London to Koh Samui via Bangkok return. LHR-BKK was almost empty (old 747) with no more than
100 people in the economy cabin, selected seats at the back of the plane (2 together) thinking
that it was going to be a full flight - in the end we have a whole row each. Return flight
from Bangkok also half full with again chance to spread out of the pre booked seats. Seat
reasonably comfortable with good legroom. Food reasonable selection and choice on both legs, a
better western selection out from London with a very Thai selection on the return leg - OK but
fish curry is probably not the best on a confined plane. Attentive staff but with such empty
planes on both international sections the ratio of crew to passengers was high. Inflight
entertainment on these B747's not up to current airlines and Thai really do need to sort this
out as it is the thing that lets their service to and from London down. The selection of films
was good but with only 1 TV screen per cabin section is was almost impossible to see and the
quality of the image is very poor. Transfer options at BKK are good with opportunity to shop
and get some food. Flight to Koh Samui uneventful and smooth with no issues. Overall generally
very good but Thai really do need to sort their inflight entertainment out as a priority
especially on the 12 hour flights from their European destinations!

LHR-BKK-SIN. Thai was not part of my original booking for my flight home to Singapore but only
because BA happened to cancel my direct flight back to Singapore (due to technical problems)
and left 390 angry passengers stranded at Heathrow in the wee hours of the morning. Some
(including myself) were rebooked on different carriers. Thai LHR-BKK leg was an old 747-400
with no PTVs. What made up for that was a good crew who were responsive, good food, plenty of
drinks to go around and a very colourful cabin scheme with ok seats. Transfer at BKK was
quick and we had an A345 on the outward leg from BKK to SIN (on the first flight out in the
morning), with PTVs, an even more spacious cabin complete with a standard breakfast service
and a few rounds of freeflow drinks. I'd recommend Thai for the legroom and service, but of
course if they have PTVs on every aircraft (and retiring the 747s) no doubt would they be in
the league of the better airlines such as SIA.

It was my first flight with Thai. Everything about it was excellent - service the best I have
experienced. B777 was clean and tidy. Food and wine good as well. I was very happily
surprised by this airline and quality.

FRA-BKK-FRA. Check-in was fast and friendly. Flight from FRA an old Boeing 747-400 aircraft,
with no personal screens on a 10 hour trip. Old seats and the Films shown where the same. Meal
was good, but service poor. Flight from BKK was a surprise because of changing to a newer
Airbus A340-600. Very nice flight. Friendly staff and good meals. Very good IFE with a large
selection of movies. Overall, recommended for a good value flight. But please don't use the
old 747-400!

CDG-BKK-PNH. Paris to Bangkok in a B747 with no AVOD. Largest leg room I've experienced.
Friendly and attentive cabin crew, food was fair. Between Bangkok and Phnom Penh a very short
flight of 45 minutes made in B737, just a small lunch box. A very good airlines. Need AVOD
system in economy class to deserve five stars.

LHR-BKK-LHR. Very dated 747 on both legs, no personal IFE. Compared to other airlines I would
rate this flight as average certainly nothing exceptional. Condition of some seats seemed
pretty poor and covers needing replacing. Food was fine but then again excellent food can be
had with many airlines on this route. Would probably not use Thai again but some of the middle
east airlines, even though it involves a change of plane.

SIN-BKK-VTE return. Overall good service, the flights were on time and inflight service was
good. Nice breakfast with tasty omelette to Bangkok from Singapore and the lunchbox to
Vientiane consisted of chicken, a piece of cake and juice. Alcohol was also served, although
the drink service between Singapore and Bangkok return was a bit odd. You will end up eating
most of your food before the drink cart finally arrives at your seat.

LHR-BKK-LHR. Was disappointed with the dated aircraft, shabby interior and no personal Tv
screens and this was a 12 hr flight! IFE was limited with no choice as the only screen was
in the centre bank of seats. Although this was a night flight the IFE was completely shut off
after the meal service. In retrospect it did make us sleep so felt more energised at
destination but it would have been nice to have the choice. The cabin crew were very efficient
and friendly. The meals were tasty for airplane food.

AKL-BKK-AKL. Outward flight only 50% full so able to move to empty rows, IFE very good, food
acceptable but our choice was all gone. The funniest thing was the service of the after dinner
brandy - in both flights I thought that the server was on roller skates as she went past so
quickly without actually offering the brandy, I had to use the call button to get any. Return
flight was busier service was okay, not as good as Thai used to be.

SYD-BKK-CDG return in Business Class, all on time. We have flown Thai several times before,
but felt that the standards were not as high on these flights as previously. We found the
food to be ordinary and unattractive. Wines good. Semi flat beds uncomfortable. Aircraft
and toilets clean. Service overly quick, with less of the attention and smiles of earlier
flights, with few offers of wine refills. It all seemed a rush from the FA's, with little
charm. BKK Airport is excellent, with wonderfully easy access to the Business lounge and
massage.

ZRH-BKK-ZRH on A340 in Y. Overall a satisfactory experience with acceptable level of service
and food given. However, the very low load-factors (ZRH-BKK below 40% and BKK-ZRH around 60%)
could have been used better by the cabin crew. They preferred to rush service through instead
of taking time and give extra attention. The level of service in general is falling amid the
pressure to save costs with TG. The service was given with almost no smiles, except for a
chief purser on the flight to ZRH. Having flown TG over the last couple of years a few times,
I believe the they are now losing more and more ground against SQ, MH and CX. It is time for
the management to reconsider their values and to ensure that customer service is coming back.

LHR-BKK-LHR. In both directions, check-in was fast and easy. Outbound from LHR, flight was on
newer Airbus A340-600. Very impressed with this flight. Good AVOD IFE with a large selection
of movies. Meals quite decent and staff very friendly. Return BKK-LHR a week later was not
nearly as good. Travelling on an old, out of date Boeing 747-400 aircraft, with no personal
screens on a 12 hour flight! Our selected meal options were unavailable, and the main cabin
screen for the movies they showed was small. Thai needs to update their economy cabin.
Overall, recommended for a good value flight.
