Dublin-Warsaw-Krakow. Very nice experience, all flights full but no
delays or deterioration in service. Hassle-free connection at Warsaw,
nice inflight service with attentive staff. Refreshments on the internal
Warsaw-Krakow leg not to my taste but the Poles seemed to like it!
Lovely new Embraer aircraft. Although there are plenty of direct Dublin-
Krakow flights, this does not stop me flying via Warsaw with LOT

I flew with LOT many times on several routes to and within Poland and
never had any problems with them. I cannot remember a dalay longer than
15 minutes. Customer service is well organized and efficient. Their
planes are relatively new and always clean and well mentained. They
still provide a food and drink service even on the shortest routes.
Although that is not very important to me on flights lasting less than
80 min., I do appreciate this highly. FAs are normally friendly and
helpful. Cannot complain about this airline.

Stockholm-Warsaw-Barcelona in Economy. Stockholm Airport provided one of
the worst connecting experiences of my life! I arrived from Bangkok at
6am and there was no one to provide directions, and very few signs. In
desperation I asked a security guard what to do and he pointed me in the
right direction, which involved going downstairs, pushing a red button
and hoping a bus to the other terminal building would appear!
Eventually it did. I was the only passenger and was dropped at another
empty building. I found my way upstairs, through security and reached a
SAS transfer desk, with no one on duty. I waited almost 30 minutes when
a SAS staffer who happened to be passing en route to a gate took pity on
me and issued a boarding pass for the LOT flight to Warsaw. I can only
assume that very few passengers use Stockholm as a transfer airport, and
would not recommend it to anyone. Once that was done, it was easy enough
to find the gate, and boarding for our 7:55am flight took place not long
after 7:30. I was expecting an Embraer regional jet but, for some
reason, a 737-500 was operating today's flight. There were only 31
passengers and we quickly found our places. The cabin was looking tired
and shabby, but FAs were cheerful enough. Shortly after takeoff, we were
offered LOT Café Breakfast Boxes, along with fruit juices, and even
wine, despite the early hour! The boxes contained a Nestlé Cornflakes
and Milk Breakfast Bar, roll, paté, and cake. This was followed by tea
or coffee. Altogether, a highly acceptable offering. Immigration was a
breeze, but we had to wait quite a long while until our bags were
delivered. I was most relieved to see my suitcase, that had been
checked from Auckland through Bangkok and Stockholm, had arrived safely.
Next morning, I continued my journey to Barcelona. LOT uses a good
executive lounge with free internet access and a wide range of
refreshments. Embraer E-170 proved to be a very comfortable plane, with
leather seats, plenty of leg room and large windows. LOT Café service
offered a hot lunch. As soon as the lunch service was completed, cabin
crew disappeared, but reappeared to offer orange juice and mineral water
shortly before landing. I was pleasantly surprised by my first
experience flying LOT, and would not hesitate to recommend it as a good
option when flying in Eastern Europe.

Y class LHR-WAW. Check in at LHR quick and efficient. On time departure
in a well maintained but dated B737-500 with no IFE. Bare bones boxed
snack, with choice of soft and bar drinks. WAR-BUD on EM 145. Problem
with e-ticket quickly sorted out followed by quick check in. Nice
airport, good layout. Boarding via a bus. Boxed snack on comfortable
aircraft, again nice crew. Overall, a decent product.

22 December 2005
Being that Lot flies non-stop NY to Warsaw, I prefer this shortest
flight-time. However, I've also noticed a remarkable decline in quality
and service over the past 6 years or so with LOT. The flight attendants
seem unfriendly, the quality of the food has gone down and the fares
have shot up. My last trip I booked 4 months in advance and confirmed my
selected seats in order to have my family together on the flight. 4 days
before my flight I got a phone call from my travel agent stating LOT
deleted my seat from the flight because some "mental giant" within LOT
assumed my son (whose name is the same as mine) and I, were one in the
same and it was an erroneous double booking! The travel agent was able
to put me back on the flight a day later but our reserved and confirmed
seats were given away to other passengers who booked at the last minute.
After numerous calls to LOT and non-helpful agents, a supervisor finally
called me back a day later and promised to restore my reserved seats but
that I would have to do deal with the "Powers" in Warsaw for my return
flight to be restored. The flight from NY to Warsaw was hot and stuffy
(it must have been a dead air space or the ventilation was not working
properly) which made me feel slightly nauseous. The plane's interior
was also gungy. The unfriendly attendants and the quality of the meals
was a major disappointment from previous years LOT flights. For my
return flight, LOT failed to accommodate my family's seats together.
I've also flown Finnair, NY to Warsaw, with a 45 min layover in Helsinki
and the food, service, and cleanliness aboard this carrier was
excellent. LOT needs to bring itself up to the competition.

Flew from Toronto to Warsaw and back to Toronto. Lot is the worst
airline which I have ever flown. Terrible service, terrible food and
very old airplanes. Flight attendants are rude and not helpful at all.
We travelled with our 15 month old daughter, even though she didn't have
a seat, other airlines provide a hot meal - not so with LOT.

Zurich - Warsaw - Zurich by ERJ145, all flights on time, efficient crew,
tasty sandwiches, fast service, perfect aircraft for this flight (I like
the ERJ145 because of the single seat row on the left side), what more
would you like? Only drawback: Warsaw Airport is crowded and a bit run
down, but apparently they are working on that.

2 October 2005
My first trip to Poland on LOT will undoubtedly be my last!
After a connecting flight (on a different airline) to JFK, the 10:00pm
flight to Krakow was "delayed" until 7AM next morning. But no one
waiting in line for 1+ hours was told this until they actually arrived
at the ticketing counter to check their bags. (No announcement was made
to the 50+ people in line). LOT put us up in area hotels, but was
extremely disorganized during the process.
On the return trip to the USA, the 11-hour flight from Warsaw to Chicago
was delayed by 3 hours, again, no explanation, causing the majority of
pax to miss connecting flights upon arrival. Once again, very chaotic,
and after 2 hours in the airport, we were taken to a local hotel. During
the trans-Atlantic flights, no drinks were offered except with meals, on
the longest flight, only 1 meal and a "snack" was offered. Flight
attendants were unfriendly. The same movies were shown to and from WAW,
even though we travelled during the same month. Will never use LOT
again!

Embraer 170 from Paris to Warsaw - it was comfortable, spacious
and quiet. Service was just average, a sandwich and some drinks.
I can imagine long-haul LOT is different - bad. But ERJ 170 is good.

19 August 2005
My family has been flying with Lot for almost 20 years. We have always enjoyed the service, and
the direct flight from Toronto to Warsaw was very convenient for us. We have never had any
problems with Lot, until now. In April 2005, I booked a ticket to Warsaw departing Toronto on
July 14, 2005. We were to fly directly to Warsaw, and then depart for Toronto on August 1. We
booked our seats through the travel agency. When we arrived at the airport and checked in, we
were given different seats from what we had reserved. When we asked why this was, we were told
that someone at the travel agency likely made an error. But this was not the case, since we had
a printed itinerary specifically stating which seats we had. We proceeded to the gate, and were
surprised to see that the airplane was not a Lot Polish Airlines Boeing, but a Luz Air L1011.
No announcements were made as to why the airplane was changed. Furthermore, we were informed
that the flight was delayed 45 minutes. This delay ended up being two hours. When we finally
boarded the plane, we first noticed that the seat configuration was different from the Lot
Boeing, which explained why our seats were changed. Someone was in the seat that was listed
on our boarding passes, so we had to sit elsewhere. During the flight, the service was very
poor. The airplane was very old, as water was dripping from the ceiling (we were told that this
was from the air conditioning). The crew spoke no Polish, except for maybe one Lot crew member.
There was no in-flight movie, no headsets to listen to music were given and there was no duty
free shopping. When we were served our meals, we were given bread without any butter. Our
return flight was slightly better. The airplane was not an original Lot Boeing, but a similar
aircraft leased in. Three of the washrooms were out of service, and there were long
lineups to use the remaining washrooms. During this flight, the movie was not played due to
audio problems. We also overheard one of the passengers saying that that the July 15 flight
from Toronto to Warsaw, one day after our flight, was cancelled completely because the aircraft
had no power. Over the years, Lot has deteriorated. We are now going to fly British Airways
through London, because after what we have been through with Lot, we never want to fly with
them again!

10 July 2005
I fly LOT Business Class twice a year from either JFK or EWR to Warsaw. Business
class quality has been declining rapidly for the past couple of years. On my last
flight on July 3rd from WAW to EWR, they announced that the gate is open and they are
boarding. They offered no pre-boarding for business class or passengers with small
children. Departed 30 minutes late but arrived 10 minutes ahead of schedule. There
were 18 seats in business class - 15 occupied and probably only 7 paying customers as
others were upgraded from coach for the lack of room (overbooking). I was seating
alone in 3F and when FA finally arrived with the meal (there were 3 choices on the
menu) only fish was available! Luckily, that's what I planned on ordering anyway! In
other words, non-paying customers seating on the left side of the plane got their
choice of meal. Upon arrival at EWR as a business class passenger, your luggage is
marked with big red tags "PRIORITY" and should be out first. Well, I and other
"PRIORITY" customers waited 25 minutes as everyone else got their luggage ahead of
us! On prior flight out of JFK in June of 2004, when passengers were still boarding
I've attempted to use my cell phone and was almost thrown out of the plane as FA's in
a very rude manner told me I could not use cell phone even when the plane is still at
the gate with the door opened! In summary, LOT Business Class is probably the
cheapest of all major carriers at $1,800's range but you get little for your money.
They need to revamp business class interior (better yet - time to replace those 15
year old 767's), train their gate personnel in customer service and perhaps have
business passengers pr-order their meals so LOT would save money by not having extra
food going to waste and customers will be happy getting their choices. Warsaw's
Chopin's (Okecie) airport is a big joke. Built for the 21st century is smaller than
any regional airport in US. I felt sorry for all "regular" passengers waiting in 2
hour lines to check in (business class has its own check-in area on the left side of
the terminal with no lines). All in all, LOT is still the only airline offering non-
stop flights from US to Poland. Even though they are Star Alliance member, they have
a very long way to go to be up to Star Alliance's standards of service.

29 June 2005
Flying with Lot was the worst experience we've had in 35 years of travel. DC-Warsaw: luggage went
to London; flight from JFK left an hr. late with no explanation or warning. Return from Warsaw:
Plane "delayed" from 5:15 Monday to 12:30 on Tuesday. All during day we were told it would be going
in an hour, and an hour, and an hour. Taken to the Gromada Motel overnight. Tuesday's 12:30 flight
"delayed" until 5 p.m. take-off. Plane was Icelandic Air; Lot didn't have one available. Long,
unexplained lines, no information given in English, desk agents completely surprised by question as
to whether the same seats were assigned, since the planes had different configurations. Result:
another long line. Arrived at JFK too late to get connecting flight to DC. No Lot representative
in "connecting flight" area. ElAl rep took our tickets and was gone over an hour with no
information. We rented a car and drove home, losing what we had paid for the connecting leg and
incurring costs of rental car and overnight motel on the New Jersey Turnpike. Never consider this
airline!

Newark, NJ to Warsaw, Poland and back – Boeing 767, business class. LOT's ground services were very
poor. Very disorganized system (or actually no system at all) of getting passengers on the plane.
Once inside, however, everything changed. A pleasant and very polite flight attendant directs you to
your seat. There is plenty of legroom and the seats are quite comfortable despite the fact that the
plane was rather old. Variety of beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were served throughout
the flight. Dinner (three choices) and breakfast were also served, both meals quite tasty and
visually appealing. The plane was clean and well maintained. Overall the flights were very pleasant
and comfortable. LOT must significantly improve its ground operations in order to be able to compete
with major world airlines.

Warsaw Bucharest - one of the most expensive routes that Lot flies. Flights are consistently
delayed, the planes are either small Embraer 145 or the newer 170's. The 145 is cramped, so if you
are carrying any more than a toothbrush, be prepared to have it around your feet - as there is no
locker room. As people carry bags to the plane - upon landing there is inevitably a delay until
these "carry-on" bags are retrieved from the hold. So again allow a good 10 minutes from coming to a
standstill until you get off. Service of food is dreadful - a poorly prepared sandwich which tastes
and feels as if it has been lying around for several days. Don't ask for anything as the answer
always is "this is only for business class sir...." If only there was another alternative I would
readily switch.

I use LOT frequently traveling for business Chicago-Krakow. So far, it is the only airline having
direct flights to Krakow, Poland. All is basically OK with LOT except for one extremely annoying
policy they follow: you have to call LOT and confirm your flight each and every time 72 hrs. prior
to departure, otherwise "the computer" will kick you out from the passengers' list and unless there
is an extra empty seat, you don't fly. I have never heard of any other airline having such stupid
policy. There is a great need for competition. Other airlines should be allowed to show LOT how to
do business properly.

Outward flight LGW out to Krakow and return to LHR via Warsaw - all economy. I was pleasantly
surprised with the flights and service although their check-in personnel could do with some customer
service training. On both out/return flights I asked for as much room as possible and was told that
the flights were full. Infact they weren't and I moved myself to a row of 3 empty seats to work. I
got the impression that if you asked for anything special (I am a Silver Star Alliance member) then
they deliberately don't give it to you. Otherwise it was good value for money, nice snack, plenty
of leg room and a clean and presentable cabin.

Heathrow to Gdansk via Warsaw. Fully booked Boeing
737-400, quite ageing, but clean and good leg room. Departure on time, good safety
presentation, friendly young crew, service adequate for 2
hrs flight - kind of sandwich, beverage service with wines, coffee, tea. Smooth, comfortable
flight for the price.
Transfer in Warsaw quick and hassle-free, airport is small. On domestics LOT
uses its sister-company Eurolot, with ATR72s. Short flight to Gdansk,
just 40 mins. Smart box with LOT logo, inside orange juice and croissant with chocolate filling -
tasty!

Geneva to Warsaw, July 2004 (return)
This daily service leaves in the evening, convenient for business people to "return" home
to Warsaw. Thus, the flight to Warsaw was packed with businessmen and weekenders.
The flight was in a BAe jet with about 50 seats in a 2-1 seating format. The
legroom was sufficient, even if the plane was not very tall. The bathroom, however, was very tiny,
- clean since the plane was very new.
The service was unremarkable - since it was a early evening flight, they served a cold meal: a piece
of fruit + cheese + sandwich of cold cuts. It was not bad but not particularly appetizing either.
At least it was fresh. The stewardesses were very friendly, although they basically rushed through
the service and then disappeared for the rest of the flight.

LGW-KRK, Coach Class.
I was a litlle apprehensive about flying LOT, but my fears proved to be groundless. Nevertheless, it
was not a flawless flight.
There was a slight delay in boarding due to some mechanical problem and the ground attendants
mentioned that they would be following a strict boarding procedure once boarding commenced. They did
pre-board families and those needing assistance, but then as usual on European carriers (at least in
my experience) they opened it up to all. There was a selection of British & Polish newspapers at
the end of the walkway for all to take. I was seated in 4C- bulkhead aisle, with the F curtain in
front of me. All seating had been assigned, and I was not surprised to see 6 people sitting in row
3 (which had been assigned to them). What did surprise me was after everyone had boarded and coach
was just about full, the FA told those seated in row 3, they would have to move, as that was now
being designated First Class, but they were unable to move the curtain back. Despite showing
boarding passes with row 3 on them, all 6 had to get up and find new seats in the very crowded rear.
Leaving F with only 2 passengers! After the usual emergency procedures speech in Polish & English, the FA's started the meal service.
We were all given a plastic box with yogurt, a roll, some 'strange' type of meat (ham & bolonga -
maybe?) and a piece of cheese and a fruit cup. Beverage service followed with offerings of the
usual coffee, water, tea, juice and beer. (Interestingly this was the same meal I received early in the am as well as the next day in the
afternoon). The flight was uneventful and arrival was just about on time in Krakow. After climbing down the
portable stairs we were all ushered onto buses for the literally 30 second drive to the
terminal! - it had to have been 10 feet away from the plane.

Warsaw to Toronto Pearson Intl.
Very nice flight! B767-200, not very new, but all the seats are newly
changed, for smart light blue covers. Departure 25 mins late, but we
were in Canada 45 mins ahead of schedule!
Crew was very nice, young and enthusiastic, very good English and even
some of them spoke French and Russian. Hot towels, plenty of drinks -
however, except vodka, no other strong alcohol in Economy - just wine
and beer. Food was okay, two main courses to choose from - turkey or
pork, nice cake, coffee, tea many times. Between the meals drinks every
30 mins, so you won't feel hungry and thirsty on a LOT flight. Plenty of
small kids on the flight - each got toys, puzzles etc etc.
The only thing they can change is their Inflight Entertainment. Okay,
there is a moving map, cartoons, music videos, Health On Board, movies,
but watching them on big screens is not very comfortable. In the era of
PTV's, LOT should change it! But basically- very nice, smooth flight.

I flew with LOT many times for the last few years. I was flying mostly
in business class and economy class, on many routes - European and
transatlantic. Some flights were just perfect, but some flights were
bad. Most stewardess are very nice - but the old ones - can be pretty
rude to passengers - especially me - when they were seeing me (a

release all their life-frustration on me. But everything else was always
okay.

The aging Boeing 767's are very noticeable. The seats are getting old and broken at
times. The bathrooms are no treat either. I understand these were built in the 1980's, but I
believe its time to get newer long-haul aircrafts. The food is also getting worse with Chicken or Pork being offered most of the
time now. As for the European flight, I really can't complain. The ATR was old and it showed a lot
but the staff was very pleasant. The food was horrible though.

VIE-KRK and KRK-VIE (Lauda Air MEL-VIE-KRK codeshare). After a great
flight Melbourne to Vienna with Lauda Air I was very disappointed by LOT. The cabin of the
ATR72 was dirty and shabby, the seats were worn out, FA service very average and the food
just terrible. The return flight was pretty much the same - very disappointing, thankfully they
were only short flights. Hopefully Star Alliance membership will force them to lift their game.

I flew with LOT London to Warsaw on 2nd August. Flight delayed by 9hours due to a broken

okay, but
this is not a 3 stars airline standard. Where is a Star Alliance quality control team

I travelled recently on LOT on four sectors: from Zagreb to Oslo and back via Warsaw. All the
flights were on time or even arrived ahead of schedule. Apart of the first ZAG-WAW leg which was
operated by a 737-500 on other flights I travelled on ERJ-145 with 2-1 seating and smart looking
blue leather seats. Cabins and toilets were clean with marcipan scented soap and hand lotion. Cabin
crew is very professional and efficient, reasonably friendly, offering some shy smiles from time to
time (much better then Warsaw airport staff which is unpleasant, rude and uninterested in their
jobs). However they have ugly and old-fashioned uniforms in blue-red combinations, as witness to
communist tradition. Flight and safety information given by FA and captain are both very good. Meal
and beverage service in economy is average: a little too efficient in order to give
FA's time to
chat, portions quite small, taste not bad for airplane food-just like any major
European airline.
All together I would recommend this airline especially for good prices and good overall product but
try to avoid long transfers at WAW as the airport offers just claustrophobia: it is rather small
with limited views, unpleasant shops and cafeterias and unfriendly staff.

I have flown LOT many times over the past 5 years.
When flights were good, they were very good - better than Lufthansa, KLM or SAS. On the other
hand, when something did go wrong (major delay, overbooking, etc.) it wasn't handled in the
most efficient and pleasant way. One measure of quality is how well an airline handles the
unexpected, or provides efficient and pleasant in-flight service on a full flight. Lot needs to
improve in this area. One thing is sure, LOT should upgrade its intercontinental Business
class - newer planes, or refurbish the current ones. In the era of flat-beds and personal
video screens as gold-standard, LOT business B767 is stuck in 1980's.

I flew LOT from WAW TO JFK. The coach cabin was all right, and so was the food
- there could be more of legroom. I put in for some vegetarian stuff which

washrooms, which stank and left much to be desired.

I flew LOT Polish Airlines Madrid to Warsaw last week. Interior of Boeing 737 was a little
grubby. As a 3.5 hour flight, catering was good (3 course dinner). Complimentary bar with wine, juices and spirits.
FA's helpful - get few round of drinks, talked to passengers. Compared to
Lufthansa or Swiss, LOT service in economy seems to be better.

I have travelled with LOT from London to Poland may times over the past
18 months and have found them to be very, very helpful and extremely
good value for money. I travelled to Krakow on 6/2/03 and the whole
experience could not be faulted-the plane pushed back early, the seat
pitch was good (better than BA economy to Miami ! ), the food was
reasonable and the crew were very friendly. I for one am more than
satisfied with the service and just wish that they flew to the USA via

Transatlantic
flights leave a lot to be desired but tickets are extremely cheap ,the cabin is clean and FA's
friendly. Business and economy have no PTV's - I had to sit on 5 pillows and my son had to sit on ten to see the central TV
screen. LOT food is good - recently they changed it and made it less fattening. Warsaw is disgusting
and cramped. The new terminal will be constructed in 2003 and probably done in 2005, but I doubt
that because they always run out of money.

Business class, I would fly no other airline. LOT economy section is good - in my opinion better
than CO, and UA with the same applying to Business

Airbus (which will finally have

Friendly FA's, very good and large meals, children were allowed to board first and were presented nice children's suitcases as
presents by the friendly FA's. Warsaw airport is too small, very crowded, there is just one self-service restaurant in the
transit area plus two tiny bars; staff seems to be overworked and can be slightly unfriendly; the
B737-500 for the WAW-HEL flight broke down on its way towards the runway, we waited onboard for half
an hour and had to disembark; after two hours of waiting in the unfriendly atmosphere of WAW airport
without sufficient information on what was going to happen we finally boarded a new
B737-500; the FA's were the same but we had a new cockpit crew.

I
fly LOT Stockholm-Warsaw and Warsaw-Frankfurt (all in economy class). The Business Lounge is very poorly
equipped and leaves al ot to desired. Warszaw is a bad transit airport.
LOT flight attendants welcome you with a smile - and they seem to smile
a lot. Unlike many other airlines, the short-European flights mean that you actually get food onboard, not
just a sandwich. Even though the design and presentation of the food
isn't as slick as SAS economy,
you still seem to get enough food. The selection of international newspapers is very poor and the
LOT inflight magazine is boring. The seats onboard LOT's Boeing 737 are comfortable and
I enjoyed my flight - I once flew LOT Stockholm-Warszaw-Bangkok nd the seating
on their B-767 was more cramped then the 737. On long-haul flights LOT have
nothing to offer in terms of Inflight Movies. The headphones are made
out of plastic and rubber, the sound comes from your armrest via a tube
connection !! So, the conclusion is that LOT is a good short-haul
airline. But don't bother to use them
for Transatlantic flights. The cheap tickets are not that cheap and you really can see what
has
been compromised to save money.
I am looking forward to see what will happen now that they are about to be introduced into
Star Alliance.
