"rude passport control"
I Garlen (Ireland)
✅ Trip Verified | Arrogant, unprofessional and rude passport control police officers, without a smile or greeting. Do not expect anything better. Welcome to the Balkans. Although they think highly about them selves being western European country, with western standards, they are far, far away from the west.

"special assist for disabled passengers is terrible"
S Deane (Slovenia)
✅ Trip Verified | The special assist for disabled passengers is terrible. Passengers are removed from the aeroplane and asked to walk through baggage and passport control. We were two disabled passengers and when I stated that we required wheelchairs we were told that it’s not a long walk. Having used this airport many times I know this to be untrue and insisted on wheelchairs and assistance to which he rolled his eyes, tutted, and replied “There are only five if us and seven wheelchairs!” To which I replied “Well you better go and get them then”. The first passenger was attended to after 10 minutes. I waited half an hour. Once escorted to the Cafe Nero at the exit I ordered a coffee from the bar and when I asked if they could carry it outside to a table (5 metres away) they, yet again refused, even though I had a walking stick and a small bag. By the time I got to a table I had spilled half the coffee. One cannot help but feel that disabled passengers are considered a nuisance here. Very disappointing

"a small but clean airport"
13 reviews S Xu (Singapore)
✅ Trip Verified | Zagreb Airport is a small but clean airport. The airport staff were generally friendly, helpful and efficient. Moderate queuing time. Seating area was a bit crowded during busy hours and lacking charging sockets around seats. Fast and free WiFi.

"Worst experience I have had"
V Irving (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Been waiting in line for passport control for two and a half hours. Worst experience I have had. Only one controller for the whole queue. Some official kept coming with other passengers "hand in hand" and placing them in front of the queue. And to make things even worse, that single controller kept leaving his work post every now and then.

"Modern looking airport, but inefficiently designed"
Jane Hudson (United States)
Not Verified | Overall: Modern looking airport, but inefficiently designed. Inefficient and incompetent customer service (with an average IQ of about 70). Recommendation: If you want to travel to Zagreb, use Graz (Austria) airport and rent a car; or land in Vienna and take a 1.5hr, super modern, rapid and inexpensive train to Graz and then rent a car. If you travel to Istra (northern Croatian coast), take a direct plane to Pula (Istra) or Trieste (Italy). The less money you spend at Zagreb airport (and Croatia in general), the better you'll feel. (1) No access to free phone service. For example, if you are from outside of the EU, and do not have local cell phone service, and need to call airline company to change the ticket, you can't! There are also no tellers where you can go and ask to use a phone. (2) Wi-fi is disastrously slow. At 0.5-1.5 Mb/sec, this speed is insufficient to browse internet, change your ticket online, or make a wi-fi call. (3) Foreign airlines have no permanent tellers, so after check-in is closed, there is no way to get in touch with that specific airline. (see 1 and 2 above). (4) The local personnel behind "information desk" (ID) gives incorrect or misleading info. I was late for a check-in, and teller told me to walk across the airport to talk to some other person, who then referred me back to the Information Desk. This roundabout, circular walking of customers from one teller to another, without anyone assisting the customer is a signature of Croatian bureaucracy! (5) Car rentals are found out in the open, a 10 minute walk from the airport. There is absolutely no overhead protection at any of the rental agencies. If it's raining, you'll be soaked wet, as will your luggage. (6) Beyond coffee/drinks, there aren't any healthy food options, so if you're stuck at the airport, your best option is to fast. Munich and Vienna airports have excellent super/mini-markets. (7) Check in is a bit chaotic, with local travelers acting like they grew up in a barn (pushing, not knowing how to form a line), and local employees not being able to issue clear instructions. (8) Almost the only way to and from the airport is by car. There is no rail between the airport and the city. (compared to Paris, Vienna, Munich etc..). There's a bus service between main train station in Zagreb and airport but the service is unreliable and irregular. On a positive note: (1) It's a modern looking airport (2) Waiting lounge outside on a terrace has with big, comfortable cushions. (3) Premises are clean.

"clean, functional, easy to navigate"
25 reviews Angelo Menezes (Portugal)
✅ Trip Verified | What a nice airport: clean, functional, easy to navigate, with good shopping options. It is also spacious and staff are nice, despite security needing a little more organization, as it felt chaotic. The architecture is really nice too.

"the worst airport i have ever used"
David Nawab (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Had a wait between flights and used the lounge. I then found I couldn’t get to my gate. Went back to passport control and a official not in uniform was very rude towards me and shouted me down. There are no signs to help you, prices are sky high. This is the worst airport i have ever used!

"the worst airport ever"
Nevena Saric (Belgium)
✅ Trip Verified | I have never seen in my life and I am not young, more stupid and unnecessary security procedures applied. I got on the plane in Brussels, my bags checked, boarded the plane, arrived at Zagreb on my way to Dubrovnik and was asked to take all the liquids if any of the bag, remove my shoes, and pass trough metal detector. How on earth this is justified? How? Furthermore, since the airport is new, I have no idea what happened to food offerings, it is the most plastic food, no taste, choice quite limited. And who has in the country like Croatia or Italy on offer nothing but ice cream from Norway! Airport overall is the worst airport ever.

"very disappointed"
B Mannion (Belgium)
✅ Trip Verified | I am very disappointed with the way customer service was handled in Zagreb airport. My baggage was lost (because of Brussels Airlines) and that is a separate issue. However, at the baggage service of Zagreb airport, I was only spoken to for less than two minutes and in a very curt manner. I was then given a number to call so as to get information on my baggage status, two days later and I have called this number almost continuously for 48 hours (during the opening times of the customer service) and not once did someone answer or call me back. I understand losing baggage is a normal issue, but I do not understand how it isn’t possible to ignore your customers in this way and leave them panicked and alone.

"reasonably modern airport"
9 reviews K Novak (United Kingdom)
Zagreb Pleso airport is a large, reasonably modern airport with little traffic. I had a connecting flight to Split. There was two flights to Split at the same time. Only one was reported on the bulletin board. As a result, I flew a few hours late. There is an information mess at the airport. Pretty big airport and there is no smoking area.
