Just flown back from Crete! After an appalling delay in getting to the airport, we finally got to Heraklion and
straight into a long queue for check in then. We had to take our bags to a separate queue to be X-rayed, no
one told us that this would happen. Once cleared we were straight in the queue for passport control which
took nearly 40mins, we then had to queue jump else we would have missed our plane! Once on board it took
them nearly an hour and a half to get to us for the 1st drink and we were only in row 15! Not enough hot food
to go round as they "don't have the capacity" to carry it all on the outbound flight? I was in the exit seat and
was still cramped up for 3 and a half hours with no entertainment, even the flight display screen didn't work.
The 1st and last time we will ever fly Thomson! Poor information and poor service all round.

Birmingham to Heraklion (29th July 2012 - 12th August 2012). Check in at Birmingham fairly efficient, though
not impressed with the hand baggage allowance. Boeing 757-200 (the same both ways) was fairly
comfortable, not a huge amount of leg room. Staff friendly enough, flight departed 25 minutes late from
Birmingham and we arrived on time at Heraklion. Having flown to Heraklion countless times it is in desperate
need of upgrade, it is highly run down and too small to cope with the amount of passengers that walks
through their doors each year. The queue behind us was massive and we were assigned only 2 check-in
desks. I still don't understand why Thomson are unable to offer online check-in on non-scheduled flights. I
was told we would board from gate 6 by the Greek check-in assistant, the Thomson representative told us
gate 9, and I only found out we were departing from gate 11 when I looked at the departure boards as it was
boarding. Flight left Crete early and arrived early. As I said, we would've flown Thomson next year, but the
current price is £1400+ for 3 people is staggering and £550 more than this year; whereas Monarch are
offering the same flight at more convenient times for £750.

Gatwick to Izmir. Perfectly fine and no different from Economy on other airlines. In fact, if it had not been for
the Thomson Logo, I could have been on BA with the leather seats. Leg room is no different to many others
and after listening to some of the complaints on here, was pleasantly surprised. Flight only delayed 10
minutes outbound, due to thunderstorms in Europe and on time for the return. Staff were very good, worked
hard throughout. Indeed, they went out of their way, to enable people to get to and from the toilets, by
moving the cart back into the galley on several occasions.

We flew to Paphos Cyprus this August. The plane was new, clean with plenty of leg room. The "sat nav" way
of telling us what countries we were flying over, and the distance of where we had left and the distance of
where we were flying too was excellent. The screen also instructed passengers of safety precautions, using
child actors, and this made for a very relaxing but entertaining way of getting the message over and starting
the journey. Snacks were adequate and staff professional. We had no delays and luggage arrived swiftly. No
bumpy landing and smooth take off.

Recently flew Manchester to Skiathos on a B757. This aircraft had been updated with new seats without the
seat pocket in front so a minimal amount of extra room created, still could barely get legs under seat in
front, so was uncomfortable as I'm 6ft. The woman in front who was probably 5"5 put her seat back and I
could barely move! Return flight was on a first choice 757 which had older style seats and was literally
wedged in for the 3.5 hours. No inflight meals provided on short/medium haul now, just snacks which are
average and certainly don't replace a meal that I accepted paying for in the past, no entertainment also!

GLA-TFS. Arrived at airport to be told of 1.5 hour delay due to delay from morning operations. This happened
at 05.00 and by 14.00 were still not fixed so it was a manual check-in. Check-in staff tried to give us seats at
rear of aircraft even though we had pre-booked extra legroom seats at row 12. Boards changed 1 hour after
scheduled take off time to show a total delay of 3 hours. Aircraft landed and took off 3 hours 10 minutes
late. Ex First Choice 757 was showing its age, a far cry even from the old days of Thomsonfly. No IFE or pre-
bookable meals now make this a very long and boring flight. 40 minutes into the flight, the Captain made an
announcement that someone had been smoking in one of the toilets. The passenger who was smoking should
not have been allowed to board the aircraft, 3 members of cabin crew had to battle her to confiscate a bottle
of gin she had bought at duty free and was drinking from. Such a shame what Thomson flights have become.
Inflight experience has rapidly decreased since the Thomsonfly/First Choice merger. Flying this airline used to
be a pleasure, now it is becoming a chore.

Flew to Dominican Republic in June with Thomsons but on a First Choice plane. Paid £200 to upgrade to
premium. No complaints on outbound flight. Good service, food, drinks etc. Nice child's meal and vegetarian
option. 4 of us, so £800 but still worth it. Flight home awful! Daughter had the commentary water once on
board but no other drink as they had no soft drinks left! We'd just boarded when we were informed of this!
That also meant no mixers for our spirits, so no drinks for us either. 8 hours flying with only warm water to
drink. We're told this happens because they don't restock for home bound flights, It's false advertising at
best.

MAN-HOG-MAN onboard the long haul B767 aircraft. Flights on time, Premium seating comfortable and food
the best I have experienced. Constant drink rounds during both daytime and night legs of the flight, and a
call service available should you require one in between. The aircraft show a little bit of age but they have
constantly being flying back and forward to the Caribbean and USA for 6 years now and considering this they
are actually in good condition, with economy recently being refurbished.

Flew to Orlando Florida. Flight was on time there and back, seats were good with lots of leg room, food ok
but to be expected! Entertainment was fine, crew need to smile more and be more friendly. We were on an
old first choice plane and you could tell it was old.

Check in was quick and smooth, boarding was quick and uneventful and both flights were on time. Flight crew
were friendly as well as the captain who updated of our progress throughout. The planes were in excellent
condition but legroom is appalling and there is no inflight entertainment or meals. All in all, this is a good
airline in terms of reliability and staff but it offers no more than a no-frills airline such as Ryanair.

Meant to leave on flight back to Gatwick from Minorca at 19.10 yesterday, but still in Minorca. Absolutely
awful process of putting us off hour by hour - until 2.30 am (expecting to go) - by which time there were no
options. What I have also learnt is not to go to a small island - as there are no alternatives. If we had been
on the mainland Europe we would undoubtedly be home by now!

We travelled from Gatwick-Kefalonia return on 19-26 July. Having read previous reviews I was not looking
forward to our trip at all but I was pleasantly surprised. Check-in at Gatwick at 07.00 was quick and efficient
- only took 15 minutes. Flight left on time and we landed early. Cabin crew were very pleasant and efficient
but we didn't buy any food as we brought our own with us. Return flight was the same - although we did
queue for nearly an hour at Kefalonia airport. Flight left on time - crew very pleasant. On this experience I
would fly with them again.

apology. Truly awful Customer experience, will never use again.

We just returned from Punta Cana and the outbound flight was not too bad but the inbound flight was awful.
One bar service in a 9 hour flight, breakfast trays removed before we even received a coffee. One member of
our party didn't receive a breakfast at all and when ask about it, a tray was slammed in front of him without
apology. Cabin crew just weren't interested at all and just chatted amongst themselves. Drinks ran out very
early in flight. Seats are very hard, entertainment system old . I have never before had such an awful flight
with Thomson. We paid £1000 for 5 of us to sit in premium cabin and it was a total waste of money!

I travel frequently on their 737. I am usually left unimpressed with their lax organisation and customer
service skills. Recently I was on a flight were three members of my party were allocated Emergency Exit row
seats, whereas none of these passengers were eligible for these seats, a fact that Thomson were aware of
from the time of booking. I also think that the inflight meals were bad - even by airline standards, however
the selection of drinks onboard is very good. I was also disappointed about our party being split up during re-
allocation of out seats during the return journey, for reasons previously mentioned. Having said all of this I
was extremely impressed by the flight crew on our outbound journey.
