BHX-PFO-BHX : outbound okay except old and dirty First Choice 757 with awful bright green
leather seating. Return the worst flight we have experienced. Two male cabin crew were more
interested in cultivating their own friendship during the whole flight. Dropped several items
on floor when collecting meal trays but never bothered to pick them up, with contents of
cups/glasses splashing those unfortunate to have aisle seats. Our previous trip in June (same
route) was on a Thomson 757 which was a far more enjoyable experience. Fiasco over trying to
book extra legroom seats, finally told none available but they would make note of my partner's
height and "see what they could do". Only acknowledgement of this was on coach back to PFO
where seats were reserved at front because we had a "special need". Disappointing overall but
if you get the right plane and customer service get their act together then it would be an
enjoyable experience.

Bristol to Dalaman and back. I have never experienced such minimal seat pitch on any flight,
let alone on a four hour journey. The cabin crew are polite but seem intent only on selling
their inflight goods. An airline to be avoided.

Manchester to Funchal return on a B737. Flight punctual and aircraft clean, no IFE though.
This is the second flight taken this year and on both occasions there has been a lack of
customer care regarding seating. I travelled with an elderly parent with two artificial hips
and therefore restricted mobility. On the first occasion, I prepaid for specific seats at a
cost of £60 return only to discover on check in outbound that they had not been booked and
been allocated to other passengers. Thomson's answer is to claim your money back on return to
the UK. The same applied on the return sector despite Thomson s promise to re email the
details. The refund was prompt and advised to request medical seats next time. So this time I
arranged this via their call centre. Surprise - at check in not arranged and sorry the flight
is full ! Same on return. Also I find their staff discuss their private lives whilst serving
so annoying!

Belfast - Malaga return. I flew on a rather dated looking A32, legroom was poor - the only way
I could get even slightly comfortable was to have my legs at an angle so I was encroaching on
the footspace of my girlfriend or the unlucky chap beside me! I had paid for food and it was
quite good - a typical breakfast of sausage, scrambled egg etc on the way out and for lunch on
the way back, bangers and mash. Flight crew ok although it was clear they wanted to flog
earphones, drinks, duty free before feeding those of us who were starving (not having paid the
extortionate prices at Malaga airport). Paying to sit beside someone was something I hadn't
come across before, I don't think even Monarch tried this one. Although on the outbound flight
I entered the cabin to find people in the seats I'd paid to reserve, there was much faffing
about by the crew before I eventually got my seats. Flight was no better than my experience on
Monarch and miles behind the likes of BMI or British Airways. Watch your baggage limit. On the
printed confirmation it clearly stated my allowance was 25kgs. However on the tickets they
sent me out the limit was reduced to 20kgs. Luckily I was within 20kgs however I would have
been in trouble if I hadn't pretended to be stupid when the check in guy at Malaga wanted to
weigh my hand luggage too!

LGW - EFL (Kefalonia) A320 (First Choice livery). Check-in was quick, under 4 minutes,
boarding on time although pushback delayed by 15 minutes, whilst we waited for a number of
special needs passengers to be brought out to the aircraft. Arrival on schedule. Seat pitch
whilst not overly generous was adequate for the length of flight. The breakfast was fresh and
tasty and coffee hot. Cabin crew smart, cheerful and responded quickly to passenger requests.
The negative would be that the headset socket in my seat was defective meaning that I could
not watch the movie, had I paid for a headset rather than bringing my own I would not have
been happy.

Doncaster to Dalaman with Thomson - for a no frills flight it wasn't that bad, check in was a
little slow due to power failure at Doncaster and on the way back at Dalaman we had two
security checks which made the queue very long and upset a few tired travellers. Boeing 737
did have high level screens for films which was a pleasant surprise. Being 6ft 4in tall the
egroom was not great. One word of warning, duty free shopping at Dalaman airport is not cheap.

Manchester to Kefaloni. Quick and efficient check-in. Female Captain informative throughout
flight, good legroom compared to First Choice and flight crew were also pleasant and friendly.
Food served was not as good as other airlines we have flown. As I am not a frequent flyer I
have little to compare Thomsonfly with other airlines however my experience was pretty good.

I booked my premium flight to travel to Jamaica this August with Thomson Airways. Premium
seats were selected for extra room. Having been delayed at Birmingham for 4 hours with no
explanation, I was not impressed to find I boarded a First Choice Carrier that was small and
cramped! it was also overbooked so people who had booked economy seats were upgraded at no
extra cost - whilst I paid an additional £175 for so called premium service? To top it all I
was turfed out of my chosen seat because they did not have a rest seat for the co-pilot! There
was no difference in the size of seats between economy and premium. Had it been clear from the
Thomson Airways web site that I could risk travelling on a First Choice aircraft I would never
have booked with them.

Return flight to Madeira. The cabin crew working from the rear of the plane were probably the
most ill-mannered and unprofessional I have ever encountered. Their idea of humour was to
whisper loudly what a shame it was that the plane was diverting to Manchester because of poor
weather. Some passengers were taken in and kept asking if it was true, to the amusement of the
crew. Loud discussions and laughter between themselves about what they had done the previous
night and were going to do that night. One member had to apologise for the exceSsive noise
they were making, unfortunately it was not sincere in the slightest.

Just told that they are dumping Premium Economy on the London-Sanford run which we booked for
May 2010. They should not advertise a service they must have known they could not provide -
smacks of sharp practice. We are getting a full refund having spent an hour trying to get
through on their 10p per minute phone line. We thought we would give Thomson a go but will
never bother in future and have rebooked with BA.

Manchester to Las Palmas B757-200. Seat pitch acceptable for a 4hr flight and slightly wider
than expected. Meal quite reasonable for airline food. Staff chatty and friendly. IFE broke
down but they did their best to sort it out and got it running eventually. Return to
Manchester was an Ex-First choice 757 plane. Seats hideously cramped, plane was messy , staff
disinterested at best (who for most of the flight sat behind a curtain drinking fruit juice
and blocking off one of the toilets). Impressed with Thomson - disappointed with ex-First
Choice.

LGW-Tenerife South return. A generally good experience with Thomson. Both flights on B767
aircraft. Legroom good for short/medium haul charter flight. On return we occupied the middle
section of Row 17 where there is more legroom on isle seats due to only 3 seats in row in
front. Aircraft clean. IFE good, with seat back screens although I prefer to read. Check in
staff at LGW North Terminal friendly and efficient and... no queue! Cabin crew friendly and
fairly efficient although there was a bit of a mix up with meals on return flight which meant
we were waiting a long time for the meal. Initial bar service also started quite late. However
quality of in light meals quite impressive. Based on this experience would use Thomson Airways again.
