Singapore to Kuala Lumpur return. Connecting from long haul flight from Zurich. Only criticism is
meagre baggage allowance of 15kg. Had to pay for excess baggage. Aircraft used A320 brand new and
very clean. Cabin service professional for budget airline. For a budget carrier streets ahead of
European budget carriers. will fly with them again.

The 1st week of Sept, knowing that AirAsia would be discontinuing Macau-Kuching vv effective end of
Oct, they still advertised their promotion over the media offering attractive prices travelling on
this route. Obviously, everybody flocked into their website buying tickets for the next 6 months or
so. 2 weeks later, I was aware that they began to re-shuffle this route from daily to 3 times a
week. A week after that, they decided to discontinue operating this route effective 25th OCT. I
started making calls to their hotline, as I was holding more than 10 trips on this route (tickets
purchased without promotion price). To my dissapointment, I was put on hold for more than 30 mins
each time. A total of 10 calls were made for the next 3 days. On 17th SEP, 11am, since I was on my
way to Hong Kong in KLIA, I approached their counter personally. Nobody was manning their counter,
as I stood there for more than 40 mins. The information counter reassured me that AirAsia counter
was open, so I had no choice but to wait. Eventually a staff member turned up and she said
everything is still confirmed. I insisted that she double check, when she then made a call. She
then reply " Call our Call Centre, I cannot help you". I was given 2 numbers, one which is the
same number, again on 'HOLD' and the other was a "Wrong Department!" quoted by the person answering
the phone. Airasia always re-time (shuffling few flights to one if the loading is light) their
flights not regarding if you have a connecting flight (in the same airline), they will not be
responsible and the word 'DELAY' is common. What pushes me to travel with them on this particular
route is only the convenience which saves me time for a transit stop. With the attitude of their
staff and the way they handle their operational disruption, my strong advice to fellow travellers is
to avoid this airline by all means. Their price are not that cheap compared to other full service
airline, sometimes they are more expensive due to hidden cost (which cannot be refund if situation
like this occurs). Most probably, they would re-route me at the end, giving me no choice but to
transit in KL, because they operate MFM-KUL vv 4 times a day (daily) with exceptional light load.
They may be one of the most successful no frills in South East Asia, that is because their
passengers (mostly Mmalaysian) were not given much option to choose the airlines to fly. Besides,
once tickets purchased, no after sales service even though if flights were disrupted. Probably,
Airasia tried to make passengers fed up from trying so hard to contact them thus giving up our paid
trips. All my purchases were done using an user ID, which I cannot see the reason why they cannot
let me know that my flight had been cancelled. Until today, they did not issue a notice saying that
they discontinue this route which I bet a lot of passengers would be furious during checking in on
departure day.

OOL-KUL-OOL in economy class. I bought tickets for my wife, 7 yr old son and I after the reading the
reviews below. Overall both flights were good (uneventful, on time) and good value for money.
Service was good, pre-purchased meals surprisingly tasty and filling. You can buy food, drinks and
gifts on board but pre-purchased meals are much cheaper. Took on board own portable DVD which kept
my son happy. Being a budget airline, if you prepare well for the 8 hour trip and don't have 1st
class expectations, it should be ok. Suggest warm clothes on the flight as aircon works well. The
only negative point is the walking across the tarmac at OOL and KUL, we were lucky it didn't rain.

KUL-CNX-KUL. No problem during whole trip, no delay and arrived ahead of schedules. Great services
both ground and the air crew. Great fares as i plan this trip a year ago and no charges for the
checked baggage. Did try out the nasi lemak which is actually quite good but small in portion. I did
try out their new smoked chicken sandwich is very nice and fresh and is worth to buying it. The
boarding procedures, however, are chaotic but did managed to get my favorite seat. Did try out their
express boarding on the way back and is worth of trying to avoid the pushing. Maybe Airasia would
consider a paid option for seat assignment and I would pay for my favorite seat just to avoid
pushing and rushing for the seat.

KUL-REP-KUL-LGK-KUL-SIN. Inflight, the service is pretty good and the seats are quite comfortable
although the legroom isn't particularly generous. Flights generally on time. Boarding procedures,
however, are chaotic and the free seating policy is senseless. Flying from point to point on Air
Asia is fine but if you have connections on other airlines, especially at KLIA, it is simply not
worth the tiny savings (when compared to MAS) on their airfares and the incredible hassle of getting
to/from the LCCT and the main terminal.

February 2008, I book Air Asia flight Jakarta - Solo - Jakarta. There is no problem when I book it.
At the end of August 2008, I get SMS from AirAsia that informs me the flights have been cancelled. I
contact Air Asia Call Centre. AirAsia debit the amount that we pay when we book the flight in one
until three months. There are many destination has been cancelled by Air Asia. Be careful when you
book Air Asia.

DPS-KUL one-way. Booked 6 months in advance, got a superb rate, but paid Rp 750.000 (around 54€) at
DPS for extra kilos which was expected - thanks to the comments on this forum. New, clean A320 with
smart & efficient cabin crew. Pre-booked Asian meal cheap & tasty plus drinks reasonably priced at
RM4-5. The music they play onboard is too loud for me but otherwise, excellent product and a very
good performance by professional crew. Moreover, LCCT was a hassle-free experience and bags were out
relatively quickly. Great job from start to finish!

OOL-KUL in XL class - worth the upgrade as when I booked a promotion offered the XL seat for barely
10% more than the standard economy. The leather seats need re-upholstering and the carpet is stained
but ample recline and legroom make up for it. If you are willing to pay a premium for extra space
and don't need the usual extras offered by traditional business class then this is a great option
for travel between Australia and SE Asia. Upgrades were being sold at check in for Au$250 one way. A
digiplayer to provide IFE was offered onboard for 30RM, I hadn't seen this service offered when I
booked so perhaps it is new.

We have just had 4 flights and would recommend the express boarding for just a little extra. I
booked all online even the meals - nice new planes with leather upholstery and very efficient staff.
Only being allowed 15kg for baggage before you pay excess is a bit harsh and then having to queue up
again to pay before they will issue your boarding pass is a hassle but overall a very good airline.
The domestic airport is about 18 kms away from the main terminal building so allow for extra time if
you have a connecting international flight.

BKK-KUL-MES and DPS-CGK-BKK. Good value for money although they charged us for excess luggage in
every single leg. First 2 flights operated with new A320's while the last 2 flights operated by the
Indonesian subsidiary with old 737-300's. Transit through KUL LCCT was quick and easy although we
had to go through immigration and customs, and check in again for the flight to MES. However,
transit through CGK was a pain as we had to change terminals and we almost missed the flight to BKK
despite having 2 hours in between flights. In general, cabin crews efficient and more or less nice
(much more professional than Lion Air cabin crews). Good security checks. They explained how to open
emergency windows prior take off. I would not hesitate to fly with them again

BKK to Chiang Mai and Krabi. Booked online which was easy, but beware if you want to change flights
- this cannot be done in their Air Asia agent shops, must be done by phone! And no-one answers. All
4 flights took off and landed on time or early. I booked 'Priority Boarding' which was great as you
get the pick of the seats and seemed to be the only person who did (for a mere 150 Baht it is worth
it). Tight luggage restrictions but excellent fares. Service was fine and FAs friendly and
efficient.

Singapore to Phuket. Booked flight 8 months in advance for only 50 USD including all fees. Got to
airport a few hours early, but Air Asia would not let me check in until 2 hours before the flight.
Not a big deal, went to Terminal 2 and read magazines in bookstore. Flight on brand new A320.
About 70% full, mostly with a few groups. Seat pitch was tight, but I had my own row. Flight
attendants friendly and atmosphere was almost Southwestlike. I would definitely fly them again in
Asia, especially for the price.

Hanoi to Bangkok. Bangkok to Chiang Mai & back. All tickets were bought direct from the Air Asia
offices in Hanoi & Chiang Mai. Staff there were pleasant & helpful & explained all the rules, incl
excess baggage. The plane from Hanoi to Bangkok was new. Just before take off there was cool water
vapour being sprayed from the roof which was nice in the Hanoi summer. The other flights were on
Boeing 737s which are not so nice but do the job. I've no complaints about Air Asia - it's a good
cheap way to get around. All the flights took off slightly late but landed on time.

Singapore to Phuket and back. Check in, was efficient and friendly, even though many passengers
complained about the baggage surcharge, which seemed to be strictly enforced. The flights left on
time and food and drink sold on board were affordable. Overall good for a budget airline. After a
terrible time on Ryanair a few years ago, I have kept away from budget airlines

KL-Macau and Macau-KL this month. Return flight was delayed by an hour. Received a short SMS from
them that flight would be delayed about 4 hours before departure. Couldn't get through their busy
call centre to confirm flight delay. Attendants, although not rude, were not friendly. No smiles
nor greetings when we boarded plane. Attendants were talking to each other instead of saying the
customary goodbye / thank you.

CGK-DPS return. For the price, it was reasonable, and advanced baggage was cheap. However, both legs
were late, with the return leg some 2.5 hours late. The aircraft were old 737-300 and the unreserved
seating created unordered queuing and people running across the tarmac to board the aircraft. At
least the boarding seemed fairly ordered with the stewardesses encouraging people to use the first
available seat.

I paid for a bulkhead seat, but as those seats have a double armrest on you left and right, it makes
them even narrower. I am a big guy, so could not physically fit in. Fortunately a free set of 2
seats window side was available that I moved to, and lifted the armrest between. The pitch is one of
the lowest in airlines, so if you are over 6 ft, pay for the emergency exit seats, or be miserable.
The "european" choice of meal on international flights that you can pre select online, was just a
Hot Dog, so go for the "Malaysian" meal choice on international sectors.

Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur return. Only one complaint. Paid for the Comfort Kit which was on my
ticket but the staff said I was not entitled to it even though I paid $7 for it. The trip was a
very comfortable for a low budget aircraft - leg room it was good. Meals even though very small,
well presented and tasty.

Used Air Asia KL-KKL and Sandakan-KL. Found them attentive and efficient. Seats do not recline much
on these short flights. They need a train between the two terminals at KL. Did not have a very
friendly reception at Air Asia's Premium Plaza Lounge at KL LCC.

BKK-CGK-BKK. Paid extra for express boarding, and it was worth the money to avoid the pushing and
rush for seats. The flights were both fine - both left 30mins late, but made up a bit of time during
the flight. Check-in was efficient on both legs of the trip. Considering how little I paid - and how
much cheaper it was than the full-fare carriers - it was a good trip.

Singapore to Phuket to Bangkok. Both flights left and arrived on time. Stuff for sale on plane but
did not partake so cannot really comment. Flights both quite full, usual line up at gate well
before it opened. Cabin crew were there but not overly friendly.

BKK-PNH-BKK. Tired aircraft but clean; probably only 30-50% full. Return left early so was at the
finger (as opposed to tarmac as on way out) about 20 minutes ahead of schedule. 4* given in context
of a budget airline but the whole experience, although not entirely different from say Ryanair, was
much more pleasant. Check-in on both directions was a breeze. Tip: If returning to BKK and you're
worried about baggage weight or quantity, the left luggage at BKK charges 100 Baht per day so we
only took one suitcase - cheaper than paying for 2 + an excess of 10kg, and very convenient
travelling light.

First time user of Air Asia recently from OOL-KUL-Phuket-BKK-Phuket-KUL-OOL. Gold Coast to Malayasia
GC legs in an old Airbus A330 aircraft with bits hanging off the inside (if you fly in this one
check out the missing panels in the foot area of the last economy seats on the right and also the
serviettes stuffed by the crew into the whistling hole above these seats. Coming back to Oz chose
the XL seats because no promo economy available, the XL's were twice as much $ but lots of room.
Other than that no complaints the airfare was cheap and crew excellent. Other flights in modern
aircraft no problems.

KUL-VTE, KUL- Sandakan and KUL-BKK. All flights on time and pretty quiet. The planes were new, and
managed to secure emergency exit on every flight (freestyle boarding has it's advantages). The food
was cheap - 8 ringgit for a Nasi Lemak is a bargain. Sure, the terminals were lack lustre, but the
cabin crew were attentive. Loved them. Not to mention I got most of my flights for $0 - just the taxes!

CGK-DPS-CGK. Both legs on B733, comfortable enough for short haul flights, but I will avoid flying
it for longer flights. Cabin clean, lavatories smaller than the ones on Garuda B737, but well
maintained during the flights. FAsvery helpful, friendly and cheerful. I've flown ID AirAsia four
times on CGK-DPS vv and I'm always satisfied with them. Except for the limited, rather blend meals
onboard, which you purchase. The fares are very attractive, but the service is excellent!

I flew Indonesia Air Asia for the first time in over a year CGK-PDG and return. The Indonesia arm of
Air Asia was always the Cinderella of the family, but now it has gone downhill rapidly. Both sectors
'retimed' at 24hrs notice - allowing the airline to replace two half-empty flights with one jam-
packed service. Re-timing meant I was already 1.5hrs late, then on both sectors there was a further
delay of 1hr with no information whatsoever. They have a no outside food policy but on board there
is no real food. Only instant noodles and peanuts. FA's and other staff looked as tired and fed-up
as the passengers. The planes on both sectors were old and tatty 737s. And yes, they skin you for
every last cent these days with charges for hold baggage, insurance that is added whether you want
it or not, and 'express boarding' which is just a pantomime. Avoid.

BKK-JKT recently. When we did our check in (3 of us), the lady weigh our luggage quickly then goes
on to say 12 kilos over weight. We told her that we already weighed our bags at the hotel before and
was quite sure that ours were no more than a couple of kilos over. We demanded that she did the
weighing one more time in front of us one by one. Turned out we were right, our bags were only 2
kilos over. Almost got tricked! So, be careful people, make sure you guys see the weight of each bag
and don't just trust what the officer says. Plane was quite good, seats are new, clean, and service
was okay. To sum up, 2 stars for the check in experience, and 4 star for flight experience.

We recently flew OOL to KUL and KUL to BKI with a one year old. I was initially very concerned as I
had read some bad reviews about Air Asia X but am happy to say that we had a great experience.
Staff very friendly and helpful, and all flights left and arrived on time. The plane from OOL to
KUL was not the newest plane but was clean - seats don't recline much but can't complain for how
cheap the flights are. Overall a good experience and would fly Air Asia again!
