Korean Air

Thoroughly impressed. The customer service was first class the staff excellent and the planes were a joy to fly on. I am an American who has lived in Asia before and flown on Cathy Pacific JAL PAL ANA. I have to say I was excited to get to fly on the A380-800 twice during my most recent trip. I flew from the US Charlotte to Atlanta to Seoul then to Cebu Philippines. I flew on a 747 from Cebu to Incheon and was given an exit row seat during check-in. I am 6 ft 3 and the staff member asked if I would mind sitting in an exit row. She said there would be plenty of leg room for me. I was very pleased when I realized I was on the top deck with almost no one near me and even given a pod-like seat that reclined into a bed for the 4 hour flight! On the long flight from Atlanta to Korea which was over 14 hours the service was impeccable the stewardesses were nice and the food was good. I would highly recommend this airline. The movies and in-flight entertainment were also very good and a suitable selection with various languages. My flights were July 29 and I returned Aug. 12th. I will definitely fly Korean Air in the future!

I flew Bangkok-Incheon-Dulles return and was impressed as always. As an American who has lived in Asia for some time I have flown across the Pacific many times and I always fly Korean if possible. There are numerous entertainment options and the system is easy to use. The food and beverages are great. The only airline I have found to have better food is Asiana and that doesn't mean Korean food is unsatisfactory just that Asiana's is incredible for economy class. I have always had positive experiences with ground crew and FA. The service is pleasant attentive and prompt to meet my needs. On a previous flight that connected with an American airline the Korean ground crew went out of their way to address a mistake made by the American airline's staff. Economy seats are comfortable and more spacious than I expect for economy. Even when I have a sport coat to hang I find that I am not cramped - and I'm 6'1".

I flew from Brisbane to NYC on 15th July 2014. Flight was smooth. However the negatives: Their meals are not edible. I was served beef noodles which were overcooked and mushy I called an attendant and told her I could not eat it and she said there was no more chicken so there was nothing more to give. Drinks: They were slow to serve. Flight attendants did not co-ordinate the service to serve coffees when passengers were eating their desserts. Flight attendants speak English but are very difficult to understand. In fairness they do give you a smile which is good. Seats: Well I was in economy so I accepted that it was not as comfortable as business or first class. However it was painful when sitting. Seats need more cushioning.

LAX-ICN July 7 2014 on KE018. ICN-RGN July 8 2014 on KE471. RGN-ICN July 22 2014 on KE472. ICN-LAX July 23 2014 on KE017. Flew LAX - Incheon then Incheon - RGN. Return 2.5 weeks later. LAX - Incheon watched 3 great movies and a fun Korean drama. Most of Incheon - RGN and the return trip I slept. Staff left meal for me when I was asleep and it still tasted ok when I woke up and ate it.

LHR-ICN-LHR. I have flown this route a number of time with British Airways and it was with some reluctance I booked my most recent trip with Korean Air based on the schedule they offer on the service. Well I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the service. Less seats in the Business Sections mean the cabin feels more spacious and the seat itself was bigger and more comfortable. The service from the cabin crew was excellent very attentive and keen to ensure I was looked after. Plenty of choice on the in-flight entertainment and the food was definitely better than what I have experienced with other airlines. The only negative would be the lounges both at Heathrow and Incheon - they are not quite up to the standard in terms of food being offered.

Flight attendants welcome you with a positive energy and friendliness. They are very attentive taking care of your needs. I remember a flight attendant finding me and thanking me for taking their plane. They didn't do this with everyone. A minor detail but is much appreciated is the multimedia system. You can start watching movies as soon as you take your seat. No need to wait until plane is airborne.

The flight was quite great. Mostly a smooth ride and very reasonably priced however the food was disgusting. I am a vegetarian therefore had special requirements. I also found that once meal time was over the air staff were very absent therefore making it awkward when you wanted water or another beer. All aside I would definitely fly with Korean Air again.

Brisbane - Incheon - Toronto June 19 / Toronto - Incheon - Brisbane July 11. All flights were full with not a seat to spare. The service on all flights was excellent with pleasant helpful attendants. The service seemed immediate always -

Flew the following flights round-trip ATL-ICN-DPS. KE036 - ATL-ICN 7/10/14. KE629 - ICN-DPS 7/11/14. KE630 - DPS- ICN 7/19/14. KE035 - ICN-ATL 7/20/14. I would not recommend taking a red-eye with Korean Air. For reasons unbeknownst to me they leave the neon lights on in the cabin for the first two hours of the flight when it's obvious the majority of passengers wish to sleep. When asked about this all they could give me was some canned "the captain decides this" response. Window seats are not comfortable as well as it is difficult to sleep in them. If you're a westerner In-flight entertainment is practically non-existent. If possible I would suggest using Virgin Australia for your Transpacific flights out of the US as the comfort of their aircraft cabin management processes and in-flight entertainment are far superior to KE.

SYD to LAX July 2nd on KE 122 and KE 61 then return on July 17th on KE 18 and KE 121. On all legs staff were friendly and competent and kept snacks drinks etc. available at all times. Aircraft was kept clean inflight entertainment top class and legroom excellent for me who is 6ft 5 ins. Food was adequate but only two courses offered. Take it or leave it. My first time with Korean and satisfied.
