KLIA Kuala Lumpur Airport

❎ Not Verified | Worst airport ever. Arrived via domestic terminal and were transisting to international flight and followed signs to pick up our bags. Got our bags, then followed signs to international departure. Passed thru an immigration counter (who saw our family with 5 huge suitcases) then got told we were meant to go to a different level first to drop the bags. We got told to go there and find a immigration officer and explain and they will let us through to drop bags. Go to said level and they wouldn't let us thru with the bags, told to go back to lower level, pass thru immigration and drop bags. Go back there and they won't allow us through either. Asked 3 staff for help and no one wanted to. Eventually, we got a young man to listen to us and he got us through albeit with a lot of hassle and he got us to our flight with 10 mins to spare. I would never fly through KL again. I would give it 0/10 if i could.

✅ Trip Verified | It should be marketed as a smoking haven! The passageway between the Flying Emporium and the Baggage Carousel reeks of stale cigarette smell. This country has a law against indoor smoking but no one seems to bother about the furtive smoking in the rooms lining the passageway. Otherwise, how could the smell seep out? It gives such a bad impression of the country. I have complained about it but I suppose such a matter would fall on deaf ears because the people who run this airport do not understand professionalism!

✅ Trip Verified | Never use this airport, for what you save it really isn’t worth the stress! We arrived two and half hours prior to our flight departure only to battle our way through the the most disorganised chaos. What a terrible airport, immigration is a joke and the staff are the most rude and unhelpful people I have ever met. We missed our flight and no one wanted to help us.

Not Verified | Check in was very slow. The staff at the entrance to immigration were rude. Over 30 mins in queue at immigration. No one from Air Asia to inform us that a final call had been put out for our flight. Arrived at gate only to be rudely informed it was closed, with 10 passengers stood there. Then asked for an escort to get us back to the service desk only to be told that we would have to find our own way back. Asked a number of staff which way to go and we were sent in 3 different directions. This is the worst airport for lack of communication by the airline and immigration that I have ever been to.

Not Verified | We waited more than one hour in departure immigration queue at KLIA2! Queue cutting and fighting along the way. Authorities stood and watched the commotion like it happened everyday. Totally unacceptable! I know this terminal is for low-cost airlines but this is way sub-par! This is the longest queue we have ever been through for outward immigration. Very very poor management. Talked to one staff who said they couldn't do anything. If they gave people in a rush special treatment it would be unfair to others. Solution is letting them fight! Also he said this happened at all international airports! Great attitude! Once you were through there's nothing to eat and the gate was not open til one hour before departure. Seating outside the gate is very limited. Overall very poor. Don't come if you don't have time to waste!

✅ Trip Verified | KLIA is not vegetarian-friendly. Some shops did provide vegetarian food but they are not suitable for oriental vegetarian. It is good if more options are provided.

❎ Not Verified | We are constantly asked to be at the air gate on time but it is now 830am and the security checking station is empty when the flight is 905am!! This is not the first time. Poor logistical control over security means delayed flights.

✅ Trip Verified | Obviously living in Singapore that sets a high standard for service expectations and yes KL failed. It took 30 mins getting thru immigrations and then the luggage directions were really poorly communicated. No help to find except people who referred the problem to others.

❎ Not Verified | As a transit airport I was very impressed with KLIA, international flights arrive at the satellite hub which is X shaped, this means that it is not possible to to go in the wrong direction for very long. There are many shops and places to eat and drink. Following a walk around the little jungle boardwalk in the centre of the building, we had a drink at a very nice little bar which surprisingly was not too expensive. There are information points near the centre and the Aerotrain is easy to find where regular trains whisk you off to the contact pier for domestic departures and to the main building if needed. We only needed the contact pier as this was where our connecting flight was due to depart. Line of site signage is good and despite it being 15 years since my last visit it was easy to find where we needed to be. Seating is adequate, there are numerous toilets and I found everything to be spotlessly clean.

❎ Not Verified | The e-check-in kiosk at the airport does not have good screen interactions. The buttons are not calibrated correctly and make the check-in very time-consuming. I tried on 2 machines to get desired seat selection but I finally gave up and the screen did not pick up my selection. Please improve this. The wifi connection does not work.
