SYD-BKK-HKT-BKK-SYD on 777-200ER. First time on this aircraft (and with Thai). Seats were not
overly comfortable for 8.5 hour trip but they seem to have slightly more legroom, and when you
recline the whole seat moves back, instead of just the back section. Section layout is 3x3x3.
Thai Airways food was excellent - and what airline offers its Economy passengers Congac at the
end of dinner! I did get the feeling that some of the attendants were "going through the
motions" and in particularly the male attendants and you felt like you were "begging" for
water or juice during the flight when they were at the back having a chat. AVOD was good with
a a good range of movies along with the games, TV Comedies, Audio channels and documentaries
it was a good mixture. All in all a very good experience with Thai Air and priced
competitively at $925 return.

BKK-SYD First Class. Had business class fare and 2nd fare on half usual points + taxes - great
deal. Used upgrade certificate to get to 1st. Requested upgrade for partner using points, cash
or whatever. Not granted. Porter dealt with luggage, gulf cart to 1st class lounge. Given own
room in lounge. Food very good, but room a little noisy as not cut off from main concourse.
Escorted to boarding gate, and car to plane. Requested that my partner join me in 1st - would
be okay to visit, but no upgrade - again disappointed, but not unreasonable. I regret that
cabin staff no longer have this kind of discretion. Had cabin all to myself. Service and food
impeccable and they still serve caviar! Cabin immaculate, and seat/bed comfortable - got about
4.5 hours sleep in an 8.5 hr flight.

BKK to MAA return. BKK check in very swift, while at Chennai airport, this operation is
standard (operated by Indian airlines staff). Flights departed and landed on time.
Both flights with old A300. Everything old onboard, like 15 years ago, but I have appreciated
more legroom in economy, and also clean cabin, and nice and well trained cabin crew. Food was
good, including bread, meal service is efficient, and drinks served together with meal.
All in all, despite there is no competition on this sector, as all flights operated by TG,
this was a pleasant experience for a 3 hours flight

My wife and I had to go urgently to UK and recollected a Royal Orchid Plus offer of two
tickets for single redemption of award points. Phoned and surprisingly found seats available.
Superb agent suggested how we could scrape together enough points for economy class return SYD
to BKK and business class BKK to LHR; and knowing that we were going to a funeral kindly
arranged good seats on the economy legs. Thank you Thai. All flights were on time with
charming attendants, appetizing food and good wine. Two small quibbles about 744 business
class; we were disappointed that Thai no longer lets us select cheese and fruit from an
elegant trolley – instead just serves a generous assortment on a plate. Also “shell” seats
seem uncomfortably hard; perhaps cushions cannot be well padded when they must slide over each
other to achieve near flat configuration.

LHR-BKK-SYD return Business Class. LHR-BKK sector on 747 both ways which was OK and then 777
BKK to SYD return. Transit at BKK was fine, with chance to have shower. Although facilities
in lounge are not as comprehensive as some airlines, they are alright for a relatively short
stopover. Plenty of showers available. Cabin Service on both legs was good and food was of a
very acceptable quality. IFE is not great but the fare was around £600 cheaper than Qantas/BA, it was good value.

The Economy Cabin is amongst the best I have flown with good legroom even for a person 1.96m
tall. The only trouble I had was on one leg, a selfish passenger ahead insisted upon the seat
being fully reclined. This impacted directly onto my knees and the person was very upset to
be asked to decrease the amount of recline by a very small amount. Cabin Crew were very
efficient, courteous and genuine smiles.

Just completed another round trip CNX-BKK. Decided to travel at very short notice (24 hours),
and was amazed to be offered the promotion fare. Both flights were packed solid (777 and 747
respectively). Very cosy lounge at CNX and the refurbishment is complete. The food at CNX
lounge is much better than BKK with a good selection of pastries, sandwiches and desserts.
Usual snack box meal onboard but the coffee is usually good and they offer real milk even in Y
class. lounge in BKK often very crowded but otherwise ok. At this promotion fare there is no
point in shopping around as it compares favourably even with the low cost carriers.
Had to be bussed to the plane at BKK which ought to be a thing of the past. I guess the 747
had come in from overseas and so it wasnt moved to the domestic terminal.

LHR to BKK return with three young children. The aircraft was packed and staff coped very well
- friendly and generous with handing out drinks, snacks and sandwiches between meals. The
legroom was excellent for economy class. The aircraft was a 747 - personal TVs would have been
a bonus as there were three films on the main screen and only one of them on the return
journey was of any interest to us and it can be difficult keeping three children occupied
otherwise. No reason we would not use Thai again although continued absence of AVOD might
tempt us to use EVA.

LHR-BKK-LHR Economy. Check in straightforward. Have to agree with other contributors, the old
747s need updating. A bit scruffy, torn seatbacks, stained carpet, no personal TVs, but good
legroom, food and pleasant FAs. However had to ask for wine 3 times and when it did arrive
dinner was over. Return journey half full which was just as well as 3 aft toilets failed. Got
a good sleep on 3 seats, more than I can say about the Business Class seats, the angled ones
that you can't get comfortable on. No issue with the price. It was a bargain.

SYD-BKK Return, Business Class. At check in, Business Class took longer to be served than
economy. New Air NZ lounge is great, except food choice is disappointing. New shell seats in
2x3x2 config. Outbound flight is SYD-BNE-BKK. Only a light snack (no alcohol) served SYD-BNE.
Would have preferred a full meal on this leg, leaving BNE-BKK for sleep. Outbound, best
inflight breakfast omelette served. Return flight departed 19:15 yet meal service was slow
taking 2.5 hours. The meal was nice, but a quicker service leaving more time for sleep would
have been appreciated. Airlines should consider timezone at destination when planning service.
Service also less organised on this leg. Both flights on time, baggage processed quickly. The
disappointment was the poor quality food available at BKK Thai Airways lounges and no wine
being available. The plus is the BKK Thai Airways Spa lounge (near gate D1 opposite a large
Royal Silk Lounge. It takes a bit of finding, but the massage is worth it.

LHR-BKK night flight Economy class. Service by crew was great. No amenity kits. 2 meals served
were best compared to other airlines food. No pillow and blanket at seat while boarding. Ask
from crew they gave me only pillow and said blankets were running out. IFE was bad, only large
screen at the front of the cabin.

Business Class NRT-BKK. Used the ANA lounge at NRT, excellent lounge with great food and
amenities. Flight on time, Royal Silk priority boarding was nice and orderly. Onboard the
service was top notch. Offered champagne before departure, appetizers and full course dinner.
I found the 160 degree seats mostly comfortable but hard to find a good sleeping position. IFE
selection was good.
