ZRH-JFK return. Since check-in at Zurich is automatic, it was a disaster, but staff were helpful, even if we ended up doing it manually. The first leg was operated by new A330-300 - a vast improvement, cabin spotless and a very good inflight entertainment, with a good selection of movies, tv shows and music. It's said that it has more legroom than the other aircraft, but I didn't notice any difference. Cabin crew weren't as good as they usually are, except for one, who at least was smiling while she was serving you. For being economy, lunch was good and the snack was big. At the end of the flight, a Christmas ginger cookie was served. The second leg was operated by an older A340-300 which has bigger PTV screens but the content was worse than the newer aircraft. This time the flight attendants were friendly and very talkative. Dinner and breakfast were good.

WAW-ZRH in C-Cabin operated by Contact Air on a Fokker 100. Plane is ageing seriously. I was only passenger in C cabin, so service adequate, although food quite disappointing on a sector of 90 mins. Overall an average experience. Transfer in ZRH (onwards to LUX) a very nice surprise. Despite short connection (under 30 mins) my bags made the flight with me. ZRH-LUX flight uneventful on Avro 100. Food - nothing to wirte home about. Seating 2x3 with all seats in C class (including middle seat) taken. Again, correct, but average experience.

Zurich-Warsaw flight operated by Contact Air F100. The plane was old, but inside was okay. I was the only pax in C class so the comfort level was very good, but if the cabin was full I think that wouldn't be so nice. And they dont block the middle seat in the F100 and no curtain between C and Y. Food excellent. I was using the lounge in Zurich and was not impressed, the food and the long-bar was a stinking smoking place.

HKG-ZRH-HAJ return in Economy. No major complaints but no major compliments. Everything feels fairly generic, nothing special or outstanding. A340 on the long-haul sectors and Avrostar 100 on European short-haul. Unattractive decor, inedible food and tight legroom (particularly when the person in front reclines) but you'd have that on other carriers. All flights on time, cabin staff friendly enough, and Zurich is a nice airport. In terms of quality of the experience, Swiss doesn't hold a candle to Cathay or SIA but they're alright for the price.

OSL-ZRH in Business class with Swiss. Check in very quick , Swiss use SAS Lounge in OSL which is good. Boarding a little messy. Service was nice, but the food was tasteless omelette with one sausage - not Swiss standard. Seat was Recaro, okay seating for short flight, middle seat was block.

DUB-ZRH-BUD, DUB-ZRH-BRU. Both flights were connecting flights, but schedules well harmonized, gate information given on overhead monitors before landing, also they came out cheaper than direct flights (purchased in the last minute). Sandwiches, refreshments were provided, seats were incredibly wide for intra-European economy with good pitch, they use A320s and A319s. I find the latter even more comfortable than the former. Two sectors were operated by Helvetic on Fokker 100s. Service equally good, and all sectors on time.

BSL-AMS C class. Probably my best SWISS experience in Europe and one of the best including long-haul. Lounge in BSL a delight, ground staff at gate polite and efficient, boarding hassle-free, on board safety demo thorough, timing of the meal and drinks was perfect. Purser was experienced, courteous and discrete. I was even addressed by name - something that happens rarely on LX these days. A real surprise and a true pleasure.

MAN-ZRH-GVA. I selected the "business saver fare" which is 1/3 cheaper than full business class and you get pretty much all the same amenities, fast track, lounge, business class seating, same miles. Dissapointing lounge in Manchester, very little to eat and all packeted cheap foods. Slight delay on the first leg, but delicious lamb meal and swiss white wine made up for it. Lounge in ZRH is fabulous, but was crowded, even at 8 in the evening mid-week. Final leg was very short but a delicious sandwich was served. Great experience!

ZRH-AGP. Only eight or so people in Business class but service was diabolical, virtually non- existent. Painfully slow meal service - took about 40 minutes to hand out 8 trays and 8 drinks! Service bell unanswered. Eventually went to the galley to get a 2nd drink, 75 minutes into the flight, and was told it would be brought to me. It arrived 25 minutes later, shortly before landing. It seems the old saying about paying peanuts may be correct in this instance.

Great service and cabin staff on a trip to Florence, Italy from Los Angeles. Economy seating a bit tight but great fares. Interconnecting flight from Zurich to Florence was comfortable, and fast. I was impressed by the food service and entertainment options available. Ground and cabin staff was helpful to the 3 couples with small babies sitting in front of us which made the trip easier for us as well as their parents. Staff very courteous and efficient. Overall was an enjoyable experience.

BHX-ZRH-JFK Return. Very smooth transfers and staff were friendly and obliging. New plane with larger screens in economy and good selection of things to watch and hear. Food OK, not as good as BA as I had flown a couple of months previous with them, but drinks were easily available all through the flights. Price for flights were reasonable and times of flights suited me coming and going to my destinations.

LHR-ZRH-STR return. Bought the ticket on Expedia, being the lowest fare to Stuttgart. Everything worked perfectly including timekeeping which is something Swiss seem to take very seriously. ZRH transfer trouble free. Will certainly look at Swiss for long haul via ZRH in future as their fares appear competitive. Service on board was cheerful and up to the standard of most others

Like all flag carriers, its in-flight service is fairly basic. This was my first time flying Swiss and I was unlucky enough to have my evening flight from GVA cancelled. Without any questions, Swiss put me up overnight at a five star airport hotel for free, with breakfast included, and transferred my booking to a flight the following day. I was very impressed by this commitment to a stranded passenger and would happily fly Swiss again.

Vienna-Zürich-Vienna in C Class. Old A320 plane, service and cabin crew good. Small breakfast served after take-off. Zürch-Vienna also on time. Very good meal on this flight and charming cabin crew.
