B747-400, (ATL-ICN) and B777-200ER, (ICN-KUL). Requested special meal, excellent IFE. Less legroom with B747 (what can you expect for economy class) but great cabin on B777. Overall it was good.

I never actually flew with them because the cyclone that hit their main airport led to unavoidable delays which meant I had to use another airline. I am reviewing them however because I believe the way a company deals with problems is a good indicator of the company. The people I dealt with were friendly, compassionate and helpful under tough circumstances and the company seamed to be structured to handle issues in a prompt way and with perfect English.

KE 082 from JFK to Seoul was an Airbus A380 on December 6, inflight entertainment is limited. The food portions were small for Economy class. KE 653 from Seoul to Bangkok is on 777-300, again movie selection limited. Hope they can improve their inflight service and add more movie channels to their inflight entertainment system.

Flew NRT-ICN-NRT in economy class. Korean Air was fine. I'm gold with Delta, so had access to their lounges in both NRT and ICN, and priority immigration in NRT (but not Incheon). They were on time, offered a reasonably comfortable seat with enough leg room, even for a 6' 2" person like myself, had touch IFE with enough options for a short flight, and a USB outlet for charging devices. FA were polite and attentive, and a hot meal was served on both legs. The food was OK, but nothing fancy.

We flew from London to Auckland business class and I was extremely impressed. The first leg to Seoul as in a 777 and we had flat beds that were excellent. On the second leg to Auckland we were in an older 747 and only had seats that went flat but at an angle and were much less comfortable. The food was excellent and the service from the FA's was good. A really pleasant surprise.

MEL-ICN-LHR return with family of 5. All of us are over 6 foot. Leg room was excellent, entertainment great. The staff were always willing to help. The food was a choice of Asian and western - typical airline food but the kids didn't complain. Had a stopover in ICN, whilst our bags were sent straight on to Heathrow which was great. Overall I would definitely fly with this airline again.

Good service on KE644 and KE643 from Singapore to Incheon airport return and domestic flight from Gimpo to Jeju airport. Service great, even asked for an extra drink on flight back, landing smooth. Leg room from Singapore to Incheon and to Singapore is great but the domestic flight is very cramped. Seat is very comfortable, no leg rest though on this 777-200 and 737-900.

Jakarta to Incheon. Seats in economy class as well as crew cabin service are quite satisfactory. I continued my flight from Gimpo to Jeju, on this flight there was no entertainment at all and we were not given food or snacks - only drinks given.

DFW-ICN-BKK and BKK-ICN-ATL. You get an amenity pack in economy class. Food was above average, AVOD was good, and flight attendants are excellent as they serve food, clean toilets, and meet every need without a hair out of place. Flights were on time, and changing planes at ICN is a breeze. Boarding was a bit chaotic for all flights as everyone rushed the gate as soon as first class was called. Enforced boarding by zone might help here. Otherwise, there is nothing bad to say about this airline.

ATL-ICN-ATL. Korean air always meets my expectation. This was my first round trip from ATL to ICN which is the longest route of the airline. Great service throughout the flight. Return flight delayed 30 minutes by fog in ICN, however, ground crews in ATL took care of the connecting flight really well.

Return, Chicago-Incheon-Manila on 777-300ER and 777-200. I was very satisfied with the flight experience. The planes were clean, FA's courteous and helpful, AVOD IFE was excellent (screen as big as an iPad) and there was plenty of legroom (34" pitch). The only negative things- the seat cushions were somewhat hard and became uncomfortable on a 12+hour flights, the cabin temp was on the warm side and the food was good but not as good as on Asiana. Airlines should put menus on the IFE so people can easily view them.

LGW-ICN-MEL. I booked my ticket a week before I departed, and it was a bargain price. I chose it as the reviews on here seemed to rate it highly, and I was not disappointed. Check in at Gatwick was swift with no problems. First leg was a 777-200 which had good amount of leg room, although the seats were a little hard. Second leg was on an A330-200 which had pretty bad leg room. New style seats but I still found them hard. I had to swap to an exit seat as it's no good for people over 6'4". Staff were the most helpful and polite I have come across, and I've flown on a lot of top end airlines. Good food and entertainment, lots of drinks too. Can't fault it for the price! I would definitely fly them again.

Flew from Seattle through Seoul to Mumbai and returned through Seoul to Vancouver. All flights left on time, staff were amazing, seats were wide and legroom great, the entertainment system was superb. All in all the best airline experience I have had.

A380, LAX-ICN. Fantastic aircraft, roomy, and very comfortable. Seats were great, excellent attendants and service, ICN-Beijing B777, aircraft showed its age, but once again service was great, Shanghai-ICN A330; ICN-LAX B744, both spacious, comfortable and excellent service.

Brisbane-Seoul-New York-Seoul-Brisbane. Very satisfied with all flights especially A380 NY-Seoul. Found the lie flat seats ok and managed to get some sleep on all legs. Cabin staff were very nice. Food nothing special but satisfactory. Wouldn't hesitate to fly with Korean again.

Toronto-Seoul-Toronto. Service amazing but business class seats are not comfortable. Another issue is you have no space where to put IPad, computer, cleaning utilities, book like you do at Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. Korean Airlines Lounge was packed. I had to pay to go into the prestige lounge. I think passengers with a business class ticket should have priority, or they should have more than one lounge like Cathay, Japan and Singapore Airlines. I will avoid to flight through Seoul in the future.

London - Seoul on 777. Check in, very friendly staff at the counter. Skyteam lounge in T4 is convenient and airy but the showers were not available as there was no one manning it. On board, very courteous cabin crew. They should really change their menu as the food seems to be always the same - Korean bibimbap or beef. The seat turns into a flat bed but it is quite narrow, lacks privacy from your neighbor as well as having very little storage space. Lounge in Seoul was big, shower facilities were basic and feels like a cheap hotel. Seoul - Osaka short flight with good meal, seats the same as long haul flights. Again, very courteous cabin crew. One thing about Korean Air is that duty free seems to be a big deal for them, they kept on walking around with the catalogue or pushing the trolley around!

I flew in from Mongolia so cannot comment on Seoul Incheon check-in etc, but airside is one huge shopping mall. I found signage to be poor but the Korean Air Business Lounge was large, comfy and had a good selection of drinks and nibbles. Seoul to London - the cabin (B747 Upper deck) is just about to become tatty. It needs some attention, was comfy but not startling. This was the older clam shell seats and not fully reclining which was a real shame. Food and service was excellent. Nothing exceptional, nothing terribly wrong. There are better options but this was absolutely okay.

Prestige class from Seoul-New York return. They had some of the worst business class seats I have ever sat in. The airline calls the seats "lie-flat" and should not be allowed to. When fully reclined into a bed, the seats pitch downward at a noticeable angle, causing you to slide right down them. I got no sleep on a long haul flight because of them. Will never fly this airline again for business class.

Flew Melbourne-Seoul-Vancouver-San Francisco-Seoul-Melbourne. Aircraft clean and comfortable, toilets clean. Flew Prestige Class and the service was friendly, efficient and food lovely. Purser welcomed you aboard and thanked you for flying at arrival to destination. Overnight in Seoul on return journey due to 24 hour layover at the Hyatt Regency. Have now flown them twice on long haul trips and would not hesitate to fly them again, fares very competitive and no problems with check-in at any of the airports, flights, meals, luggage, seats etc. Fresh baked cookies for snacks. If I had any quibble, it would be with their minute wine glasses. No problems getting them refilled but would appreciate a larger glass to start with and it wouldn't be quite so embarrassing having to ask for said refill.

HKG-ICN-GUM. Quite possibly the best airline I have ever flown with. On both legs I was impressed, aircraft's were modern and clean (A330, and B777), more than the average number of FA's. FA's were professional, friendly and helpful, inflight entertainment available as soon as you sit down, FA's speak excellent English, much more leg room for an economy seat than you would get with another airline, in flight entertainment available behind each seat with many, many options. Wasn't crazy about the food, but did like the Haagen Daz ice cream for dessert. Don't ever really expect much of airline food anyway though. One of the few airlines I would go out of my way to fly with again.
