"Horribly undetailed ticket"

Not Verified | Odessa to Tel Aviv. Horribly undetailed ticket information. I bought an economy class seat with hand baggage only. I was forced to pay for extra baggage even though I did not exceed my limit. In TLV the check-in staff told me I'm fine (no extra payment required). On my way back I brought even less weight but I was charged for the second backpack. They made me wait in the line twice, the supervisor was not polite nor informative. The online check-in part is ridiculous, I'm lucky because I bought a local sim card, without it I would not know I need to check-in online and would have pay extra money. Last time I fly with this airline company.

"Staff is so rude"

Trip Verified | Toronto to Tehran via Kiev. Staff is so rude, service and food is in a very poor quality, aircraft is terrible. This airline is so cheap that makes them think they can be so terrible. It is so common to deliver your baggage one week after your arrival. They never answer your complaints about that. They do not mention enough information about the flight terminal and gate is the tickets and I had a lot of problems finding my flight in Toronto airport.

"disrespectful behaviour"

Trip Verified | Yerevan to London via Kiev. I made a complaint to Ukraine Airlines on May 30. They were meant to answer in 3 months, but I have not received any response from them despite my follow up. My flight from Yerevan to Kyiv was delayed for 3 hours therefore I missed my connecting flight from Kyiv to London. I arrived in Kyiv at around 8:30 pm. Since there are only 2 flights from Kyiv to London and considering that the next flight was next morning, passengers were given hotel rooms and transfers. However, as that I did not hold a British passport I would need a visa to exit the airport which they refused to apply for, thus, I was forced to stay at the airport terminal for 12 long hours. I was not given a lounge, was disrespected and abandoned for 12 hours in Kyiv terminal. Ukraine airline employees were very disrespectful. Upon arriving at Ukraine, I was first told to wait for almost two hours for the new shift - who I was told would solve the issue - to start work. I sat there for 2 hours for the new lady to start work. To my surprise, she acted as if she couldn’t understand English and just asked me to follow her around for 20 minutes. They treated me like a criminal taking me up and down the floors and refusing to tell me what was happening. They forced me to recheck my bags, stamped my passport without explaining the situation and all of a sudden without any explanation they abandoned me in the terminal. When I asked how they expected me to sleep in the terminal during the night she just said ‘sorry there is nothing we can do’. They treated me as if I was a person who had illegally entered their country. I was humiliated and forced to spend 12 hours inside the terminal. I wasn’t even given a blanket. I wasn’t given a lounge. The terminal was cold, and very noisy and different announcements were constantly being made through the speakers. Ukraine International Airlines should take responsibility for their disrespectful behaviour, for their mismanagement, for abandoning me in the terminal without providing me a lounge. I was only given a dinner voucher. Although my flight was 9 in the morning, they didn’t even bother to give me a breakfast voucher.

"extremely disappointed and angry"

Trip Verified | My mom had a flight from Tehran to Toronto. The connection was through Kiev. She had no issues with her carry on luggage in Tehran, and staff were totally fine with her luggage, but in Kiev, just 20 minutes before her plane taking off, she was not allowed to go on board because her carry-on luggage was apparently not in your standard size. UIA staff asked her either to pay 120 euros (with an international credit card that does not exist in Iran) or to throw her luggage. I had a brief chance to talk to her on another passenger’s phone, and I wanted to pay for my mom with my card but no one agreed to even talk to me. My call was cut off, and after my mom arrived, she told me that she had to throw her luggage into garbage with some of her essential stuff. She talked about how abusive and rude UIA staff were. We are extremely disappointed and angry at UIA services.

"does not have any entertainment"

Trip Verified | Copenhagen to Bangkok via Kiev. In Kyiv, the flight for Bangkok was delayed almost 2 hours. In Bangkok, I had to rush to take another flight for Phuket. The plane seems like coming from the '90s. Not modern what so ever. In my seat, I had just two jack for the earphone that the provided me (two jack for carrying a stereo signal, meaning that If I wanted to use mine I had to listen only to one channel, left or right) .their earphones quality was terrible. THe seats does not have any entertainment - there were couple of screens spread in the plane. I had the screen in front of me (my seat was facing the plane wall). Although they had recent movies (like Bohemian Rhapsody) it was a very old LCD type, meaning that from my seat I was not able to see anything. Poor viewing angle. Not even a usb port to charge your phone. During the overnight flight to Bangkok, they gave use blanket. The plane itself was very cold, and there was cold air (aircon) blowing from the bottom of the plane. Food not good, not terrible. Very low quality (you can see a photo) - I got dinner and breakfast. There was plenty of water to drink inside the flight. They left bottles and glasses for self service in the center of the plane. Crew were very friendly. But please be aware of possible delays, and get yourself warm clothes during overnight flights.

"just ripping you off"

Not Verified | Vienna to Tehran via Kiev. The worst airline in the world! Allowed bags to fly from Vienna but stopped then in Kiev as they are too big. The system in this country is just ripping you off. If you want a good trip never ever ever go with Ukraine Int'l.

"A great way to save some money"

Trip Verified | A great way to save some money. When traveling for a week, I can really get by with just hand luggage. Of course everything is extra like seat assignments and extra space, but that's expected with Economy class. The staff was very friendly.The food was ok. The check in process and communications was excellent for those with a smartphone. Overall the experience was excellent. On time take off and arrival. I will use them again in the future.

"Cabin crew are friendly"

Trip Verified | Frankfurt to Kiev. Excellent flight. Departure time was a bit expected but that wasn't important. Cabin crew are friendly. Seats comfortable, but thew tray tables are not really clean. Must be disinfected before each take-off, that's really important.

"worst airline I've flown"

Trip Verified | Athens to Paris via Kiev. In Kiev airport the employee required to me paying 66 euros because my hand baggage was not allowed, that was not true, my baggage was controlled in Athens airport and it was under conditions to carry on hand. I had my camera inside and she told me that UIA won't be responsible if someone stealed my camera. Finally she forced to me for paying 80 euros or I couldn't take this plane. So, I had to pay under an employee's menace. Definitely, UIA is the worst airline I've flown and I don't recommend it to anyone. For same price you can easily flight with other companies, and you can obtain better treatment, snacks during flight and of course, any menace or intimidation by employee's side.

"Very bad attitude"

Trip Verified | Dubai to Munich via Kiev. Delayed one and half hour to fly. Very bad attitude from the cabin crew supervisor and most of the team never talk never smile when you ask simple thing can’t accommodate your request (Blanket for baby)?. Poor customer service starting from the head of the cabin crew. And when I reached my final destination the luggage were missing very disappointed!
