Not Verified | Terminal 3 is I think the worst airport terminal I've been to. There is one toilet for the whole terminal so there is a queue and it is dirty. There is one Cafe which is hugely overpriced, $14for a sandwich. I also found out after security there is no information screen so you can't tell which gate the flight is leaving from if it changes, which mine did. You need to walk or each gate to read the screen. Honestly this airport was designed by an idiot that had no comprehension of what and airport needs to do. I can think of any airport I've ever been to that has worse facilities.

✅ Trip Verified | Airport a bit tired, but security staff were shocking. Everyone was queued up for half an hour, staff were walking up and down the queues yelling at everyone to remove belts and place passports in bags, and the girl we experienced loading belongings on trays was purely obnoxious. We have changed our mind about holidaying again in Australia due to this aggressive, unpleasant approach. It felt like we were in a movie about Auschwitz.

Not Verified | This Airport is more than disappointing! The staff are unfriendly, we’ve been snapped at several times! Unbelievable! It’s not well organised at all - it’s chaotic! Horrible airport- I recommend not flying via Melbourne - all the other Aussie airports were really great!

Not Verified | My family and I had the best holiday in Melbourne. Everyone we encountered during our holiday were extremely friendly and approachable until we got to the Melbourne airport to go back home. I went from “I never want to leave!” to “god get me out of here”. The facilities are below average, there aren’t enough seats to wait for your check-in counter, the food places are blah. The airport staff could definitely be nicer. I understand working at an airport is tough but it’s not that hard to at least be nice. The place definitely needs an update.

✅ Trip Verified | This afternoon my wife and I arrived at Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport Terminal 1 (domestic). We had a most enjoyable stay in Melbourne where we found storekeepers, hotels staff and hospitality industry workers to be polite, knowledgeable and respectful. It was therefore a surprise to find that the staff at this airport were none of these things. I understand that at times, working in a fast paced environment can be trying, but if you can’t handle it get out and give somebody else who can handle it do the job. The security staff at terminal 1 domestic today were abrupt and discourteous and I am being kind with that description. I can only assume that the guy with the military style haircut and paunch has been unable to obtain a job in which he has any authority and chose this one because he got a uniform. If we had been in a schoolyard I would call him a bully, and the lady doing the explosives/drug screening was equally as rude. We have travelled far and wide in the world and even at Hanoi International airport, where airport staff wear military uniform and carry weapons, we have not come across such boorish behaviour. Get your act together, you represent my country and at the moment you are an embarrassment.

Not Verified | I am totally disgusted with the customer service in the large open area of the international duty free area. No offer of assistance & service staff attempting to ignore your presence. Shame on their attitude & lack of friendly service. Hire people that are sincere & give customer service with a smile. Not a pleasant way to start a holiday.

Not Verified | This airport just cannot get it right. Expensive, dirty and small town country airport. Melbourne prides itself on so much but this airport isn"t one of its bright spots. So much has been done on access roads and the approaches now are good and the parking,through competition, has come down in price. But the Jetstar terminal? Horrendous! Dirty, no seats, ten minute walk and few facilities. We were catching a flight to Sydney but were unable to board as a storm hit just after passengers had started to disembark from the previous flight. It took over an hour and a half to get those people off and our passengers on. All for the lack of covered walkways to the plane. I could have been in a third world airport.

Not Verified | I had expected to be able to have a nice meal and some shopping. Couldn’t be more disappointed. Dark and dismal restaurants and bars. Very poor choice of shops - nothing to buy. I have travelled through this airport and managed to buy all my gifts. Can’t understand why there are so few shops, very few Australian brands, no decent souvenirs.

✅ Trip Verified | Still a lack of seating waiting for your check in counter to open. There is a change on going through security screening wherby they have installed new conveyor built automatic machine where you grab a tray that pops out underneath so you can put your bag and items like laptops, phones etc.. then it moves on its own through X-ray. It’s efficient but sadly so many passengers are not familiar and it’s ended up more inefficient than doing it by hand as before, if security started being more courteous and educating passengers on this, things would speed up a great deal when going through screening but as others have said staff here are not too friendly and really need to undergo training on being courteous and friendly to departing passengers as they to will become passengers when they fly on holiday etc.. Again forget duty free as prices are cheaper in the city. WiFi was good, fast and a stable connection. Toilets are still pretty grimy when visiting them especially night time when it’s very busy with passengers.

Not Verified | Just returned from trip involving the Middle East and India. Airport comparisons abounding during the past 3 weeks. Melbourne airport is clean and traversible, mostly. Check in no better or worse than other airports. But The 'g'day mate' Aussie friendliness has gone. We are met by surly, unhappy, impolite staff everywhere else in the terminal. Food outlets are the worst. You've lost your way guys, and its embarrassing to think thats people's first impression coming into Melbourne.
