"over an hour for baggage"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | I am an expatriate that travels often to Toronto. I am a seasoned traveller for the last 40 years. I am appalled at the customer service and baggage reclaim on arrival. Waiting for over an hour for baggage reclaim on a flight that was delayed by 4 hours as well! I have never seen such chaos at an airport before. The Canadian Government should be ashamed at what has happened to YYZ. This is not acceptable in todays world of travel. Customers expect service and good communication when travelling. I had a colleague arrive few days later and they waited 2.5 hours for their bags to arrive on carousel. The only reason given was broken equipment!

"the dirtiest airport"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Outside of Terminal at Toronto Pearson is one of the dirtiest airport I have seen. Not sure what is wrong but it looks disgusting. Papers, buds, cans, you name it.

"a national disgrace"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Almost every aspect of this airport in a national disgrace. We had countless concerns: The airport was not clean Unfinished construction everywhere, but there was no work underway. It just seemed to be left as temporary walls, etc Signage is terrible. We had great difficulty navigating the maze from terminal 3 to terminal 1 to make a connection. There was no sign to drop checked baggage for connecting Air Canada flight after clearing customs in terminal 3 (there was only a small sign for WestJet connections, but this sign was obstructed). The signage to the train to terminal 1 was also poor (sign reads train to downtown). Signage is very important considering it is such a maze. The security at terminal 1 Gate D was understaffed and very slow. Again directions were poorly signed. Many of the moving sidewalks were inoperative. Not good for senior citizens who have been travelling for 36 hours. The airport is poorly organized, especially compared to the efficient airports in SE Asia where we can from. There should be artwork, signs, exhibits to showcase Canada to foreigners. Instead the airport makes Canada look like a 3rd world nation. There is poor food selection at Gate D. The Thai Express was closed, blocked off by yet another “temporary” wall. I could go on, but this airport needs a serious review and analysis, with a view to making significant improvements to both terminals.

"Horrible management"

(Spain)

Not Verified | Over an hour for US connections, with everyone in the line missing their flights. Staff telling everyone to better not get mad or they won't be traveling and to blame their airline. Horrible management and organization.

"not user friendly"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Pearson Airport, Terminal 1: Although it looks nice, it was an absolute disaster: Not enough staff (automation clearly more cost effective, however not user friendly). Soon there may not be anyone to ask anything, food and drinks prohibitively expensive (draft beer $15 a glass? - more expensive than Heathrow),junk food completely tasteless. Security - 10+ lines installed, but only 2 open for passengers with 4 people working. This is the worst experience at any of the major airports!

"Complete chaos"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Complete chaos. No organization, multiple lines feeding same machines and overlapping, completely disorganized, no direction from workers. Management of this airport need to be fired, learn from other airports.

"absolute chaos"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Arriving at YYZ is like entering the third world. I deplaned at Pearson T3 March 10 at 21:25 and didn’t collect my bags until an hour and a half later at 22:50. During that time, I was entertained by several carousel stoppages caused by jammed bags. T3 passenger pickup was absolute chaos, with cars double parked and in some cases triple parked, nobody directing or controlling traffic, and nobody clearing abandoned baggage carts blocking pedestrian walkways. Departing from T1 is generally unpleasant. The international departures area has about half the space required to accommodate waiting passengers on evening flights, thanks to the amount of retail space that’s been shoe-horned into the area. T1 baggage reclaim is generally as slow as my latest experience at T3. In fact, I have never, ever experienced such slow baggage reclaim anywhere in the world.

"among the worst in the world"

(Canada)

Not Verified | I have not once gone through this airport and not had a delay. Absolutely ridiculous, a 4.5hr delay. Every single time. This airport is among the worst in the world - I’ve been to 23 different countries and countless airports. Your transportational logistics management is a joke. Figure it out, shameful work.

"the worst airport"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | I am a frequent flyer and travel many times throughout the course of a year. I honestly cannot remember the last time I’ve had to connect flights in Toronto Pearson airport without having delays and issues. Today continues this streak as I am delayed 4 hours once again. I don’t know what kind of idiots run this airport but they need to get a grip on it. This is the worst airport, time and time again, I’ve ever dealt with.
