Paphos Airport

We landed to this airport with a Ryanair flight from Patras Greece. This airport is not very big there were 2 long lines to pass customs but waiting was not too long. The airport is connected to the cities of Paphos and Limassol by bus. Security clearance went smoothly on my return flight. There's a few duty shops after security and the staff at the information desk is helpful. Overall Paphos airport is good enough.

Only use this airport in the low season when it is adequate. But there is a strange anomaly in that passengers who have printed their boarding cards only have cabin luggage and so go straight to security then are called for at the boarding gate to change their boarding passes for another issued by the handling agent. This causes confusion and disrupts the orderly queuing at the boarding gate.

Airport unable to cope peak day on a Wednesday. Why only 2 out of 4 hand baggage scanners in use on the busiest day of the week? The air conditioning was not working properly. People sitting on the floor standing waiting for flights because of insufficient seats. Catering areas overcrowded by passengers who could not find anywhere else to sit. Flights delayed departing because of poor organisation of transfer buses from gate to plane. Avoid Wednesdays and weekends - nearly as bad as the old terminal.

Airport clean practical efficient. Avoid Executive Lounge - 40 euros each we were charged for small unclean cramped overcrowded lounge. Staff slow poor attitude - nothing going for it at all.

There is nothing much for kids and adults to do there is an odd cafe and shop selling over priced KitKats and a duty free shop which is extremely overpriced. The terminal lounge is small and they take a very long time to update the departure times. A fair airport but Larnaca is a much better airport.

Very attractive newly built small terminal. Arrivals and baggage handling good. Check-in pleasant and well staffed. Computers could not cope with code-share and onward connection but staff friendly and helpful. Executive lounge comfortable and well stocked. We were there when it was quiet – might be a different experience when there are many charter flights in at the same time.

We are frequent visitors to Paphos Airport and and have frequently used the Lounge as Cyprus Airways Sunjet members. On our last visit the New Airport was open but we were refused entry to the Lounge because it was under 'New Management.' Sadly Cyprus Airways are too busy to reply to my requests for an explanation - and refund. Has anyone else suffered?

I have recently flown from the new terminal after experiencing many flights from the old terminal building in Paphos. I have to say that it was much better. The space is typical of a new airport and the layout is functional. Yes they still bus you to and from the aircraft but they do that at several UK small airports. I didn't have to wait to check in but it was December and I know how crowded it gets in the summer.

I have used Paphos about 6 times over last 2 years and always had a good quick friendly service. The new terminal is open and although 'budget' build/decor increases capacities quite a lot. No Skywalks - still the bussing.

We are regular travellers to Paphos and never experienced delays discomfort or anything. I would like to comment how clean friendly and professional the airport and staff were. Looking forward to seeing the new build when we return next year.
