JFK-ICN-MNL. JFK-ICN a new 777-300ER with new economy class seats similar to SQ and EK. Seat
pitch was good, upgraded AVOD had plenty of movies and music selections. Flight attendants
very attentive and smiling. Only complaint is the food. ICN-MNL on an old A330 with no AVOD
and older seats, but good seat pitch - then again, the flight was under 4 hours. ICN-JFK on a
747-400. Pretty much the same service (bad food, good AVOD, nice FA's) Overall, I was
satisfied. The food could have been better though, but that's just me.

SZX-ICN in economy, A330-300. Check-in hall was orderly. No AVOD in cabin, but tolerable for a
flight lasting three hours (compared to other KE routes that A330 fly to). Inflight meal was
palatable. Flight Attendants professional, but not very attentive. KE is a good airline, but
it seems KE is incomparable with their OZ counterpart. You really need to avoid the old A333s
if you are planning to fly Korean Air long-haul.

I recently flew Korean Air Flight KE 071 from Seoul to Vancouver. This flight was flawed from
the beginning. When I boarded this flight in Seoul, I noticed we were using a B777-200 Economy
Class seats. This aircraft is inadequate to go any distances over nine hours or more. The
seats are terrible. also no AVOD service.

Tokyo - Seoul - Ulaanbaatar return in Prestige Class. A poor prelude in the badly tended KAL
lounge in Narita, but a pleasant travel experience. I feel however that KAL could make a much
better effort with their Business Class product. The seats were fine for 2-4 hrs flights, but
a more contemporary entertainment system with films on demand, as it is standard with other
carriers in the region would be a good idea. There seem to be whole sections on the inflight
menu that are not part of the performed service. Despite a list of aperitifs, there was no
aperitif service on any of my flights - when once I insisted on having a Kir before my meal,
as it was offered among the choices in the printed menu, I met great bewilderment and was at
first served a creme de cassis on its own without wine. On a breakfast service, I did not get
offered any bread, butter or jam, the explanation was, that I had had a Korean hot course -
quite frankly, I could not see any connection. On another flight, my entree salad was skipped,
reason being I learnt, that I was going to have a Chinese noodle dish as a main, again
couldn't quite see why. All in all, the quality of meal service is very temperamental.
Generally, the startling impression for a Business Class inflight service was that Korean Air
tried to save - no amenity kits, small meal portions, drinks in one round only - or none in
some cases, had to ask for things rather than being offered. Inflight staff were helpful and
present throughout the flights. In their politeness, the staff can however seem somewhat
distant and impersonal - at least to a Westerner like me. Two major let-downs during my trips:
repeated utter rudeness of the staff at the Korean Air lounge at Narita airport and the
mediocre quality of inflight meals. Korean Air's standards are definitely far behind those of
Asiana Airlines which was my intercontinental choice, and most regional airlines.

Korean Air advertises a modern "Excellence in Flight" product, but their Business Class
product does not cater well to Western clientele. Food service on 7 hours Seoul/ Bali sectors
consistent of exclusively Korean entrees. Wines were good but offered only with the 3rd
course and served in tiny glasses. Seats and other amenities on the A330 are worn and
outdated. Flight attendants friendly and professional although not as personable as on
Western or top tier Asian carriers.

Korean Air business class in the A330-300 is the absolute pits. The pitch is lousy and tall
people cannot stretch out. The seats are not the wider international-style seats. The
aircraft is suitable for Incheon to Busan flights, which last a half an hour, but not Incheon
to Melbourne, which is an overnight flight lasting nearly 11 hours. It is a disgrace that
Korean has the gall to charge a business class fare for this pathetic service. It is premium
economy quality at business class prices. The flight attendants, while professional, were robotic.

It seems Korean Air just keeps getting worse. Brisbane - Incheon again in Prestige (business
class), with a First Class seat on the inbound flight. What I can't understand is that on a
flight which is 9 hours and 30 minutes, there is no personal TV monitors, no in-seat power,
and very little recline in these uncomfortable seats. The configuration of these A330-300s
suits a 2 - 3 hour inter-Asia flight, but not a flight of this duration. The in-flight service
is ok, but it is greatly let down by such an inferior product. Discussions with KE customer
service on when upgrades can be expected on the A330 prove useless - they simply want to talk
about their B777 which is not much comfort for passengers paying well over $4000 for an A330 flight!

BNE-ICN-GMP-CJU return in Prestige Class. Sorry to say but after being a loyal supporter of
KE over the past years I will no longer pay for their inferior business class product. The old
style business class seats on the A333 are simply not suitable for the long flights from BNE
to ICN and return. To make things worse. the A333 operating the day flight KE 124 did not even
have personal TV's in each seat but there were only 3 monitors in the front of the cabin
showing some sort of TV program. Would accept such cabin layout for a short trip no longer
than 2 hours at maximum but we are talking about 10 hours long flights in each direction. No
amenity kits provided except slippers already in seat pocket. Like the Bibimbap served but
would also like to have a choice of a decent western meal. On the return flight western meal
was not available as the other 3 western passengers in Prestige Class had opted for the
western meal so I had no choice but to go for the Bibimbap again. Transfer from ICN to GMP not
included in air fare which is odd considering the fairly high business class fare we paid. The
price difference between KE's Prestige Class and other superior airlines business class has
decreased drastically so I am more than happy to pay about A$ 600.00 more and get a full flat
bed on SQ flying BNE-SIN-FRA. Still rate trip a 5 due to the excellent staff in the air and on the ground.

I recently flew Korean Air Flight KE 001 from Seoul to Los Angeles via Tokyo. This flight was
flawed from the beginning. When I boarded this flight in Seoul, I noticed we were using a
B777-200 instead of a B747 with the proper Business Class seats. This aircraft is inadequate
to go any distances over two hours or more. The seats are terrible. They do not lie flat,
and it is impossible to sleep on these seats. When we arrived in Tokyo, I asked if this was
the same plane we were going to Los Angeles in. When they told me it was, I requested to pay
for an upgrade to First Class. I was told several times by Korean Air personnel in Tokyo that
I could not be upgraded to First Class because it was "Too Late to Order a First Class Meal".
I told them I didn't give a damn about the meal, and I simply wanted the better seat so I
could get some sleep. They refused to let me pay to upgrade. So, once again, I had to sit in
that terrible seat for nearly 10 hours. The audio system failed, the video system failed, the
overhead lights failed, and the attendant call button failed. In fact, the entire console in
every seat in business class would not function. I moved 4 or 5 times to a different seat,
but they were all malfunctioning. The flight attendants would try to reset the equipment, but
it would simply fail after an hour or so. They tried their best, but it is unfair for them to
have to try and provide Business Class Service in an aircraft that is inferior And unable to
provide a proper business class I even asked the flight attendants if they could have moved
us to First Class, and they said no it is against Korean Air Policy. Well, that's pretty
silly when there was only one man sitting in First Class and only 6 people in the horrible
Business Class area of that plane. I even tried to lie on the floor to get some sleep, and
they told me I couldn't do that. For 10 minutes, I think I actually had some peace and rest
lying there, but they stopped that for me as well. I fly all over the world, and I spend
nearly every week of my life flying somewhere, either in the USA or overseas. This was one of
the absolute, worst experiences on any flight anywhere that I have ever had. For the amount
of money I spent on this ticket, I should have received BUSINESS CLASS service. I did not,
and for that, I will think very, very carefully before I fly with Korean Air ever again. This
was certainly not "Excellence in Flight".

SYD-ICN in economy A330-300. I had expected better from this airline. As elite plus member,
access to the Sydney lounge (Air New Zealand lounge is fantastic). Asked for exit row seat
which they gave - however no upgrade although business class was almost empty. You would
expect that for Skyteam elite plus members they go the extra mile but no way. Food onboard was
mediocre and no individual IFE! In the event of a 11s hrs flight, this makes it a really
lengthy and boring flight. Flight attendants were OK. Ugly uniforms though.
