"lack of good customer service"

(Norway)

I had connecting flights both to and from the US at CGG, and while I thought the airport was nice and clean, there's a lack of good customer service and overall the staff are not very helpful or friendly. Their English skills are sub par and while I understand they're French and that language can often be a problem, it's an international airport. Most of them are rude and snap at people. The connecting flight waiting room is a joke. Also, the choice of stores and shopping opportunities is scarce. I will avoid using this airport in the future.

"long lines with minimal staff on hand"

(United States)

Minimal signage, lack of monitors with current departure information, long lines with minimal staff on hand to control large number of people negotiating their way to their connecting flight, out of order elevator at gate 2E, once at the level to catch the bus to M the area was so crowded that people couldn't get off or onto the elevator, minimal staff (one person that I saw) in charge of assisting travelers to the correct bus, incredibly crowded bus, and then a run through an almost empty terminal to our gate. Felt very unsafe due to the pushing crowd all of whom were concerned they were going to miss their flights. Needs vast improvement.

"warm welcome from AF staff at the lounge"

(France)

17 minutes from the curb side to the AF lounge at gates L, including immigration, people mover to get to the satellite and security. Warm welcome from AF staff at the lounge.

"I was pleasantly surprised"

(Ireland)

Paris CDG Terminal 3. That is the low cost one for you and even though I was expecting the worst I was pleasantly surprised. Not too busy, fairly nice staff and very efficient. The only downside is a longish walk to the RER station which in case of rain can be unpleasant but other than that I am happy to fly there again

"importantly there is plenty of seating"

(Slovenia)

Paris CDG, Terminal 2 is excellent. If you have a transit they drop you directly at the terminal building. From there you have a walking distance to all the gates. There is plenty of shops, restaurants and importantly there is plenty of seating. The building itself is modern, colourful and it is very manageable to transit at the terminal 2 (in comparison to Terminal 1, which I avoid at any costs).

"not enough seating for all the passengers"

(Slovenia)

Terminal 1 at Paris CDG is terrible. It is a rounded building and elevator stairs are going in all directions. In a second you really do not know where to exit and where to go. It is quite confusing and would not recommend it. The waiting area after the check in and security is very basic, there is not enough seating for all the passengers, there is only one shop. If you arrive and you manage to navigate to the exit, there is a long corridor below the ground to the main terminal building of Terminal 1 where you get your luggage. Expect to walk a lot. I would not reccoment Terminal 1 at CDG Paris if you are traveling solo or a family. Terminal 2 - B and D are much better.

"layout of the airport is also difficult to navigate"

(United States)

Be warned - Paris CDG Airport has a broken baggage handling system. They do not track bags through this airport. Traveling with a group of 4 through this airport twice resulted in 5 of 8 bags lost. Because they do not scan baggage it is nearly impossible to know when your baggage will arrive until it is transferred to an airport that scans and tracks luggage. Helpful and apologetic employees admit that the system does not work, but can only guess when bags will arrive. The layout of the airport is also difficult to navigate, and we were required to travel in and out of security to reach connecting flights. This is a huge disadvantage when trying to make connecting flights. Talking to an airport employee near security we explained that we needed to reach our gate to make a flight. After looking at our flight time he flatly said we had no chance of making it. I would have thought an hour and a half lay-over would be sufficient to walk from one gate to another. Apparently at CDG things are different. The place was clean, there was lots of shopping, and the free WiFi worked. It is not all horrible, but the primary purpose of an airport is to help you and your belongings get you from one place to another. In that respect this airport has failed.

"staff were very pleasant"

(United Kingdom)

Having flown out of Paris CDG years ago and been far from impressed, I wasn't looking forward to a lengthy transit on my way to/from South America. Terminal 2E, Zone K turned out to be grand, although with most of the shops being upmarket and overpriced, a comfortable seat and a good book was preferable for me. Security was quick and staff were very pleasant, but it was the first time I ever had to take off my money belt where my passport normally stays and was rather anxious about losing it. Having seen the shops, the food court was surprisingly more down-to-earth (its location out of sight on the first floor probably reflecting this.) Toilets in the terminal were rather crowded - if you want to freshen up after a long haul flight, avail of the ones in the transit lounge which are much bigger.

Paris CDG Airport customer review

(Australia)

I travelled between Paris and Manchester. Air France staff nowhere to be seen. No signage indicating gate or even where to queue, it was a shambles. People everywhere trying to get directions. However my long haul flight with Emirates was a breeze. Helpful staff, easy to find gate and flight information. Maybe I got Air France on a bad day.

Paris CDG Airport customer review

(France)

Been at Paris fairly recently for a transatlantic flight on United. United, that means the good old Terminal 1, with its fancy escalators that give a certain spirit to this terminal. My experience at the check-in counter was excellent: all the counters were empty, just waiting for me. I've never waited more than a couple of minutes at the check-in anyway. Guess it's because of the low amount of flights processed at the hours I had my flights. But here comes the critic: The border agents are never nice. Been at CDG dozen of times, and I have never had a single agent smiling, nor even replying to my "Hello" and "Goodbye". This is really where the red flag raises. Besides that, I passed the security within seconds, which was nice. They even closed that security lane because nobody was coming a few moments after I passed. The amount of shops airside is pretty low and disappointing. Guess there should be some improvements on that. Overall, Paris airport is an airport Ii'm pleased to go through when I need to.
