"one of the worst lounges visited"
P Plaisted (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Without any doubt one of the worst lounges visited in recent years. The place reeks of cigarette smoke, the wine is almost undrinkable and the food revolting. It was 21.30 and the food on offer was limited and had clearly been "simmering" all day. Avoid this lounge - sadly the only offering for Qatar Airways Business Class

"it is a disappointment"
Amanda Macrae (Australia)
Not Verified | I have been to this lounge many times in hope of an improvement only to find once again it is a disappointment. The food is of little choice and poor quality. The Bintang is virtually at room temperature. The only wine available is the local wine which personally is not my favourite. You have to ask for an alcoholic drink and the selection is beer and wine only. My family and I have flown garuda for many years and enjoy every flight. We are always served quality food and wine inclusive of Champagne. The drink and food selection on on the flight is plentiful. It is hard to believe they are one and the same.

"not what one expects from a 5-Star airline"
P Meare (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | This Denpasar lounge lived up to all the negative reviews. As one of Garuda Indonesia's most important hubs you would expect something decent. Instead the food was minimal and not tasty. Alcoholic drinks were behind a little enclave that didn't even look like a bar and was barely attended. The range was small and when I asked for a red wine, the young attendant tried to serve it in a sparkling wine glass! And this is meant to be a business class lounge! The lounge was oddly shaped / arranged and hot although I found the whole airport hot with poor air conditioning. Staff were more interested in standing around and chatting to each other than actually doing any work. As this was the beginning of a Garuda business trip, it certainly lowered my expectations for the flight ahead. Certainly not what one expects from a 5-Star airline!

"I am extremely disappointed"
Stephanie Hawkins (Australia)
Not Verified | The Business Class Lounge was clean but the seats were terribly uncomfortable. Sitting there for an extended time became painful. Then there was the food. Some rice with a few assorted vegetables with potato wedges and crumbed fish pieces , that was it. No variation of food. The desert was a jelly with fruit and some pastries, the only thing edible was the jelly. The overall food presentation was disgraceful. My sister and I paid $25 each at another lounge last year and had a wonderful feast with lounge comfort seating. I am extremely disappointed with Garuda. They need to pick up their game and for Business Class this was totally unacceptable.

"This place really is a joke"
Dave Reynolds (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | This place really is a joke. I remember years ago when Garuda had a decent business class lounge with a fully stocked, manned bar and edible food. In this lounge the food is luke warm-cold and not very appetising with a cooking station which doesn't seem to cook. If you want a drink there is a fridge with soft drinks in. If you want alcohol there is only wine or beer, both of which you have to ask for if you can get someones attention. For an airline which is otherwise quite good, this is a real let down for the passengers that pay good money for a business class ticket and expect a business class service.

"What an absolute disgrace"
1 reviews G Walden (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | What an absolute disgrace this lounge is! What makes it even worse is that this is Garuda’s own lounge at one of Indonesia’s busiest airports. It could have been a chance for this 5 star airline to showcase its hospitality and local cuisine. What we get us a bland range of salad and totally unappetising food including stone cold spring rolls and the plain cheese sandwiches. Very poor Range of drinks with alcoholic drinks (one red wine and one white wine and a few warm Bintang beers) kept in a manned ‘mini bar’. Absolutely laughable.

"lounge falls way short of the standard"
K Neale (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | Having arrived we were the only passengers in the Garuda lounge at Denpasar Bali Airport which is a first for me .The Mini bar station not manned so had to hunt down staff to serve you from a selection of one white and red wine, very limited and just beer. Mostly avoid the food, rice was Luke warm along with chicken pieces. All the heated dishes were not on or on the lowest setting and spring rolls were stone cold. So very disappointed and crossing my fingers that Bali belly is not caught in the business lounge! They need to seriously educate their kitchen staff to serve hot food and please a smile from the one and only server would have been welcomed. Suggest at least one screen inside lounge for departures so you don’t have to keep nipping out to the main reception to see if boarding is underway. As a seasoned business traveller, this lounge falls way short of the standard.

"has been poorly thought out"
2 reviews M Peale (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | The lounge at Terminal 3, Jakarta Airport is in a brand new terminal, but the passenger offer has been poorly thought out and the design is average. If Garuda wishes to compete with other 5 star airline lounges, they need to take feedback, particularly from European customers, about what is expected. The quality and range of food on offer was poor. There needs to be a better range of soft drinks, some cheeses, cakes/pastries, fresh fruit such as bananas/apples/grapes on offer as not everyone is happy to eat rice and carbohydrate rich food before a flight. There is no point in having a toaster and sliced bread to use, if there are no knives available/allowed to spread the butter/jam on the bread. The chairs are crowded together, hard and upright, and uncomfortable if waiting 2 hours for a flight. The toilets were clean and there were sufficient staff clearing the tables. Business users with laptops need waist high tables to be able to type comfortably, and the furniture available needs to be better tailored for there needs. Numerous floor plug sockets did not work, so my husband had a problem trying to charge his phone.

"you should be ashamed"
Trevor Oldfield (Australia)
Not Verified | To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I cannot believe the lack of service. They had a live cooking station with chicken noodle soup and I must say the operator was the least enthusiastic and friendly person I had met in Bali. I am not sure if she knows what customer service is. No smile, points to the the different noodles and with a grunt asks what ones I wanted and with no finesse slops the noodles and shallots into the bowl. I really felt like laughing it was so unbelievable. The selection of food was poor and the service was the worst. Garuda seriously you should be ashamed.

"Food very basic"
1 reviews Frank Mayland (Indonesia)
Not Verified | Terminal 3 Jakarta Airport international business class lounge seating is ok. Food and beverage is a minus. Both domestic and international lounge in terminal 3 are not very good when it comes to the food and beverage selection on offer. Food very basic and beverage is sweet sugary juices, sweet sugary soft drinks and water. Not a decent drink in sight and no alcohol too. Fly out of Jakarta and like to spend decent time in a lounge waiting for your flight. Use a different airline and lounge (not that the others are much better but better they are).

7 reviews Chris Walsh (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Okay lounge which is slightly better than the premier lounge. Comfy seats although quite busy. "well below a 5-star standard"
Adrian McKay (Indonesia)
✅ Trip Verified | One would expect a 5-star airline to extend this high standard to the Business Class lounge at their main hub. I find Garuda's domestic lounge to be well below a 5-star standard. It is not too much to expect that the toilets are clean & properly stocked. It seems that nobody ever checks to see if there is tissue in the toilets and soap to wash hands. There are staff standing near the toilets but they don’t appear to have any function. I suggest that Garuda lets a company that understands service to run their lounges.

"very disappointing experience"
S Vonk (Netherlands)
❎ Unverified | Dnata lounge at Singapore that Garuda Indonesia use. Food looked like it had been there for hours without being refreshed. Selection of food is what you would expect from a low-cost/budget carrier, not a 5-star airline where you pay roughly €2200 for a ticket. Showers were dirty: hairs on the walls, stains and dirt in the sink. Overall a very disappointing experience compared to our flight from Amsterdam - the KLM lounge at Schiphol was 100x better than the DNATA lounge at Changi Singapore. Also very poor wifi - we were not even able to do a simple facetime audio call.

"needs a lot of improvement"
D Trayanto (Indonesia)
✅ Verified Review | A new lounge with nice ambience at Jakarta Terminal 3, but needs a lot of improvement. No enough seat during the peak hours, some of the seats are located far away from the pantry and rather dark. The layout does not seem to consider that many travellers are solo, so no need to have too many 3/4-seater sofas. The way it is arranged today, requires one to trespass others when walking in/out to get food, quite unpleasant. Not all has proper coffee table, so it was quite uncomfortable. Food & drink quality is low, did not match with the ambience. Staff needs more training to be more professional in presentation and attitude. I noticed a few giggling & chatting in public space exposed to passengers. It is brand new but due to low maintenance, things already got dirty, staff do not bother to really clean the place. It is quite disheartening to see the mismatch of the expensive facility with the quality of manpower. If no firm intervention by the management, I am afraid in no time this lounge will turn into a rundown ugly old lounge.

"the worst business lounge"
M Winfield (Australia)
❎ Unverified | Sad end to a excellent Bali holiday and extremely poor compared to the rest of Garuda's offering. Open to the main concourse and very hot and stuffy. Last thing you want having battled your way to the airport. Wine and beer only available on request, but nothing to indicate you need to order except for other helpful passengers. Food looks like it has been there for hours, coffee tastes like dish water. Definitely the worst business lounge I've experienced.

"menu only has small choices"
1 reviews Indra Kam (Indonesia)
✅ Verified Review | The lounge is located on the left side of Garuda Indonesia's executive lounge. For the first class lounge they dont provide buffet menu, but a la carte. A few snacks and sandwiches are available at the mini table (if you want some buffet you can just walk in to executive lounge and the choices have more variety (mostly Indonesians food). The A La Carte menu only has small choices and i chose the fish option accompanied by Chardonay which tasted surprisingly good. The minus points are that the menu book is in poor quality which looks like has been used for a long time without any changing, and the humidity in the lounge is very high, probably because the lounge is in an opened area which gets very noisy sometimes from the announcements. Overall the lounge facility cannot be compared with The Pier First or Al Safwa but the service from staff a top notch.

"lounge reasonably comfortable"
A Humphries (Australia)
Lounge is reasonably comfortable. Air conditioning and general air circulation is very poor. The food...I sat in the lounge for nearly 7 hrs. During that time the bulk of the food sat there as well. All food exposed to the air had dried out, gone cold and hard in relation to bread. Most dishes were flourishing with bar like flies. I would recommend eating downstairs and using the lounge as a semi quiet place to wait for your flight. Staff were polite. Nowhere to plug your usb in unless you have a power convertor. Nothing noted to be child friendly either in this lounge. Children would become very bored. No screen to advise of flight gates or status either.

The lounge is very contemporary with a very clean fit-out, lots of space for easy movement and great views of the Airport. "staff were very attentive "
47 reviews L Taphon (Australia)
✅ Verified Review | Flying home with Garuda Business Class, I decided to give their Lounge a visit. I think the Lounge needs a much prominent space and entry as I walked into the wrong lounge. Two aspects which I think needs to be worked on is the space of the Lounge, it should be bigger and the food options, as it should have more of a western menu and alcohol should be freely available instead of having to ask for it. The staff were very attentive which reflected Garuda's customer service qualities, overall good experience.

"disappointed in this lounge"
Lisa Harvey (Australia)
I was so disappointed in this lounge. Firstly, it was in an open area above the shopping part of the airport. It was really warm and I ended up hot and with a headache. There was no alcohol in the fridges and by the time I realised you needed to ask for it, I needed to board. The food was appalling. It was luke warm and minimal. I got to the airport early for my departure from Bali to enjoy the lounge, how wrong I was. It ended up being a long wait. The internet was extremely slow also. The toilets were also not working and instead of teaming up with another lounge on the same floor, we had to go back down staris into the public area. Now public toilets don't bother me and that's not the issue, the issue is they were so far from the lounge. Ridiculous. So sad to be writing a review like this.

The new skyteam lounge has just been opened a few months, it is located near gate 15 in downstairs, occupying what used to be the old Qantas lounge area. "stuffy and warm"
E Robertson (Australia)
Lounge in Denpasar was above the main shopping area and not enclosed so the noise level was louder than I would have liked, as well as being stuffy and warm. The food was appalling - was minimal, lukewarm, and tasteless. Drinks - there was very minimal selection of alcoholic beverages. One choice of wine and Bintang, normal soft drink selections, juice was horrid. Comfy chairs, charging stations for phones, laptops etc and free wifi. I would have rather paid for food at one of the new eateries downstairs (eg Hard Rock Cafe) than eat at the lounge. One other downside is you cannot hear announcements and the screen for departures was at the front of the lounge. This meant we had to continuously check the time and check the board to see when we needed to leave for our gate.

"poor excuse for a business class lounge"

This is a poor excuse for a business class lounge. There are no toilet facilities, there is no service other than two female staff members at the entry with very little interest in anything. Milk for the coffee machine was warm, the food appeared to have been sitting there for some time with no visible signs of any member of staff attending to it. Other facilities that one would expect from a business class lounge non existent. I was informed the new lounge will be opening within the month. Garuda have let themselves down considerably, there are other lounge areas at the airport available that Garuda could attempt to make use of. If not at minimum provide $25 USD to first and business class passengers to make use of the TG Premium lounge available to all whom visit the airport and are willing to pay.

"staff service non existent"
Alistair Nicoll (United Kingdom)
I agree with other negative ratings of this lounge. It is a disgrace, staff service non existent, facilities zero. The hot food (chicken and fish) was cold and the when I asked how long it had been out was told 3 hours - the only response from the staff member on the front desk was to heat it up. I suggested that it would be better to replace it. Finally after 2 hours and more complaints it was replaced with fish in soggy batter.

"very fulfilling and relaxing lounge experience"
Martinus Suryanto (Indonesia)
The Garuda staff said that this Emerald Sky Lounge has just been refurbished with new facility and design. It's good to find one shower in this lounge, very much help after arriving from a late night flight. They offered wide range of food choices for breakfast time, including mung bean soup, fried rice, Indonesian fried noodle, breads and pastries. A very fulfilling and relaxing lounge experience while waiting for next flight.

"new Sydney Skyteam lounge is a delight"
2 reviews Julie Dahl (Australia)
Apart from the chaos that is Sydney International Airport, the new Skyteam lounge that Garuda Indonesia use is a delight. Lots of zones, eating, resting, working and waiting. Nice selection of foods at breakfast time for both western and Asian tastes. Plenty of recharging points, and a nice ambience overlooking the tarmac.

"classy ambience of first class lounge"
2 reviews Julie Dahl (Australia)
Met at arrival gate by two friendly uniformed staff who helped with hand luggage and navigated us to the sweet quiet and classy ambience of the first class lounge. A Steinway grand provided a background to our restful stay. The lounge is divided into 4 areas. A dining area where we enjoyed a preflight meal chosen from an interesting menu, and in my case designed nicely for a vegetarian. The broth was delightful and the fine beverages were discreetly topped up. Second there is a shower area and an enclosed smoking room and an area with a sign saying reflexology. Shower was spacious perfectly clean and equipped with L'occitane toiletries and a Toto bidet. The third area is for personal tv viewing where I caught my AFL team the Lions, doing what they do best - finishing with the wooden spoon. The final area has semi private sleep lounges assisted by the background piano. Collected at exactly the right time for a wander to the gate just prior to departure.

"an insult to passengers who've paid good money"
Margaret Smith (Australia)
Whilst this is apparently still a temporary venue, it is an insult to passengers who've paid good money to travel Business Class. What makes this seem even worse is that most Garuda flights to Australia leave Bali very late in the evening. Customers arrive at the lounge after a late checkout from their hotel, feeling tired, looking forward to catching a few hours sleep on the 'flat bed', it is reasonable to assume that they may wish to enjoy a few quiet drinks and a light meal before hopping onto the plane. There are some single armchairs, no tables for putting food/ drinks on, very few power outlets, poor reading materials, no private areas, with the food choices/presentation befitting a canteen. Luckily I had read that it was possible to get a wine/ beer if you know that you must ask for it. This is all such a pity because the actual flying experience is very good and quite comparable to other airlines charging similar prices for their premium travel.

"ridiculous that this lounge is still temporary"
Jo Hogan (Australia)
Absolutely ridiculous that this lounge is still a temporary lounge - the airport has been built, restaurants are open other lounges have been open for more than six months and Garuda still haven't got their act together. I'm told that Bintang isn't available till 7pm? Maybe Garuda should consider giving a refund to compensate travellers who have paid for business class expecting service - or team up with an open Lounge the other airlines have done. It's not rocket science. And even if Garuda insist on keeping the temporary lounge, at least provide a decent service - it wouldn't kill you.

"lots of facilities and overall satisfied"
Zeng Yixie (China)
The lounge have lots of facilities and is overall satisfied. with plenty of seats nice view to the airside friendly staffs. But air-conditional not always working the lounge is a little bit warm. The lounge does not have much food to eat but with enough kind of drink. I went for shower two times (I booked return trip) the first time the shower room it have no shampoo gels or even towels but the second time it was just like an 4 star hotel room which is tidy and with all the things i want.

"the Lounge in Denpasar the only let down"
Melinda Gorringe (Australia)
This is definitely not a business class lounge there are no toilet facilities - you have to use the public ones. Food is ok but wine is below average and you have to chase a staff member to get a wine or beer. We keep being told that this is a temporary lounge but no one can ever tell us when the new lounge will be ready - the new airport has been open some 18 months now - how long can is possibly take. It is disappointing as the facilities onboard in business class are very good with the Lounge in Denpasar being the only let down.

"Restaurant style dining, beautiful shower rooms"
J Carson (Netherlands)
I have seen the business class lounge a few times and whilst the staff are nice and food is okay the rest is overcrowded with poor showers and very limited seating at peak times. Now I use the First Class lounge and what a difference. Restaurant style dining beautiful shower rooms nice TV pods. Staff okay but the aircon is switched down and you need blankets to keep warm!

"lounge in the old terminal although sub average was better"
Tim Holmes (Australia)
The lounge cannot qualify as either a Business or certainly not First class lounge and should not be promoted as such. Food is at best basic dipping to appalling. No alcohol served unless asked for then only beer and wine and not promoted. They have been promising a new lounge for 12 months. The old lounge in the old terminal although sub average was better. No shower or restroom given 1 star to both bar and restroom only because I can't submit without adding a score!

"food terrible, alcohol hidden behind a bar"
J Mcmyler (Australia)
Transit of 8 hours after arriving in from Australia to connect onto AMS. Lounge extremely warm one half closed off until close to 8pm. Food terrible alcohol hidden behind a bar never saw any staff member there finally helped myself. No towels in shower asked reception however nothing happened. Major gripe was after asking if I could pay to upgrade to first class was told they could not help me and I would need to go to cashier which is located landside. Therefore I was expected to clear customs to access this. Why couldn't they pick up the phone and ask? Major difference in staff compared to the inflight cabin crew who were outstanding in business class. Not impressed at all.

"a waitress would bring you a glass of wine"
Tony Hall (Australia)
Domestic departures was through the old domestic arrivals area. Business lounges for both domestic and international flights were fenced off parts of the main concourses with no computers available. No alcohol was on display but I discovered that in the international lounge a waitress would bring you a glass of wine if you asked for one.

Charles Sirapandji (Indonesia)
This lounge (Korean Air lounge) is spacious and lots comfortable chairs. Internet speed is good but the choice of foods are limited. Although for some passengers food may not be the things to look for but I like to try local foods and due to time constraints in certain country lounges may be the last place to try and have some local dish.

Charles Sirapandji (Indonesia)
Lounges set up was nice lots of lights. Because of this lighting which is good but it has disadvantages - generates heat and room temperatures becomes warmer. Staff are very friendly and helpful although they need further training. Supervisors and Lounge manager should be try harder to make this lounge to be among the best.

"Not relaxing but better than the main terminal"
B Owen (Australia)
This is still a temporary lounge which is simply partitioned off from the rest of the terminal. Didn't have and food or drink. Lounges comfortable but only just enough available. As it is really just a part of the main concourse it suffers from the continuous announcements. Not really relaxing but better than the main terminal I guess. Will be interested to see what GA comes up with once the terminal works are complete.

"The staff were fabulously friendly"
Annalisa Greene (Australia)
The lounge was large with a variety of comfy chairs. There was a quiet room that had a 3 seater couch and other small chairs and tables. There were 3 computers and lots of powerpoint/recharge points for laptops and tablets. The food selection was good although I felt there was more on the Asian side and as I am a bit finicky I was not so fussed. Lots of drinks and hubby was even given a refrigerated glass for his beer. The facilities were very clean and tidy as was the bathroom shower. There was a shower but there did not appear to be any towels and when I commented on the shower to the bathroom attendent but there was no mention of clean towels forthcoming. The staff were fabulously friendly. Our flight was delayed 3 hours and the staff passed around blankets and as it was late they turned down the piped music and dimmed the lights.

S Avant (United Kingdom)
In fact its not a lounge for Business Class ticket holders its a lounge for anyone with $12.00 to spend on entrance. The lounge was old worn out and full of people who had paid the $12.00 for the privilege of a good TV free booze and snacks. Can't blame them but there was no place to sit so we stood outside.

As soon you clear customs when departing you will be approached by Garuda employees offering you access to the Garuda Lounge for $100.000 rph Take my advice and jump on it. We all paid the $100.000 rph and headed in. Bintang on tap spirits food tea coffee and free internet access on their computers. Staff ask you what flight you are on and will let you know when its last drinks and time to board. Worth every cent.

Reykard Van der Yong (United Kingdom)
Lounge is located in right in the front of entry way from check in rows so it is easy to find. The selection of food is quite vary mainly Indonesian fare but there are some western style selection as well. Beverages selection quite plenty with beer available as well for free of charge. The lounge can be quite crowded in the morning and late afternoon. Bathroom were clean with staff kept going around and cleaning them. Staff were very helpful but they need to improve their English to serve their non Indonesian customers. Overall the lounge is very good compare to European standards.

"really crowded in peak morning departure times"
Patrick DuPlessis (United Kingdom)
Visited the lounge 3 times in July. Not a bad facility - not the best but serves its purpose. Gets really crowded in the peak morning departure times but quiet at other periods. Staff quite friendly but not much chat with customers. A fair choice of hot and cold food but needs to be improved to match airlines such as Malaysia Cathay Singapore etc. Small smoking room area nice bar area at one end and 2 internet terminals = wifi not working when I visited the lounge. Washrooms very basic and the 1 shower room was so unpresentable that I preferred not to use it! Not bad for Garuda but they could so much better!
