Düsseldorf - Bangkok. After on-line check-in baggage drop-off quick and smooth. Having booked
single trip had to show booking for onward travel. Seated on front row in center of cabin
reasonable (or economy class) legroom. Service and meals adequate. Good value for money. IFE
outdated, but not needed by us.

I am flying Air Berlin regular between STR and HAM. Flights are usually in time and operated
by new aircraft. Friendly staff, snack is offered (nothing special but its only a one hour
flight) and beverage as well. Even wine is offered for free. After the flight you get a
chocolate heart.

Terrible service, very unfriendly cabin crew. We made a reservation for vegetarian food.
Before our trip we received confirmation, but they said there was no reservation at all.
'Sorry sir, now you don't have food - it's your problem not ours'. And it's quite a long trip
from Dusseldorf to Bangkok. Also very small seats.

DUS–HKT Don't like Babies? Families with babies over one year cannot reserve baby places in
the dedicated rows - mostly located in the front area. Only the cramped rows remain. But the
first row, actually for families, was occupied with a pensioner couple. In no case I would
fly again with Air Berlin and a child between 1 and 2 years. There was no baby food on board.

TXL-CUN via Munich on 26 JAN 2010. A330, pillows and blankets on the seats upon boarding,
main meal very good, snacks were limited but second light meal was good. A glass of wine was
served to those who wanted it during the flight. Overall the service was excellent with Air
Berlin - flight attendants spoke German and English and were pleasant and helpful.

I got rebooked with this airline due to delay in Brussels. Can say that flying with Air Berlin
was the first time I ever felt being treated as cattle. Only 3 toilets in airplane, non
working entertainment system throughout half airplane. You must pay for everything, even the
headphones on a long haul flight. Staff rude, had to tell them every time that I don't speak
German. I cannot recommend this airline to anyone.

OSL-TXL-BKK. We ordered a special gluten free meal, a week before departure - but Air Berlin
couldn't manage to have this in place upon departure. No one could tell us if the order was in
place, and the crew was rather arrogant. Be prepared to speak German, as the crew does not
speak English very well. Tight seats with almost no room for legs if you are taller than
170cm. You have to pay for everything, even headphones for the 10 hour long flight from TXL to
BKK. No personal entertainment. You cannot pay with credit card unless you spend more than 10
Euros. Next time, I'll pay a little bit more to fly with an airliner with better service.

Return flight from Dusseldorf to La Romana (Dominican Republic). Air Berlin uses A330 (taken
over from defunct LTU). Seat pitch in Economy is incredibly tight (even tighter than
Lufthansa). This might not be important for a flight that lasts less than 2 hrs but it is
important for a long haul flight. Onboard service was all right, meals edible and the quantity
was sufficient. They offered free drinks before and during the main course. Afterwards
alcoholic drinks had to be paid for. Flight attendants were professional. No seat IFE, just
big screens. Air Berlin in reality means two different products - on short haul flights they
offer an excellent product unmatched by most companies. On long haul flights it can be an
ordeal. Unfortunately there is little alternative flying from Germany to the Dominican
Republic. Condor is another carrier but their seat pitch is at least as tight.

BKK-DUS-HEL. First leg A330-200, nearly full. Got the seat to the last row but I had both
seats for myself. Aircraft clean, no personal IFE. It helped that throughout the whole 11 hour
flight there was no moment of darkness and one could see the landscape. Having a book with me
helped as well. There were two meal times, the first started not very early and I was a bit
surprised that the second meal came just few hours later. The food itself wasn't great but
still fine - a pleasant surprise was a snack before arrival. Cabin crew didnt seem very
friendly but no major complaints. In Dusseldorf there was 40 minute delay, not great when
scheduled arrival to Helsinki is near to midnight! The flight itself was all right, a sandwich
was given with drinks. Overall, considering cheap one-way ticket, the experience was better
than expected, but good price has something to do with it.

VIE-TXL-VIE operated with A320. Both flights with new aircraft, comfortable seats with great
legroom. On morning flight muffin or roll was offered, on evening flight sandwich or chocolate
bar was available + good choice of soft drinks free of charge. Nice and professional crew. A
great experience for 108 EUR and miles to FFP.

I have flown several times with Air Berlin between LED and TXL/DUS. Service not worse than on
any other airline, and given the price, surprisingly good experiences. Booking easy and
transparent. Flights on time. The airline is out of control of the unpleasant parts about
those trips, namely the endless queues at all airports, in Russia due to traditional
bureaucracy, and in Germany due to something like looks a slowdown strike in security and
passport control.

DUS-TXL-DUS. DUS-TXL on A320, decent seats, legroom okay. Food service a bag of crisps or a
pack of hazelnut wafers, drinks standard. Flight attendants were a bit brusque, but still
friendly. TXL-DUS an early morning flight - scheduled to be on another A320, but was operated
on a worn-out B737-700 by Germania. Seat terribly cramped - apparently, cabin had not been
refurbished after introducing smoking bans on aircraft as a yellowish patina was present. Food
service consisted of "re-heated pretzel roll" (quote of flight attendant), service was not
very attentive, no smiles. Overall, a not so nice experience; it seems that the travel
experience depends largely on the subsidiary which is operating the flight. However, flight
was value for money - paid about 90 EUR return incl taxes, which easily makes one forget about
unpleasurable experiences. However, I still prefer Lufthansa.

BKK-TXL-BKK route for about 10 hrs. Annoyingly narrow seat rows, advisable to book window
seats in order to relax at least a little bit by leaning your head against the wall. I guess
you get what you pay for. All the rest, food, service, etc. were fine.

Hanover to Vienna. A319. Seat 7F, pleasant experience. Flight on time, nice cabin crew. I
paid alot for the flight, as I was booking hours before takeoff. All in all a very pleasant
experience and am happy to recommend Air Berlin.
