Dedicated BA Lounge for Club Europe (Business Class), Gold and Silver Card (OW Sapphire and Emerald)
holders at the right end of the main gallery in Departures. Clean, fresh and well maintained. Wine,
beer and liqour served from morning and during the day. The lounge is quite similar to the
Terraces/Gate 1 lounge over at LHR T4, except that it is smaller and the hot food buffet is missing.
Plenty of pastries, nibbles and other goodies to be found however.

I bought access to this lounge as a treat, as I knew I would have a long drive from the coast to
Bordeaux Airport. Was I disappointed. The lounge is small, and very badly
stocked, and there was no-one around to replenish supplies. I think the only thing in its favour is that it was air-
conditioned, and much more comfortable than the waiting area outside.

There are 2 Galleries in T5A, North and South, so you are able to chose the lounge closest to your
gate. The first thing that stuck me was the size. There are so many different areas within the
lounge you are spoilt for choice. You have a quiet area, a television area, an eating area, a
working area and a large room that feels more like a conservatory which overlooks the runway and a
separate bar. The quality of food has certainly improved compared with T4. My flight was at
12:40pm, but bacon baguettes were available, along with plenty of other food. You also have the
usual coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks. The main thing I noticed was that, even though there are a
lot of BA flights leaving from T5 now, there was still plenty of space to sit. There is also a
lounge in T5B, so passengers are spread out evenly. It will be interesting to see what happens when
all BA flights leave from T5. On a previous flight I had a chance to use the showers. These are
great and you are offered Toothpaste, shaving kit etc. These are certainly great lounges, which are
clean and have very helpful staff, however I would like to see if this standard is maintained a year
or so from now. For now, 5 stars for everything.

Very opulent affair and huge. Champagne bar lined with gold banquettes very swish, but on a more
practical note, showers very small and basic - water runs over the floor (sign on the wall says it
is designed that way) so nothing can be put on the floor and really nowhere provided to put bags
(this is an airport after all) even the shelf above the sink isnt wide enough for a decent
wash bag. Clearly not the work of a traveller - by the time I finished, I had my briefcase in the sink
and the towels wedged behind the toilet.

We had 6 hours to spend changing BA flights en route Buenos Aires to UK. The Sao Paulo BA Executive
lounge is a disgrace : dowdy, shabby, worn and dirty chairs, and carpet, minimal magazines and
newspapers (nothing more recent than 2 days' old), all topped off with the TV tuned to a snowstorm
and no internet connection. The staff said that they "could do nothing" with a shrug of the
shoulders. On our visit there was a grubby handwritten notice saying that there was no hot water- thus no
coffee or tea. As we were the only occupants for some time, we eventually persuaded the staff to get
some hot water from the nearby TAM lounge, but they did this with bad grace, and made it clear that
for one time only. There was no interest at all in, perhaps, getting some makeshift remedy before
the lounge filled (actually, overfilled - it is far too small for a 747 load) nearer departure
time: complete inertia. As an introduction to the airline for BA premium passengers originating at Sao Paulo this lounge is
an insult to them, to the BA brand and to the excellent aircrew who try so hard to counter dreadful
ground facilities such as this.

Here, you have two, maybe three, flights leaving for London within a short space of time. If
passengers for the later flights check-in early there is serious congestion.
More seriously, the lounge is looking worn out. Many of the chairs and sofas have stained cushions
with very worn covers - the foam stuffing of one chair I sat in was poking through the arm cover.
It needs a makeover.

British Airways used to have their own separate Terraces lounge in Oslo. Now they
have moved the lounge and share this with Continental, Brussels, KLM, Air France and many others.
This means the lounge is very busy with hardly any free seats. In addition, the lounge is located
in the International departure area, which means you cannot go back outside should you wish to have
a smoke. On the upside, catering is okay. They have snacks, pasta salad, potato salad, biscuits
and all manner of treats and for beverages they have draught beers as well as tea, coffee (which was
actually pretty good) and juices. I found the toilets were rather small, considering how busy the
lounge was and there was sometimes a wait. Finally, I noticed that dirty plates and cups weren't
being collected. There were plenty of staff, but they appeared to be hiding in a room near the
beverages and only appeared to look at the level of the snacks. The view from the lounge was okay,
half looking over the runway and the seats were certainly comfortable, but the lounge certainly
isn't up to BA Terraces standards.

The snacks in this lounge were quite disappointing with a few biscuits and vegetables, up until the
moment I was leaving, then Sandwiches were being served. I couldn't quite work this out why they
didn't serve these earlier, but I managed to take a few sandwiches with me when I left. Aside from
this, the lounge was reasonably quiet and the chairs were very comfortable, so comfortable in fact,
I fell asleep for an hour. Announcements were very clear and important information such as flight
delays was given with plenty of notice and an explanation given. I did notice the bin near my seat
was full and unemptied, but the tables were cleared regularly. Only real complaint is the screens
that divide the lounge up into smaller sections don't really insulate against sound, so I was able
to hear someone on their cell phone in the next section. Would still use the lounge again however,
if only for the comfortable seating.
