BNE-BKK Return. Travelled with our 18 month old who is now too big for the bassinet. Luckily on both flights the cabin was not full and we were able to make use of an extra seat. BNE-BKK service was great including the use of the Air NZ lounge in BNE. I agree that seats are a little narrow, though I had no problem sleeping. The flight back I felt the service was a little lacking. The flight leaves at 8am and after breakfast the staff disappeared for about 4-5 hours to let everyone sleep, which was strange for a day flight. If you needed a drink you needed to seek out the staff. My wife and I manage 3 drinks each during this time and the centre console was piled high with glasses and empty soft drink cans as no one wandered through to clean up. I may be being picky though this is not what you expect in business class.

LHR-BKK, very quiet flight (got 3 seats to myself in economy). The 747 is not the newest but I it was clean. Seats are fairly comfortable with ample legroom. The cabin crew were extremely friendly and attentive throughout the flight. Shortly after take off there were 2 drinks services followed by the meal which was very good. Wine served along with a second wine service then tea/coffee. The crew came through the cabin approx every 30 mins with a tray of juice and water. The washrooms were kept clean and tidy - negative is the lack of personal tv's.

BKK-HKT-BKK in Business Class and liked the Bangkok Airport Royal Silk Lounge where a wide variety of food, drink and free internet access were available. The plane was an older version of the B747-400 but I found seats spacious and comfortable. The food service was excellent during the short flight. Attendants were very professional and smart. The great thing about the flight was the cost! Just over £100 return for business class bought in UK on the Thai Airways website.

NRT-BKK-NRT in business on B777 and B747-400. Both had the same new seats installed, and they were fairly nice - not lie flat, and they seemed narrow. Entertainment better than the Japanese carriers on this route. Food is my biggest complaint about Thai. Their idea of gourmet catering is off. Just the quality of the food is strange and the presentation is not much better than economy. Of course there is enough of it, and they do provide cheese and port after the lunch service, something Japanese carriers don't do. Flight crew pleasant and smiling. Cabins kept clean at all times. I liked the dedicated check-in at Bangkok, as well as the dedicated immigration counter just after. The lounge is huge and had enough decent snacks (hot and cold) before the flight to nourish me after an early wake up and no breakfast at the hotel.

MAD-BKK-SIN Y class B747-400. Although the flight was full, the crew maintained friendliness and efficiency throughout the flight. The seat was comfortable with more legroom than most airlines. Staff went through the cabin regularly with juice and water. Food was good, on-board entertainment appropriate.

SIN-BKK-MAD Business Class B747-400. Cabin was clean, food very good, service friendly and prompt. My only complaint is that the seat was rather worn.

CPH-BKK-MEL-BKK-LHR. Flight to Bangkok was ok but I was shocked any carrier would use such old aircraft on a long haul flight - an ancient 747. No seat back entertainment and the staff was okay, but they didn't come around with water very often. Bangkok to Melbourne was much better - only a third full so I had a whole row to myself on a nice, new 777 with seat back entertainment. Melbourne to Bangkok was 5 hours delayed to due a mechanical problem. This meant that I missed my original booked connection to CPH. Thai in Bangkok booked me on a flight to Heathrow rather than accept the 24 hour layover to take the same flights the next day. The flight to LHR also on an outdated 747. The main cabin screen was flickering and it was hard to watch the movies. The soundtrack skipped and cut out a lot. Eventually I gave up on watching it. All in all, I was not impressed with Thai's flights to and from Europe and would not choose them again for either business or pleasure.

Frankfurt-Bangkok return in economy. I was happy with the price and legroom (34 inches), but like many have mentioned before, Thai's outdated 747's are a shame to the carrier! I guess they'll keep flying them for a few years, but until then we'll have to deal with those outdated 747's and that will make me think twice before buying a ticket with Thai again. This time I had a night flight and surprisingly slept very well, but when your flight is during daytime you'll find the Inflight entertainment to be a joke! Thai was a good airline and they more or less still are, but they will need to upgrade their 747's very soon or they will lose more passengers! Service, food, legroom all very well, but inflight entertainment close to non-existing.

ZRH-BKK, BKK-CPH, the first flight was an A340-600. The flight was confortable in economy because I choose the fist central seats. Excellent crew and service. BKK to CPH onboard a B747-400 and the comfort was not the same of the A340-600. No PTV screens even if the seats were comfortable as in the A340. The crew has been very friendly in this flight and the service very good.

LHR-BKK, BKK-LHR. The 747-400 was very old and worn and ready to retire any day now. This did not bode well with me given that I'm a nervous flier. On the other hand the aircraft was very clean upon boarding and pillow / blanket given out were of a good quality. The cabin-crew were friendly and on the ball, leg room was as good as it comes for economy class, food was very good compared to other airlines and I was pleasantly surprised with how generous the drinks service was. The only drawback was inflight entertainment. There were no individual screens (standard on most modern long-haul aircraft) and the films shown on the large screens at the front were of a poor quality. Overall I was more than satisfied with my Thai Air experience and I feel it certainly represented good value for money. However I will think twice about booking with Thai Airways in the future if they continue to use such outdated aircraft.

BNE-BKK-LHR, LHR-BKK-SYD-BNE. The fact it was a cheap fare made this bearable. The B747-400 used for LHR flights was downright terrible. Creaky, filthy, uncomfortable, spartan. The Boeing 777-300 on the other legs was great. Food good, crew good, check in acceptable. Paid to use the lounge in BKK, and it was very nice.

Bangkok-Dubai. Downgraded to Economy class for exchange of extra miles. Took the offer. Brand new A330-300, toilets clean and cabin spacious and beautiful. Seats are firm and legroom tighter than Singapore airlines but do the job. Pillows and blankets given out on ground and were of good quality. Service excellent and food very tasty. Cabin crew were nice and professional. They offered round of drinks every 30 minutes sharp, never experienced that on any other airline. Entertainment system was good enough to enjoy for 6 hours, however, it was only switched on 45 minutes after take-off. Lunge was great and comfortable with anything you would expect to have.

SIN-BKK-SIN. Check in and boarding efficient and organized. The food was excellent - compared to flights with Thai Airways for the same route a year ago, it can be seen that they have removed some in flight services due to cost cutting. There is no more hot towel provided after take off in economy class. Drinks only served during meal time, not as frequent as before. AVOD is totally non-existent. Thai Airways don't cut on the quality of meal.

Singapore - Bangkok C class. Last minute change to an old worn 747-400. I am flying Thai for 20 years now, and this was exactly the same C class seat Thai used 20 years ago. Uncomfortable and worn-out. Food the usual Economy class food served on china. Tired looking and rather disinterested cabin crew. Overall a disappointing experience.
