay to have delivered - at minimum, offer insurance if they’re going to allow for their associates to remove and steal items from your luggage. Super disappointed. A huge reminder on how not to treat customers…

“we are stuck in Seattle”

(United States)

Trip Verified | Our flight from PDX to SEA was delayed by 30 minutes because of a faulty chair, a mechanic came on the plane and fiddled with it for that amount of time seemly not knowing what he was doing. This was a connecting flight to a flight headed towards PHX with 15 people now running late for a flight. The staff aboard the plane we were on assured us that the other plane knew we were coming and not to worry, and then took a leisurely time taking off making us even later. When we got to SEA we were instructed to run halfway through the airport to our gate, which we did, only to be told that the plane to PHX was departing early without us even when they knew that all 15 of us were on our way. Delta cares more about their punctual reputation than their actual passengers that THEY made late. Now my boyfriend is missing his grandfathers memorial because the next flight to Phoenix is not for another 12 hours and we are stuck in Seattle.

"express my sincere gratitude"

(United States)

Not Verified | I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Nadia and Manuel who work at ticketing in San Antonio, TX airport. On Saturday, December 2, 2023, I arrived at the airport with only 30 minutes left before my flight was scheduled to depart. I express my most sincere apologies for my late check in and ask them if there is anything they could do to help me out. They were very attentive and instead of telling me you are late; they were fast to ask me and listen to my needs and the personal problem I was going through. They immediately started making phone calls to the point to receive the authorization to allow me to check in and make it to my flight. I want to share my gratitude and appreciation to Nadia and Manuel for going above and beyond their duties to help a customer. Employees like this should be rewarded for their actions. I am eternally grateful due to their actions; I was able to reach my destination on time and spent time with my family in a moment of need. -

"denied my pre-booked window seat"

(United States)

Trip Verified | I was denied my pre-booked window seat and forced to sit in the middle seat between 2 obese men. The man assigned to the middle seat was moved to my seat. I had no room to move. After a couple hours I became dangerously overheated, began sweating profusely and nauseated. I got up to use the restroom and ended up fainting, falling backwards, injuring my head and neck. I couldn’t safely get up for 20 minutes or more. I was placed back in the same seat for the remaining 7 hours, unable to safely use the restroom. Delta denied responsibility. Stated initially I want on the flight despite hundreds of witnesses. Even the captain was informed. They then stated they had the the right to deny passengers their seats for any reason, even if it results in bodily injury. They also stated they checked the seating logs and determined there were other women on the flight seated in window seats, therefore it was not discriminatory. I was of similar size of the man that was given my seat. My injury required medical attention and therapy. Delta offered me a $100 flight coupon for my “inconvenience “. I was flying alone internationally, I am 60 years old. I am fearful to ever fly alone again.

“my screen was not working at all”

(United States)

Not Verified | We flew Delta from NYC to Rome and paid to be seated in Comfort Plus as it was an 8 hour flight and thought it would be worth it. Upon settling in, I noticed my screen was not working at all. My husband tried his and there was no sound as the headphone jack was damaged. We alerted the flight attendant and nothing happened. After 3 attempts one finally tried to reset mine, unsuccessfully. The flight was full so we had no option but to sit in our seats and be the only people on the flight that had no way to watch a movie or follow our route for 8 hours. So much for “Comfort Plus” and the high price we paid for the services we didn’t get. After our trip I tried to reach out to Delta Customer Service. It took 2 hours to reach a human only to be informed they no longer have a live person to talk with and the only route was online which got me nowhere with their “Chat”. I tried several times to file a complaint but my responses were not in the field of answers. I finally was able to file a complaint by not answering questions on the form and got an email from a human that I could now email back and try to describe our experience. Why would they think we’d ever fly with them again as there is the chance that the seats we are assigned could have non working monitors and electronics? What other equipment isn’t working on their aircraft?

“Can’t you do better?”

(United States)

Not Verified | Our plane left Spokane late, and we missed our connecting flight. We were told to go to the Delta help desk. There has been no one here for forty-five minutes. It is very frustrating! There is a line of people and not one worker trying to help, or get help. Come on Delta! Can’t you do better?

“denial of responsibility”

(United States)

Not Verified | On an international flight with Delta, I was refused my pre-booked window seat and placed in a middle seat between 2 obese males. My seat was given to a man to fly comfortably and I was made to fly in his seat, without leg or armroom. A few hours into the flight I became severely overheated, began sweating profusely, and felt nauseated. I got up to use the restroom and ended up passing out cold in the middle aisle. I was only able to get safely up after 20 minutes. I was placed in the same seat without assistance to the restroom. I am a 60 year old women, it was a 9-hour flight, and I myself am not small. In the subsequent fall, I injured myself, requiring nearly 3 months to recover. Delta refused any responsibility or compensation. They would not even refund the cost of the flight. Their representatives first denied I was even on the plane despite a boarding pass and over 300 witnesses. They have also stated they did not discriminate because they had checked and other women were not denied their window seats on that flight. They stated they are able to move you from your seat for any reason, even if it results in injury to the passenger. They stated if I had purchased a first-class ticket perhaps this would not have occurred. Trying to deal with the second-largest airline in the world is impossible. They do not follow international regulations designed to protect passengers and they set up an impossible system when seeking compensation. shifting blame to their partnering airlines, despite being on a Delta flight, with Delta employees. I have had to speak with over 12 employees, supervisors, and others and received only stonewalling, the denial of responsibility, and a lack of any respect, follow-up or concern.
