"extremely disappointing experience"

Trip Verified | I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with the security staff at Valencia Airport. The service was abysmal, with staff displaying bad attitudes, rudeness, and a complete lack of communication regarding the security process. It was embarrassing to witness such incompetence from what should be a well-managed team. In particular, the lady operating the X-ray machine on the morning of March 16th made me walk through the security line twice due to her inefficiency, i was not the only one this happened to as she continuously rolled her eyes as if it wasn't self inflicted. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the airport's professionalism and customer service standards.

"staff friendly and helpful"

Trip Verified | A moderate sized airport with fast security processing times, decent duty-free shopping and enough seats with a power socket. Signaling isn't the clearest however as the airport was build in 3 steps. Half of the gates are bus boarding only. It has a convenient metro connection to the city center. Wifi was quite good and staff friendly and helpful.

"treated me with utmost disrespect"

Not Verified | The worst airport staff I have ever seen. They only speak Spanish (or incomprehensible English) and are very inefficient and unprofessional. At the security check, they took out every single item from my backpack for no reason at all, and it took me 15 minutes to put everything back in place to make the contents fit in my backpack. They also made me go through some additional checks, again totally unjustified, and all the time they treated me with utmost disrespect and harshness. The extra security checks might be justified, it is good to be extra careful, but the disrespect and harshness a foreigner is exposed to at this airport is something that needs to be changed. Nobody has the right to treat someone with such cruelty just for being a foreigner. It was the first and definitely the last time I took a flight from this airport and I do not recommend it to anyone.

"not able to use the toilets"

Not Verified | There was no access to toilets for more then 45 minutes in departures hall. We had a delay, it was very busy and a very unpolite lady was cleaning toilets. More than 20 people waiting in line who had to catch a plane and not able to use the toilets.

"humiliated and disrespected"

Trip Verified | I am 76 and have a hip replacement. Yesterday evening I went through the security scan. I was flying to Heathrow, flight BA 0445, May 17th, 20.50. The alarm went off and I explained my hip replacement. This was ignored. I was man handled and treated very roughly and rudely. The security man even pulled back the back of my trousers and looked down them. I was humiliated and disrespected in front of passengers. After I asked him for his number and name. I did I was unhappy about how I had been pushed about and treated. He put his face into mine and gave me a very threatening point with his finger. I am a respectable professional man. I also served 10 years in the police. I do not deserve to be treated in this discriminatory way and I hope my complaint will be heard.

"Terrible airport"

Not Verified | Terrible airport. Very small. The air inside was horrible. It was so hot in the entire airport. It shocked me that there were no stations for refilling your water bottle. Also Wi-Fi connection was very poor. The most bizarre situation occurred when there were closed both (yes, there are only two) toilettes for women. Cleaning ladies just closed it and cleaned it for 30 minutes! There was queue of approximately 50 women. Our flight Is delayed. We don't know why or for how long. According to information board we are already in the air. Boarding didn't even started.

"airport is small but fine"

Not Verified | Beware of the awful Ryanair hostesses. The airport is small but fine. The real hustle are the Ryanair hostesses at the gate. Truly horrible experience. Make sure you stuff your pockets with any excess item, they will charge you almost 50 euros for a tiny purse without giving you the time to reorganize your backpack. Even threatening that you will miss your flight if you don't pay. Terrible.

"This is an absolute disgrace"

Not Verified | On the 20th of November 2021 I was on the phone to my friend who was having issues with a passenger locator form for arriving in Scotland. The way the staff at the check in desk spoke to my friend was a down right disgrace and in other airports would such mannerisms be accepted! The staff would not provide any help to my friend and would also not speak to myself over the phone who had flown out of the airport 3 days prior! This is an absolute disgrace and as an airport you should take immediate action! Only for a kind passenger who over heard the matter would still not be sorted! Then proceeded to go to security where the security decided the throw about two expensive laptops! 0/5 experience! Would love to see their reaction if we treated them the same in any of our UK airports!

"I asked twice if English was possible"

Not Verified | We departed Valencia Airport. Because of an injury on my leg I used a crutch. I could not go through the normal security port, so I was let through a separate door. It took more than 5 minutes to explain my situation to a lady at security because she only spoke Spanish. I asked twice if English was possible. But she kept on speaking Spanish. When I was at the security a man checked me, again only speaking Spanish. I told him 3 times that I didn't understand him and asked if he could speak English. But he kept on in Spanish. Then he took my crutch and put it through the scanner. I was sitting on a chair, and then he pointed to me to stand up. That was not possible without my crutch I told him, so I kept on sitting. At that moment I refused to listen any longer to him, or trying to understand what he wanted. If he was that stupid, and kept on speaking Spanish I no longer wanted to cooperate. I made that very clear to him. Then he let me go. I understand that I was in Spain where people speak Spanish, but I don't understand that employees at an international airport can't speak English. That's completely ridiculous! I visited many airports, big and very small, in the world but never ever was at an airport with such unqualified staff as in Valencia.

"do not yet offer water fountains"

Trip Verified | I find it absolutely ridiculous that in 2019 airports as popular as that of Valencia do not yet offer water fountains to refill your water bottle. Sort this out for the sake of the environment.
