MEL-PER. Flight late in from previous leg but left for Perth on time -
they didn't clean it! Litter on floor and food crumbs on seats. Inflight
service average, seats comfortable but restricted recline, leather but grubby. Only
saved $20 off Qantas fare and ended up spending more than that on a meal and a glass
of wine. Will fly full service Qantas in future.

Starclass Sydney to Phuket. We booked Jetstar Starclass (via internet) for two reasons - as Qantas
FF's, we earned points at a business class rate, and Jetstar is the only airline to fly direct to
Phuket from Australia. As we booked early, were able to pre-allocate seats in row 1, and with my
husband and I being quite tall, Starclass seemed a great option. With Starclass you can use the
Qantas Lounge, but my husband is a high level FF, so we were able to use it anyway. Check in was
quick and efficient. Onboard, the seats were quite comfortable and being row 1 had plenty of leg
room. We were greeted by name and offered a pre-flight drink. We were given a Jetstar branded pack
with a rolled up blanket, eyemask, socks, a plastic zip lock bag and ear plugs. I found the food
quite tasty. I had no issues at all with the quality, frequency or volume of the food, and I'm
quite fussy! The drinks were plentiful. FA's were very polite and efficient. The bathrooms were
kept clean. Our portable DVD players had no issues, and found them to have an excellent variety of
programs. Our luggage arrived intact and nothing missing. All in all, this is our second flight
with Jetstar and have been highly impressed both times. Starclass is worth it if you can get a
special or don't mind paying the extra money. Do remember - it is not a full business class
product. It is really a premium economy. I would not have enjoyed the flight being packed in
economy on Jetstar however! Jetstar may have their issues, but on this flight, everything was top notch.

SYD-HNL-SYD on Jetstar Starclass return. Starclass is more Premium Economy than Business Class but I
found it quite OK. I also share the concern others have mentioned with my itinerary also showing
economy for the flight when, in fact, it was Starclass. However, the dedicated check-in for
Starclass was worthwhile, if a little difficult to find during transit in Sydney (from Brisbane).
The return service from Honolulu to Sydney was excellent with intelligent and caring service to some
disabled passengers I happened to notice were seated nearby. I was also pleased with the service I
received and I found the seat comfort quite good (think part-way between economy and business but
don't expect business class). The only disappointment was with the food which, on the outbound run
out of Sydney was quite awful. On the other hand, the cabin crew came around with massive helpings
of fresh fruit and wine was always available if one asked for it. I had a window seat both ways and
managed to get some good rest. I enjoyed the TV "Parkinson Show" on the main screen on the way home
very much, especially when accompanied by a good wine. I would rate the experience as 3 Stars SYD-
HNL and 4 Stars HNL-SYD.

Star Class Mel-Syd-Dps. This airline does not have anything like business class. The first leg from
Mel-Syd the check in tried to insist I had to fly economy even though my ticket clearly stated Star
Class on all flights. The main flight to Bali was fair. The food is the same they make economy
passengers pay for and the video unit has to go on the floor when food arrives as there is nowhere
to put it. It is just not worth going Jetstar and unless the flights in economy are seriously
discounted, this airline is budget only in it's operation, not it's costs.

Sydney-Phuket-Sydney in Star Class. Second time I have flown on this route in Star class and still
think its great. If you are a seasoned business class traveller and always expect flat beds etc you
would be bitterly disappointed but I found it great value for money. The staff were fantastic both
ways - friendly and helpful. The food was quite tasty but wasn't presented well at all. Shrivelled
and looked overcooked but actually wasn't. There seemed to be a lot of problems with the digiplayers
not working properly - not a dram as our cabin wasn't full but can imagine on full flight could be a
problem. We were booked to fly back in economy class and once again paid for the upgrade to Star
Class on departure at Phuket airport which for $300 AUD pp - think its great to get some rest up
the front.

My flight Osaka to Brisbane was trouble-free. Crew helpful, if slow, considering the aircraft was
about one-third (or less) full. Slow to answer buzzer or didn't bother at all. Meals are good. My
complaint is that I was charged $68.00 for 5kgs overweight luggage, hardly necessary when the
aircraft was conspicuously far from fully occupied. I understand the conditions of carriage, but
obviously staff do have options to waive such fees - other airlines do - under conditions like
those on my flight. Most passengers had whole rows to lie down on the overnight flight home -
hardly crowded, and my excess luggage charge was hardly an impressive exercise in positive PR for
Jetstar! Is this how they top up their coffers on their cheap flights?

Sunshine Coast-Sydney return 7-9 March. Surprisingly comfortable for somebody over 6ft tall although
anything more than 1 or 2 hours would be a bit of a challenge. Jetstar fulfils the requirement to
get from A to B by air without any frills or thrills. Cockpit PA's were unintelligable in volume and
clarity, hopefully I didn't miss some pertinent safety instruction.

Brisbane - Christchurch on a QF coded flight. You pay for Qantas and end up on Jetstar. If you're
on a Qantas flight you expect food, drinks, entertainment but instead you have nothing unless you
pay extra for it. The flight attendants were pleasant, plane was clean. But it doesn't get around
the fact that you are on a Qantas-coded flight and getting less than you would get on a similar
flight on an actual Qantas plane. Not fair!

SYD-KUL-SYD. Second time flying return international with Jetstar and quite satisfied with the
experience. The planes were clean and looked new, the seats were as comfortable as standard Qantas
economy. Air quality seemed decent for most of the flight until close to the end. The AirVOD
portable units seem to work better than on my first flight and the movie selection was newer, but
they are still unwieldy. Cabin entertainment was not great and I would bring an alternative along if
aren't going to hire an AirVOD. Food and beverage prices are more expensive than a takeaway, but
better than a cinema or other captive event. Food quality was quite good too. Mostly Thai crew were
friendly, but I was scolded by one for using my digital camera during descent despite the safety
card saying we could do so. You don't get the same quality of service and experience as on Qantas
mainline, but when you consider some of Jetstar's incredible sale fares it can be well worth it.

Cairns to Singapore return January 2008. Flight to Singapore was acceptable, only just. Seating
very uncomfortable, very little leg room. Food terrible. The return flight to Cairns, which should
have taken about 7 hours, instead took almost 13 hours. We could not land in Cairns due to bad
weather and were diverted to Townsville (a further 45 minutes flying time) The crew were very
pleasant, but very inexperienced and incapable of dealing with the problems we experienced on this
flight. After spending over 2 hours on the tarmac at Townsville, we eventually returned to Cairns
and landed almost six hours later than scheduled. During our problems, we were offered no food and
there was only a few bottles of water remaining on board. The crew were inexperienced to handle
problems with passengers.

SYD-HNL. Very poor service as we had pre paid for our meals and when it was our turn to be served
they had run out. No apology from flight attendant - all she gave us was the complaints address to
Jetstar. We have written to them for a refund on our meals and they have not responded. We also
purchased the DVD entertainment systems before flying and we received these - one wouldn't work and
the other one went flat within 15min. Again the flight attendant couldn't replace them as they had
none left. Very poor service on their long haul flights. For the extra couple of hundred dollars fly
a fully serviced airline

MEL-BKK-MEL Star Class. The crew were pleasant and attentive. Seating was standard former Qantas
domestic business class which was adequate. Food was ok, it is certainly not business class but you

Maybe priority baggage claim for Star Class passengers would be an advantage. Value for money - you
can't complain and would definitely fly Star Class again.

HNL-SYD left & arrived on time but very disinterested crew, food barely justified the $US25 extra
charge for this - and crew did not bother serving tea/coffee after any food run. Apparently one was
expected to know to go to the galley, or buzz for same.At least check-in was expedited somewhat at
HNL by having a Qantas Club card which was helpful given the queues & the early hour. Their gate at
HNL seemed to be the furthest from check-in that could be found /cheaper ? It makes Hawaiian seem a
preferable alternative as a cheapie on this route.

OOL-SYD January 6th. Check in slightly chaotic at Gold Coast airport. In queue for 30 minutes and
watched as passengers from later flights were moved to the back of the line. What do they expect
with their 30 minute cut-off time when people arrive "extra" early to do the right thing. 3 check-in
counters operating and I was processed quickly and offered an emergency row seat. Boarding was quite
controlled and we took off on time. The lack of service was noticeable with most of the
announcements pre-recorded and played through the pa system on the aircraft. Arrived in Sydney ahead
of schedule but landed on a runway which meant a 10 minute taxi to terminal (not Jetstars fault of
course). Overall an uninspiring experience with a budget airline - but you get what you pay for. A
friend had flown from MEL-OOL with Tiger Airways and found out they limit checked-in luggage to 15
kgs. She had enough time to get back to the long-term parking at Melbourne Airport and divest
herself of 5kgs of luggage- repack and then check-in!!! Travellers beware!! At least Jetstar give
you 20 kg!!

probably sucks. Bring your own or fly on Qantas and pay $300 for a couple of meals and drinks.
Economy class cabin had more legroom for my 6'3" frame than my AA flight from DFW to HNL. Also more
legroom than my QF flight from SYD-CNS. This is a budget airline. You are paying for safe
transport from point A to point B. Don't expect to be waited on for that price.

Brisbane-Sydney-Osaka-Brisbane. Economy. The flight from Brisbane was delayed by an hour without any
info to passengers. So everybody ended up waiting at the gate for over an hour. Because of this
delay, we arrived in Sydney 30 minutes before the flight departure to Osaka and had to run in the
airport. There was very little leg space on the plane. The entertainment left much to be desired.
The menu was poor and overpriced. On the positive side, the price was a sale price and hence very
cheap. Without a big sale, I won't fly with Jetstar again.

SYD-KUL-SYD in Economy. Much better than expected. Service was good, seats were comfortable with a
decent amount of legroom and recline. Planes were relatively new and clean. This was my first
experience on Jetstar and it certainly won't be the last. My only complaint is the return leg, which
is an overnight flight, where meals were only served after nearly 2 hours simply because crew had to
sort out other orders such as entertainment and comfort packs first and this eats into the time when
passengers want to get some sleep.

SYD to HNL the fourth sector of my round the World trip. The flight was due to depart at 18:00 but due
to problems with the aircraft there was a delay of 4 hours. The ground staff at Sydney Airport who
were on duty that night dealt with the situation in an exemplary manner, Not only making announcements
over the public address system at frequent intervals and telling customers when the next update would
be given but also staff were on hand at the gate to deal with one to one customer enquiries. A text
book example of how to deal with a potentially difficult customer relations situation. Customer care
also extended to the flight and cabin crew – who were equally frustrated with the delay – but they
quickly put everyone at their ease making sure that all passengers were fed and watered! An excellent
example of a budget airline handling things well even when things go wrong

Saigon to Sydney, plane less than half full. Found legroom not too bad (I'm 6 feet tall). A night
flight service OK. We had booked our flights on the Qantas website meaning we got Vietnam Airlines on
the way out and Jetstar on the way back. Tan Son Nhat airport in Saigon has gone upmarket with a new
terminal so the old the prices are now "World Class" and the old convenience store seems to have
dissapeared. By booking as a Qantas flight we did receive a light meal and light breakfast although
we only found this out when our boarding pass had the word "pack" under our names and recorded that we
were frequent flyers as well. The pack also included a blanket and headphones. Water is available in
a dispenser in the toilets otherwise its fee for service. Not bad - the extra's a nice surprise,
plane left on time and arrived on time.

SYD-HNL-MEL. We used Frequent Flyer points for these flights and were very impressed with Jetstar.
Boarding in Sydney a bit haphazard, but each flight left and arrived on time. My advice would be to
pre-order the entertainment pack, although flying to Honolulu we were able to hire one onboard (we
forgot to order it when we booked our flights) on the return flight home there weren't any spare packs
so there were some disappointed travellers we overheard complaining to the crew. Anyone without their
own little entertainment system had to be content with a movie and about 3 TV shows shown throughout
the flight. We didn't eat the meals but the travellers next to us on the flight to Honolulu were
quite impressed with it all and we were happy to purchase the odd packet of crackers of cheese, and a
diet coke or two for when we were peckish. The crew were really professional, friendly and helpful
and the seats pretty roomy and comfortable by economy standards. We used the toilets only once each
for each flight, so perhaps we were lucky with our timing, but we found them to be spotless and
without odour. The entertainment pack on the way over was worth the money, I watched 2 movies and
several different TV programs which made the flight just fly by. I just remembered that I lost my
wedding band on the flight over, I was fiddling with it and it spun away from me. The flight
attendant was so helpful and luckily I found it when we landed and she pulled the seat apart for me.
The woman in front of me lost her earring and another flight attendant found it by the toilet, a
number of seats away on the opposite side to where she was seated, and brought it to her. It was
these sorts of things that made the crew come across as really kind and not too busy to care about
their passengers. I must admit that not having to pay for the flights may have made us a bit more
easy-going, but compared to our experiences on other airlines we couldn't find fault with Jetstar.
Dress warmly too, this advice isn't just for Jetstar flights but airlines these days are cold!

Brisbane-Adelaide. This is the first flight out of Brisbane to Adelaide in the morning, and arrives
at an ideal time, as you don't lose the morning's business. (I don't know why QF doesn't offer this
time slot?) The new A320 aircraft was 3/4 full. Seat pitch is about the same as a QF B737 - however
the new leather seats are a nice touch. DVD players offered after takeoff for a rental of $AUD10 -
which is a good option as it offers movies. Pay-per-use catering was quite good, as the offerings
were real food at reasonable prices - I got a nice muffin and cup of coffee for $5.00, which is
cheaper than airport prices. The cabin crew were very pleasant and highly attentive. We arrived in
Adelaide 5 minutes ahead of schedule. In terms of cabin space and service, this airline has the
appearance of a full service carrier! The only difference is that you have to pay for what you use on
board. I highly recommend Jetstar.

HKG-SIN. Strange arrangement of checking in at HKIA T2 with long trek to T1 to board a shuttle (about
7-8 mins ride) before reaching the aircraft. Flight was full and was assigned a middle seat although I
checked in shortly after the counter was opened. Take-off was nearly half hour behind schedule. FAs
sounded cheerful but were obviously overworked. Inflight meal of chicken rice (no choice) and 330ml of
bottled water cost S$10 and S$3 respectively. Chicken rice was of very poor quality and value - rice
overcooked and dried, three miserable chunks of tough, bland chicken and one small leafy veg that was
straggly and overcooked, served with a tiny container of chilli sauce. Credit card not accepted and
even if you pay with HK$ the FA will give change only in S$. Overall, I think taking Tiger Airlines
from SIN is better value and less cumbersome, even though Jetstar's seats are more comfortable.

Melbourne - Launceston return booked at last minute for 2 adults and 2 children. Surprisingly got very
good fares booking at 4pm day before for next mornings flights using Jetstar website. Only problem was
that system would not allow me to request specific seats - too close to departure! Ridiculous
considering Jetstars parent Qantas and Virgin both allow you to change seats right up to dep time via
their online check ins. Check in was quick and efficient. Seating allocated for family in one row.
Boarding of A320 commenced early. Plane was clean. Seating is a bit cramped - fine for short flight
but would not want to do anything more than 2 hours on a full plane. Crew friendly but efficient.
Bought packet of pringles chips for kids at $3 which was reasonable. Menu was good for flight time of
50 mins and prices reasonable. Return flight: Found lots of rubbish on floor at our seats. Didnt make
for good impression! Female attendant offered help with our autistic child when he got out of seat
during flight. Fairly understanding of problem! No problems bringing own food on board. Bags were on
carousel by time we reached it. Overall we were impressed with Jetstar. Found them almost identical to
Virgin Blue but much cheaper fares. They just need to do something about cleaning rubbish at
turnaround ports.

JetStar Star Class BKK-MEL-BKK for a very reasonable $1800 USD return. The aircraft was new, seats
quite comfortable in terms of width and leg support. The recline was acceptable for a premium economy
product but not like a real business class product. Bulkhead seats are a definite plus with JetStar
as seat pitch for the other rows is really not acceptable, making it too hard to get into and out of
your seat when the person in front is reclined. The portable DigiPlayers are really great. I found
them easy to use, fully on-demand, and they had lots of good programming. The food was nothing
special, but acceptable. JetStar has found the sweet spot between comfort and price.

SYD-HNL Star Class (Premium Economy). For the price you really can't go wrong. We paid $1800 return

enthusiastic and nothing was a problem. It will be a better experience once Jetstar receive 787's

Speaking of the food, I find it surprising Neil Perry has put his name to it! No wonder Rockpool is
closing in Sydney. All in all a good premium economy product I would fly them again.

SYD/KUL (seats 1JK) and KUL/SYD (seats 1AB) in Star Class. Was surprisingly better than I had
anticipated. Seats were ok - didn't recline very far, but still better than economy, although I
wouldn't have wanted to be behind with seats reclining in front of me - as you wouldn't be able to get
out. The food is great (there are 3 choices of the hot meal) and you have access to the QF lounge in
Sydney and the Plaza Premium lounge in Kuala Lumpur. The inflight entertainment is absolutely awful.
You are given tiny little portable units that have to sit on your tray (or you hold them in your
hands) with very limited choices. Sound and clarity were poor. The 'amenity' kit of blanket,
eyeshades and toothbrush is also a bit poor (even for a low cost airline), but the staff were (with
one exception) all terrific and make your travel experience a good one. On time into KL and only 30
minutes delayed arriving back into Sydney (due to a baggage delay in KL. Star Class was ok (if the
price were low enough I might do it again), but I wouldn't travel in economy - they were really packed
in!

Singapore-Darwin. First time flight with Jetstar and hopefully the last. Had paid over the odds for
Qantas operated flight for no frills whatsoever. Transfer desk at Singapore took 60 mins to get

heating up during flight to get everyone to sleep. FA's fairly efficient however looked tired and
bored. Food awful. Asked for choice between beef and rice and fish pasta. All in all, this is budget
and had I not paid over the odds through Qantas for the direct flight to Darwin, it may have been
tolerable. However the whole experience left me really disappointed and let down. Qantas really need
to review if they want to keep affiliated with Jetstar as to my mind it damages the brand overall.

Jetstar Star Class Sydney/Honolulu return. Seats were very hard to get in and out of when the person

Qantas f/flyer poiNts at the business class rates (if you can ever redeem them), can use Qantas

seats. If Jetstar wish to make a go of star class it must upgrade the seats and

BNE-Cairns return. Check in is frustratingly slow and staff do not know the seat layout details. My
wife asked for a window seat on check in and we were allocated seats at the very rear of the plane
which had no window. The priority boarding for passengers with young children does not exist in
practice as all passengers are herded onto buses to convey you to the plane steps, then as the bus
doors open it is everyone for themselves in the stampede for the plane steps. Once onboard, we found
the floor areas covered with ground in sandwiches from passengers from the previous inward flight.
Upon pointing out this to a male member of the cabin crew, he stated they did not notice it on there
walk through the cabin and then walked off! About 15 mins later the cabin crew supervisor approached
us and had a look for himself. He said there was nothing they could do and also walked away without
an apology! Thankfully, we had a different set of cabin crew on the return journey who seemed to be
able to smile and speak politely to its customers. I will be flying other domestic airlines within
Australia with my family whilst residing here in the future. I will only consider Jetstar as a last
resort.

also flown with Virgin Blue and find it interesting they are regarded as the superior of the two low-
cost carriers. At 6'4" I feel the legroom issue more than most. I have quite often been allocated the
exit row on Jetstar, but even when I haven't, I find JQ's seating a better alternative to Virgin's
narrow seats with poor legroom. The downside to Jetstar is their check-in. There always seems to be
only a couple of people checking in the entire flight, and they always seem quite slow at the job.
This happens not only in LST, but BNE and MEL as well. It can be frustrating queuing unnecessarily.
Apart from that, the inflight food is ok - no more overpriced than the competitors. Overall, I would
recommend Jetstar as a low-cost alternative.

Used Jetstar for Newcastle to Brisbane leg and return a week later, and Virgin from Brisbane to Cairns
and return. Both Jetstar flights delayed. The cabin crew were pleasant and the pilot apologetic on
both flights. Jetstar A320 is better to fly than Virgin 737's because of slightly more room and newer
aircraft, however Jetstar need to get it's act together regarding keeping to it's schedule. The chap I
was sitting alongside on the last leg to Newcastle, had flown several times over the previous 2 weeks
with Jetstar, and said none of those flights had been anywhere near on time.

Sydney-Phuket return. Two really good flights, new aircraft, comfortable leather seats, average IFE,
good range of Movies/Audio. Food OK. Crew exceptional - young and enthuastic, pay for meal service was
slow so better to pre pay for all of your meals. Overall a good product - but you have to remember Low
Cost is Low Cost -none of the extra toppings regular airlines offer - but Jetstar's prices reflect
their product - would certainly fly with them again

Gold Coast-Syd-ret. Early morning departure and following day mid-afternoon return. Both flights
less than half full. Internet platform a breeze to use, though watch out - if using overseas credit
cards, you will be skanked - payment by overseas currency only. My luggage was 1.5 kg over - but
wasn't charged. Seating is allocated at time of booking, and boarding is in groups - the earlier you
check in, the earlier you board. Service was professional, crew smiled and seemed genuinely pleased
to be there. Pity the same can't always be said about mainline Qantas. Pilots made anouncements
prior to taxi and again during the flight, pointing out which point of interest could be seen from
which side of the aircraft. Nice touch. On board, the leather seats impress, but pitch is very
tight. Both departures and arrivals on time. Luggage took less than 10 mins to make an appearance.
Difference to Qantas? No free food, no IFE, and much smaller pitch. Passengers can still use the
Qantas Club lounges (I'm Gold/Sapphire with One-World). Overall, close to five-stars for a low-cost
carrier.

I fly at least 4times a year between Honolulu and Sydney in business class and Jetstar has so far
proven to be a great airline considering the airfare. But there's also an inconvenience, I have to ask
my friends in Sydney to book my tickets cause it is not possible to book my trips online to originate
in Honolulu. And that I don't find comfortable. I think it is important to consider allowing via your
website for people to book trips from USA to Australia. Right now it only allows to book from
Australia to Honolulu. Jetstar has a lot of potential to grow but they have to make themselves
accessible on international levels. they are no longer just a domestic carrier.

MEL-BKK return in Star class. A330-200 was fairly new so seats etc in good condition. Would recommend
trying to get front row in Starclass (business) as the leg room is unimpeded. Getting in and out of
window seats is a nightmare because of the arm rest. I've had less trouble doing this on a Qantas
jumbo in economy! Food is pretty mundane but the flight crew was terrific with nothing was an effort.
IFE units are good but some of the noise cancelling headphones can be dodgy. Flight left on time from
Melbourne but the return was an hour late leaving Bangkok. All in all not a bad experience.
