HAJ-ZRH-HAJ Business Upgrade Fare. Exceptional service and a very good value for money.
Checked ski at HAJ and received them at the Resort. Back same matter. Check in at Wengen and
all Baggage where on the carousel in HAJ. Ski even made it with the plane which arrived in the
morning.

LCY-ZRH-HKG return in Business. Booked it because it was by far the cheapest. On time,
friendly service, generally good food. Could not get much sleep, though. Crew chatted loudly
during their work in the galley. To much precious sleeping time was wasted with meal services:
after a midnight departure dinner took almost two hours to complete, and breakfast was served
at 4.15 for a 6 a.m. arrival - why can't they just let their customers sleep for an hour
longer? Seat was very comfortable in recline mode but in flat position I could only sleep on
my back - not good for side/tummy sleepers like me.

BKK-ZRH return in economy class. The most uncomfortable economy class seats I have endured on
a long haul flight in many years. If the seat in front of you is in the 'full' recline
position, it is extremely difficult to view your screen properly (what design engineer forgot
to check that out when designing the seating!). The box for the AV system is extremely
intrusive for 50% of the seats in economy. Overall the staff on both flights were good but
they cannot make the seating more comfortable. Travel in these economy seats at your peril.

LCY-GVACDG-ZRH-NRT Business return. Among the cheapest / fastest routes available. Everything about
CDG is a mess, regardless of carrier. The euro shuttle segments are like taking a bus.
Neither good nor bad. The transfer in ZRH is pleasant despite the hike & shuttle between
terminals and gates (15+ minutes). The terminals are spacious and clean, with nice attention
to small details (eg. the walkway from gate to plane is glass, so you don't feel like you're
walking down a mine shaft). ZRH really is an excellent hub. A340 to/from Tokyo provides
attentive and polite service, not overbearing. Quiet cabin, fresh and satisfying menu.
Everything kept tidy incl toilets. Privacy is a big problem with this 2-2-2 seat
configuration and the angle of the seat in sleep mode is annoying. If you're taller than 6' it
is impossible to stretch out full. I will surely do this route again because it seems quite
reliable.

LCY-GVA-IST, IST-ZRH-LHR. Outstanding shorthaul service, flight attendants very attentive and
helpful as were check in staff. Food excellent, very generous in both economy and business
class both out and return. Delightful array of wines. Flights took off early and ran on time.
Baggage returned quickly. Only minor gripe was that Geneva airport was very poorly signposted,
which made the transfer from LCY to IST difficult, better to use Zurich with this airline.

ZRH-NRT First class. Check in at the first class terminal in Zurich was smooth, first class
lounge with some room of improvement. Limousine transfer to Dock E saves a lot of time due to
separate security check. Flight great, good service & food, little present at the end of the
flight. First class is worth a try - especially if you can upgrade from Business class.

BSL-BUD-BSL in C class. Outward journey : web check-in worked a treat. Lounge, food selection
consisted of bread rolls and sandwich spread but staff pleasant and plentiful. Flight delayed.
Onboard service good. Food disappointing, to say the least. My hopes of a vegetable curry as
my pre-ordered Asiatic Veg. Meal were short-lived as I got a small Mediterranean salad! Return
journey : web check in again worked perfectly and takes less than 2 minutes. Platinum lounge
at BUD barely adequate, no food, toilets down the corridor shared with the main (Malev)
lounge. No changes since my last visit 5 years ago – and it wasn't new then - but amazingly
doesn't look too worn or dated. Flight delayed again. Boarding a complete mess, no
announcements. People with small children and large 'cellos were beckoned towards the gate
first but this looked like a gesture to all and sundry, hence the free-for-all that ensued.
This didn't help our already delayed departure. After releasing myself from the scrum, onboard
service was again good. Cold drinks were warm, as they invariably are, due to there being no
refrigeration on SWISS' old BAe 146 aircraft. The purser apologised saying "and this is
Winter, just think what it's like in Summer!" Once again my pre-reserved Indian meal was a
small European salad. The only people eating hot meals were the crew. While I was away on my
trip, SWISS special "Business upgrade" supplement ex-BSL was increased by a whopping 61%
overnight. No warning nor reasons given. This, in addition to their recent price increases,
not to mention the existence of an £18 on-line booking fee (for what, exactly?), means that
this particular product, in my opinion, no longer represents value for money. I wouldn't
hesitate in recommending SWISS' Y class product/fares on this route but I cannot honestly
recommend C class, even at the lowest of the newly-increased fares, for such a small
difference in product and no difference at all in seats/legroom. It was even debatable at the
old prices, which seems to be borne out by my being the only C pax on both flights! I have the
feeling LX would rather not provide a business class on these flights, after all there is no
separate cabin nor even curtains and there is a constant stream of Y pax using the forward WC.
All this is a very long way from the "no-compromise quality and luxurious comfort" I was
promised in SWISS' advertisements. Telling the truth might earn more respect from their pax. I
will be rethinking my future upgrade plans! Slightly better experience than my previous LX
flight, due mainly to staff attitude/friendliness, both ground and cabin.

AMS to IST via ZRH return in business. Checked in online so straight to immigration which
takes ages at Schiphol. Lounge shared with many other airlines, located far away and very
average with complaining staff. Took 5 minutes just to enter as staff struggles with other
passengers buying a day-pass into the lounge. First flight on Edelweiss A320, with comfortable
seating and great crew. Seats of the type that can be converted into a business seat, but
despite flying many times with them, never seen it used this way, which is a pity. Nice salad
served. On time arrival in Zurich, which is very easy for transfer despite the necessity to go
through security again. Business lounge at Zurich is large with many different areas,
including a smoking room and an area with 10 computers for internet use. Buffet okay and they
now offer a food-dish (pasta style) that didn't look too appetizing but saw many people eat
it. Flight to Istanbul A320 empty and service wonderful. Staff sometimes serves you the whole
meal in one time and sometimes like this flight stretch it out by serving each dish
separately. Immigration at Istanbul is dreadful and took forever. Check in online for return
flight, but Swiss still make you come to check in at the airport, this is no issue when flying
business class, but economy passengers must hate it, since the line is huge. Lounge at
Istanbul is large with good choice of drinks and food and free internet. Return flight on
time, with fantastic service and great meal. Last sector Zurich to Amsterdam on comfortable
A320 with different style leather seats and showing a view forward on the monitors while
taking off and landing. Business class empty again and half of the plane reserved for C-Class
so economy passengers piled up behind the curtain and fighting for bin space, while front 9
rows empty, a bit embarrassing but comfortable enough. Service rushed with nice cold meal
served. Landing well ahead of schedule, but at the farthest point from the terminal so it took
forever to reach the terminal where there seemed no one to connect the passenger loading
bridge so eventually ended up delayed thirty minutes in arriving, which is very frustrating.

LCY-ZRH-TXL in economy class. Very good Swiss service with nothing to fault. Avro to ZRH 90%
full but roomy, crew lovely and providing great service. On both flights service consisted of
snack (pastery LCY-ZRH and sandwhich ZRH-TXL), hot and cold drinks and chocolates.
ZRH-TXL on A320 with new Recaro seats - feels very roomy, service not as good as on LCY leg
but still acceptable.

SIN-BKK-SIN in Economy Class. Swiss offered very competitive fares on the Bangkok-Singapore
legs of its SE Asia routing and fairly convenient timings. Check in excellent with Gold card
and Thai lounge comfortable. Seating a bit cramped for a 12 hour flight, but fine for the 2
hour hop. Service efficient and food good with nice Swiss wine offered. The staff covered the
cabin well, particularly on the jam-packed return flight (Sunday afternoon after Valentine's -
- many Singaporeans returning from Bangkok -- proving the effectiveness of good pricing).

ZRH-NCE-ZRH. The only thing they could change is the aircraft (RJ100), especially since the
flights are always almost fully booked and you are bussed in ZRH and NCE. The female flight
attendants to Nice were cheerful and always had a smile - the opposite from Nice to Zurich.
They serve a sandwich and drink and when you leave you get the famous Swiss Chocolate.

Manchester-Zurich and Basel-Manchester. Comfortable seats on both the A320 to Zurich and the
Avro back to Man - even though the flight was full we got great service. You get a sandwich
and a drink. Would fly with them again - especially at the prices they offer. It's just a
shame they only fly Man-Basel on Mon, Wed, Fri mid-afternoon - not great times.
