Kangerlussuaq Airport

✅ Trip Verified | Kangerlussuaq is where you enter Greenland on Air Greenland flights, you arrive here from Copenhagen on their A330 and continue on board smaller planes to towns around this massive land. Airport is very relaxed, on domestic flights there is no security check so you simply arrive, check-in your luggage and off you go. The only flight you have security check is the one to Copenhagen. Terminal is very small, it has couple of shops and cafes and also an outdoor terrace where anyone can enter and watch the airplanes. There is only one tiny luggage belt on arrival so when A330 arrives it's very packed and for some reason it took about half an hour for our luggage to arrive. They are now expanding airports in the capital Nuuk and also in the main tourist destination Ilulissat to receive larger aircraft, so future of Kangerlussuaq is a bit cloudy.
