"Limited selection of hot food"
R Sanyal (United States)
Spent a couple of hours in the lounge transiting between Zurich and JFK. Well laid out. There were secluded sections and a large partitioned room to watch TV. Good w-fi connection and several computers to use. Ample power outlets with all possible standards to accommodate every charger! A good selection of drinks. Comfortable couches. Limited selection of hot food or snacks. Staff was regularly moving about keeping the place tidy. All in all, it was a welcome oasis. Unfortunately, no announcements are made and I suddenly realized I had to get to my gate, which was not adjacent.

"pleasant place to bide your time"
M Cass (United Kingdom)
I connected twice through JFK from London to Brazil in the past week. The Admirals Club in the A Concourse is under renovation until 2017 (there is a temporary facility in this concourse, and full club facilities in the distant B concourse). The Flagship Lounge is still fully open in Concourse A, and compared to other international airline lounges, it is showing it's age. That said however, it is very comfortable, and has decent facilities and the two times I was there, it wasn't that crowded. There is a good selection of beverages at a self-serve area. The food selection is varied with hot and cold foods, and are well presented, and good quality. No table service is offered, but it is still a cut above the normal Admirals Club offering. You won't go hungry in this lounge. The decor is a little dated in muted earth colours, and lacks any style. It is pleasant, but not outstanding. There is a TV area, seated table area for eating, armchairs, and business area with printer. There are well equipped shower facilities to use if you need to freshen up. The massive window area provides a lot of light, and great view of the busy tarmac and Manhattan in the distance. With all the minor shortcomings, what makes this lounge stand out though is the staff. Perhaps the friendliest and helpful attendants in the AA system. Their can-do attitude slightly made up for the extremely unpleasant onboard service from Rio to NYC. I gather that with AA's much-touted 'extreme makeover' of their clubs will eventually see this lounge get the full modernizing treatment, but in the meantime, this is a pleasant place to bide your time before your departure.

"décor is hospital waiting room"
4 reviews Ronald Miller (United States)
Not really as friendly as the TWA Ambassador Club lounge that it replaces, but not bad. It is staffed with many of the same people who worked in the TWA lounge. The décor is the hospital waiting room that one as come to expect from American, but the staff's friendliness makes the difference. A nice place to relax.

"comfortable with good coffee"

I used the American Airlines Admirals Club as a Qantas Club member, and the lounge at LAX Terminal 4 was nice, comfortable with good coffee, bagels, cereal and toast - better than Qantas Club!

"fairly basic lounge"
5 reviews Rafal Pilinski (United Kingdom)
Admirals Club at Tampa Airport, the staff in lounge helpful and friendly. Lounge drinks are fairly basic unless you pay extra for premium drinks (wine, mixers, ect.) Food choices are fairly the same as drink choices, carrot, crackers, celery sticks with humous or choice of soup. Other premium food is at an extra charge. Not much staff to clean left over from previous customers. Fairly basic lounge.

"one of the brighter spots"
1 reviews George Skelton (United States)
One of the brighter spots at Austin Airport is the American Airlines Admirals Club. Great customer agents who work hard to help with schedules and changes. While the club is small, and needs updating, food is good and service is great! It's about the only thing that helps you keep your sanity if you are traveling through Austin. Nice bar!

"lounge is pathetic"
1 reviews Sara Blatt (United States)
This lounge in terminal 3 is pathetic compared to other lounges when you see the minimal food choices. The facility is very large with comfortable seating, but the food is limited to cheese cubes, pretzel mix, brownies, cookies and one drink. A drink can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. I'm not just comparing to Admiral clubs at major airports like Heathrow; even Austin has much better.

"very nice breakfast"
Sara Blatt (United States)
We had a very nice breakfast before an 8:40 am flight. It was lovely, with hot options of creamy scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, potato patties and roasted herbed tomatoes. Cold options included cereals and milk, yogurt, granola, fabulous baked goods including buttery flaky croissants and other puffed pastries, muffins, rolls and very tasty oat & dried fruit treats. They had two kinds of smoothies, juices, choice of coffees and teas. Alcoholic drinks were also available. The room was well staffed and the tables (with plenty of charging possibilities) were frequently cleared.

"good for a small local airport"
Sara Blatt (United States)
Had very low expectations, but the Austin lounge was fine. Had a nice salad and croissant sandwich. Other sandwiches were available, and they had a couple of stations with various snacks and even brownie bites. Bartender was very attentive, and staff were always busy busing the tables. I think it was very good for a small local airport. I was flying British Airways, not American Airlines, which is why I recommend the airline.
