MEL-BKK J Class Boeing 777. Spacious cabin with good legroom and recently refurbished. Seat comfortable but not a complete lie-flat bed. Attentive crew but a bit mechanical and disinterested at times and service trolleys not well presented. No use of names or recognition of frequent flyers. Cabin became intolerably hot during the flight with passengers using the safety cards as fans (no individual air vents on their 777) - very obvious to an attentive crew but it took a request from me to the Purser to have it seen to. Food very good and a good drink selection. Inflight entertainment acceptable but a little limited on latest release movies. Good amenity kit and supply of newspapers and magazines. Safety procedures inconsistent.

LHR-BKK-LHR Could not get seats together on the outward journey although we requested seats together on booking. Food on outward journey ok but not very good on return journey. Cabin quite tatty, no tv in backs of seats and could not see the large screen - not that it was worth watching anyway. Flew on to Phuket, chaos on transfer at BKK, could do without it especially early in the morning. Much more comfortable BKK to Phuket, although only an hours journey. Snack was terrible on this route. Will really consider whether I fly them again until they get better aircraft on the LHR-BKK-KHR route.

LHR to BKK return economy. B747's embarrassingly old now, not even showing a movie on the big screens any more. Service very rushed, couldn't even get a small glass of wine with meal on return flight - although others did. Thai need to realise it takes more than a smile when you're getting on and off the plane and that smiles wearing thin. I once recommended this airline - not anymore. Will be flying again later in the year to BKK, sadly I'll let Thai go.

SYD-BKK-SYD. First time traveller in Business class with Thai and from the moment I boarded the trip was fantastic. Was a day flight and cabin crew were very attentive. I was impressed with the food. On return from BKK I used the Silk Lounge which was nice but I have used better lounges to be honest. Trip back to Sydney just as impressive as outward flight.

LHR-BKK-LHR Business Class. Outward flight 40 mins late departing with little explanation given. Service not bad, food and AVOD average (both legs). Seats not that comfortable. Good deal on the fare so no complaints but Thai can't compete with other airlines current business class product - other than on price. Cabin tatty on return flight although had new seating. BKK-KUL-BKK Business Class. Both legs on relatively new 777. Seats and cabin ambience generally better than on 747-400. Return flight delayed with no explanations other than "technical fault" - staff not informed at all leading to worries would miss connecting flight (didn't in the end). Food and service otherwise not bad although nothing particularly special.

Sydney to Bangkok. Modern Airbus, everything worked, seats pretty comfortable and for someone who is heavily built had plenty of room in an aisle seat. Food and service excellent, cabin crew helpful and pleasant - couldn't fault the experience.

LHR-BKK-SYD return in First. Apart from a shambolic check in at LHR, the experience was first class. Seat is showing its age, however the service makes up for this. Good to see caviar and Krug on menu. Lounge at BKK is sufficient, however, minor grump is only terrestrial Thai TV language programmes available. Return from SYD was uneventful and up to same standards. Thai canvassed all First Class passengers for A380 cabin design - hope they do not go with SIN and introduce horrible private suit'.

After a big build up, very disappointed. London to Bangkok to Phuket. There was no on demand tv and no screens in the back of seats. The entertainment system wasn't working for the entire flight out. On the way back, it was as if the video had been well used, sound and picture were out of sync. Food was mediocre and cabin crew not that helpful.

London-Bangkok-Perth, Sydney-Bangkok-London. London Bangkok return were in worn out 747s with seats which were very uncomfortable - hard and not long enough for my legs even when fully extended - and a slope so that I kept slipping down The legs between Bangkok and Australia were in more modern Airbus and slightly better seats.. After the initial smiling and greeting the staff were briskly efficient, food was only average and positively poor on one leg. I assume Thai Airways have a policy of saving money by restricting wine as despite repeated requests I could not get more than two small very glasses of wine - even this came half way through the second course. Transfer at Bangkok is a nightmare - as my wife had a recently broken arm I requested assistance when we checked in at LHR and we were promised a buggy at Bangkok - but I was very firmly told these are only for first class passengers and staff were unhelpful to the point of rudeness. I booked Thai because of a good fare.

Bangkok to Perth. Smart A330, good seats though very close to next passenger with no privacy screen. Everything fine though nothing remarkable.

DPS-BKK on A340 with AVOD, departure and arrival on time, service great! Food very nice, AVOD has lots choices on movies and TV shows. The only downside from Bali airport service, very slow and not polite.

MNL-BKK-DEL, B777-200 and B777-300ER. The standard of the airline has gone down since I last flew Thai 10 years ago. There was no AVOD system on the Manila-Bangkok leg and the Bangkok-New Delhi leg had a bad selection of movies. The food onboard was good but no menus were distributed before food was served. Thai had a good variety of wines and premium alcohol which they serve to their economy class passengers. Flight attendants active, quick and carried a smile. Overall a good airline but Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines rank slightly better.

BKK to SIN return on A330 and B777. Both flights delayed for about 20 min. Used buses instead of airbridge for the flight to Singapore. A330 looked worn, while the B772 looked new. While Thai is providing a decent enough service, I think that they are not that much better than Air Asia, who have much cheaper prices if you book early enough.
