"not putting in any effort at all"

Not Verified | It's like they pride themselves on not putting in any effort at all. We arrived 2.5 hours before our flight, but the check-in desk only opens 2 hours before your flight's departure time. The line moved extremely slowly and it took us 1h 20m to get drop off our check luggage. Each clerk takes over 5 minutes per customer, I still don't understand how each transaction can take so much time. Every 15 minutes, a clerk would shout a flight destination that was leaving soon to get those people to the front of the line. I hope you have good ears, because there's no speaker system. Just a clerk shouting. By the time we got through that process, our flight was starting to board in 10min. Following the signs as best we could, we arrived at our gate 25 minutes later - by now the flight's scheduled departure was in 15 min. Upon reaching the gate, the lineup was enormous and no one had even started boarding. They were waiting for a bus to shuttle passengers to the plane on the tarmac. It took 40 minutes before a bus even showed up, and even then they worked as slowly as possible to get passengers through. Nothing works well in this airport. The staff show no intention of making progress, they just slowly walk around and socially chat with each other while the line just keeps growing. It reflects poorly on the city. This isn't even the bare minimum, it borders on deliberate apathy.

"there are way too many flights for the size of the airport"

Not Verified | This airport sucks. It is way overcrowded and feels like there are way too many flights for the size of the airport. On the way there, they lost my bag and no one was helping. We stood in line for an hour just for the people to say they couldn’t help us and didn’t know who could. When we were leaving and reached DC, we were informed Naples airport had also 'misplaced' my friend’s dad’s bag. Again, no one tried to help and the service was so slow. Do not recommend flying in or out of this airport.

"The whole airport is filthy"

Trip Verified | Horrific experience. The weather report stated it was 31 degrees. Yet inside there there is absolutely no air conditioning. The whole airport is filthy. Bathrooms in a shambolic state. Will certainly never visit again. Many websites states that the only operating lounge in the airport, Pearl lounge has air conditioning. It definitely does not. The bus trip from the plane to the gate was also hot and stuffy.

"security moved at a snail’s pace"

Not Verified | Entered Airport around 9.45 for an 11.40 flight to Dublin. Thought this would be plenty of time to check bags, get through security, and grab a quick lunch before our flight. Boy were we mistaken. There were only 2 employees checking people in for Aer Lingus, with a line up 100 people that extended past the very long line ropes (they were expecting a long line, and got an even longer one). Even people without bags to check had to wait in the line to check in because online system was not working. Waited an hour in line and by the time we were able to check our bags flight was already boarding. Also found out that our family of 4 was separated because the airline had changed seating even though we had booked the seats in advance 4 months out. Then security moved at a snail’s pace and had a giant line, took another 20 minutes or so. Had no time to get food or use bathroom, were told to hurry up because the plane was about to close boarding in one minute. We rolled our eyes and luckily made it but can’t believe we almost missed our flight we arrived multiple hours in advance for simply due to airport mismanagement.

"the airports staffing and organisation was severely lacking"

Not Verified | The worst airport experience ever, we had a really early flight to return to the UK from a holiday in Sorrento. The flight departure was 06.20 hours. We left our hotel at 03.00 and arrived at the airport just before 04.00 - things were going too well, on arrival, there was not yet a check in desk allocated, so we had to hang around. Once booked in, the nightmare really began, the queue to get through the rest of the airport and security was horrendous, can’t think that the volume of people was unexpected, so the airports staffing and organisation was severely lacking. It was akin to kettling, the queue took forever with the irony of displays reminding you to social distance whilst they were forcing people together. The process took so long, we had to run for the flight, were last on the plane and my daughter was in tears due to a lack of chance to use a toilet. There was no chance to eat or get a drink. The stress was terrible, marred a nice holiday and has made us think twice about using an Italian airport again. It was disgusting, and clearly has put peoples health at risk. Manchester airport was fine.

"you feel like you are in prison"

Not Verified | At first, good looking airport. And then you understand no one speaks English here. They expect you to know Italian even though this is an international airport. Also, once you pass the control (passport, id) to reach your gate, you feel like you are in prison, very noisy, just one vending machine. Honestly I pity you Naples airport. Very bad. The police who control our id and passports are more likely having a holiday rather than working. We waited 20 min for one of the police boarder control to check something and she returned with a coffee. And the WC is a nightmare.

"kicked us out of the airport"

Trip Verified | They kicked us out of the airport in the middle of the night at 4 degrees. We were about 20 people with an early flight to attend. We all experienced what its like to be homeless, to try to beat the cold by covering us with plastic bags. Considering the amount of money we spent in Italy, you people really need to have something open in the night near the airport for getting more money, at least, the compassion or care looks like it’s not in your agenda.

"they kicked us out at midnight"

Not Verified | I write this at 1.45am standing outside the doors of the airport, as they kicked us out at midnight, telling us the airport is closed from 11.30 till 3.30am. It’s 3 degrees outside. There are 20 or so of us who must stand around and shiver outside the airport for 3+ hours. They have no solution. No suggestion on where we can go. Nothing is open. We have already returned our rental car. And so we sit. How can an international airport not have a place for people to wait for their early morning flights?!Reading all the other reviews of this airport, it’s clear they have no business being in business. One of the ladies out here is pregnant. Yes, they have forced a pregnant lady literally out into the cold for hours. How is this their solution? Why is there not a lounge somewhere for folks to wait inside? This cannot be the first time this has happened. But that doesn’t make it any less ridiculous.

"absolutely disgraceful"

Not Verified | What an absolutely disgraceful place this is. Arrived here with my wife to join a cruise ship. Special assistance was requested prior to the flight and checked twice to confirm. On arrival my wife had to walk with other passengers for at least 10 minutes along an uneven footpath using a rollator (walker) to reach the coach park for transfer to the ship. No one seemed interested, just waved their arms when asking for help. Eventually got to the coach park and transferred to the ship. Had a lovely cruise around the Med. Transferred back to the airport and dropped off at the terminal door. Drop-offs only. Arrived over 3 hrs before check-in time, the nightmare began again. Special assistance in airport employees eyes means if a person uses a rollator they can walk for miles! Never heard of invisible disabilities? Taken to an area where we waited for one hour with no information, fellow passengers passing and shouting looking for their departure gates. Staff shouting to each other and ignoring the special assistance passengers. Eventually taken to the departure gate where absolute chaos reigned! About 280 passengers travelling back to Gatwick on a TUI Dreamliner all waiting. We waited over 80 minutes. We were asked six times by different staff for our passports and boarding passes. Next thing the coach arrives to take passengers to the aircraft before the special assistance passengers 8 in total. Yes, the driver gets out and walks away! Eventually, after 10 minutes the special transfer vehicle arrives and takes us to the aircraft. The remaining passengers soon join and we thankfully take off over one hour late. This airport must be one of the worst in Europe, don't expect a smoothly run airport here.

Trip Verified | I read the previous reviews of Naples Airport with horror, so am glad to report that I found no problems at the airport. I was through the security screening process in about two minutes, and found plenty of places to eat, or sit while waiting. I had a very good coffee before flying out. The toilets were clean. There were no queues at passport inspection (I was able to use the e-gate). For both arrival and departure I have no complaints.
