"food and beverages are very poor"

(Australia)

Unverified | My wife and I have now spent four visits in the Guangzhou Airport lounge over 4 years. Nothing has really changed in that time unlike the in flight service that has improved in leaps and bounds. In flight service is now excellent and it is time to apply themselves to this lounge which is darkly lit, although clean - while food and beverages are very poor in terms of quality and quantity. WiFi is very low quality in terms of consistent coverage, it frequently drops out, and is very slow. China Southern has come a very long way since our first experience 4 years ago but not in the lounge.

"much below our expectations"

(Russian Federation)

Verified Review | The overall impression is that this Guangzhou lounge is much below our expectations. It is out-of date, food selection is very limited, there is only one red wine. Staff is not friendly - they first sent us to another area for elite passenger without food/ drinks instead of business/first area. Two weeks before on our way to Sydney my time slot for shower was given to someone else and I had to wait for another hour.

"One of the worst lounges"

(Germany)

Verified Review | One of the worst lounges that I have seen. It was overcrowded to the point that it was very difficult to find a seat. The food was rather underwhelming, and the internet connection was very slow. Furthermore, the lounge was very noisy because they announced every flight in English and Chinese.

"very spacious and comfortable "

(Australia)

Verified Review | The lounge is very spacious and comfortable with two floors. The food is plenty with variety and special southern China flavor. The only inconvenience is there is no lift to the second floor, so I had to carry my luggage to the second floor. There is a book shelf with many books and magazines.

"a good variety of meals"

(Australia)

Verified Review | The lounge had good wifi connection. The seating was well arranged with an area for sitting to eat a meal as well as comfortable lounge chairs to relax. Flight screens with up to date departure information were visible from most parts of the lounge. There was a good variety of meals, snacks and finger food available. There was a good supply of beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee/tea and other beverages. Staff would announce when flights were boarding and reminding customers to head to their appropriate gate. The lounge was kept in a clean manner both in the lounge as well as the restrooms.

"did not find any fresh fruit"

(Australia)

Verified Review | In general this China Southern Airlines lounge is okay. No private wifi, have to share wifi with the public. Food and drinks are reasonable, not exceptional, just a bit better than ok. However, I did not find any fresh fruit. No monitor showing boarding time, very inconvenient. Open area no private air con, sometimes the temp is not right, too hot or too cold

"not much variety of wine and alcohol"

(Australia)

Verified Review | The lounge is on 2 levels with main eating downstairs and more limited offerings upstairs. The food for evening meal was Chinese style but westerners may find something of their liking. There is not much variety of wine and alcohol but juice, soft drink and tea/coffee. Showers are available but you need to book at lounge reception. The lounge is reasonably comfortable and there is a free massage chair. There was one newspaper printed in English.

"a good selection of food"

(Australia)

This excellent lounge is easy to find and well located near the international departures gates. It has a good selection of food, both Chinese and Continental, and a cook ready to prepare your noodle soup to order. Well supplied with a selection of drinks. Being in China, it has a number of high quality Asian teas provided together with cute little tea cups. It is on two levels which both have food and drinks bar. The upper level also has showers and bedrooms with beds so that you can have some sleep during a long wait. Seating is comfortable and there are even massage chairs on upper level. The lounge is on the level of departure gates, no need to struggle up the stairs to it. A short walk will take you to your departure gates.

"needs much improvement"

(Australia)

China Southern business class and first class lounge are combined, located near Gate 1-5. I was flying business so I was guided to the left where the lounge is located. The right hand side is for general Pearl Club access with minimum facilities. The first thing you notice is it is so hot in there. the lounge is semi-open so the temperature relies on the overall temperature of the airport. It's hot! The lounge has two levels. First level is for dining. There are limited buffet dishes for selection. The food was quite average. Lacking fresh fruit and salad. The only highlight for food is the noodle bar. For me, it is great to have some hot noodle soup during a connection. Upstairs, there are some comfortable chairs you could lie down, having a nap, drinks. There are showers, there is always a queue and the facilities in the shower room is very average. The bathroom is really small. Overall, this lounge is good compared with lounges in other major Chinese cities. It needs much improvement to match elite airlines lounges.

"a disappointing lounge"

(China)

A disappointing lounge, particularly considering that it was opened less than two years ago. Compared to other lounges in China, positive points include a large number of seats available, a dedicated wireless network (slow) connection, a very small playground for children and a decent cleanness overall. However the design is cold and impersonal, the quality and quantity of food available is awful (plain rice and steamed vegetables, the choice of drinks is extremely limited (water, Coke/Fanta cans and beers, plus a Nescafe' machine), no newspapers and magazines available and no priority access to boarding.
