EZE-AKLD : a 14 hour flight. Travelled economy class, plane in good nick
(appeared quite new), plenty of leg room, cabin crew friendly and very
helpful. No hesitation in recommending Aerolineas or travelling with
them again on this sector.

BA (Aeroparque) - Patagonia (Trelew) and BA - Mendoza, both in June06,
both Business Class. Older MD80s with Austral livery with large Business
Class seats - 8 Business Class seats in both - felt very spacious.
Spotless cabin and service was attentive and quick - sandwich combo each
time - nothing special, but edible. No real issues, was surprised I
expected a lot of delays - but really a pleasant surprise. Not as
expensive as I thought either

Bariloche - Buenos Aires (Aeroparque) Economy Class. Bought an eticket 2
days in advance for the same price as I had checked a week before. Quick
check in at Bariloche, quick boarding and an on time departure. Aircraft
was an old Boeing 737-200 series with old style square looking seats but
certainly more legroom than I had imagined. The cabin interior was
spotless. I was surprised to be offered a sandwich, biscuits and drinks
on this 2 hour flight. Would fly AR domestic in Argentina again (as if
there was much of a choice anyway).

Madrid - Buenos Aires (747-400). Poor inflight service. After meals had
been served stewardesses retired. No further drinks served until
breakfast. Movies were informed to be shown, but were not displayed (no
individual screens). Once departure time was reached, doors were closed
and the plane parked for almost one hour before departure - no deck
information. At least landing was punctual. Buenos Aires - Madrid
(economy) flight 1130 in 747-400. Flight delay of 9 hours due to pilot
and technical staff strike. At no point in time Aerolineas ground staff
was in control of the situation of the overpacked airport. They were
also unable to manage the number of flights and handled finally one
flight every hour. Result: four flight scheduled for this evening to
Madrid got mixed up in luggage with a respective desaster upon arrival
(luggage of four 747 was dispatched on just two belts). After arrival
connection flights were not organised and only own initiative enabled us
to catch a flight to Frankfurt at last second. The fully booked flight
was serviced by just nine inflight attendents. Very slow, but at least
this time movies were displayed.

JFK-EZE Airbus 340. Excellent service. Friendly staff, clean aircraft.
Comfortable seats in Economy. Food very good and excellent wine.
Compared to airlines in the US I choose Aerolineas hands down to go to
Buenos Aires. Keep in mind that when you travel using a US airline,
they charge you for wine and also charge you for headphones. Aerolineas
still treat those who travel Economy with friendliness, respect and
professionalism.

Ushuaia - to Buenos Aires on MD87 -Flying with Aerolineas Argentinas
during the wildcat strikes of the pilots. Looking at the news the night
before, it looked like I would not be flying for weeks, as the only
airline serving Ushuaia was Aerolineas and Austral. Rang central
reservations to confirm that the flight would be delayed, but looked
like it was operating. Turned up to airport as I wanted to make sure I
would get out. There were people everywhere and the staff were getting a
battering as normal. We did not believe we would be going anywhere, then
a announcement came that the flight was in the air and would be landing,
magic word was code–share, this flight was operated by Austral. Check in
was then quick and efficient with the ground staff (even with no
computers after the system went down!). Got our seats and up to boarding
gate after paying the airport taxes. Boarding was swift and efficient,
the flight crew welcomed us aboard and apologised for the delay. We were
not too bothered about the delay as we were the only flight out that
day! Seating was comfortable in the MD 87, there was a quick stopover at
Rio Grande on the way, and then on to Buenos Aires. Meal was served soon
after the flight from Rio Grande with a full bar service, with the cabin
attendants making 2-3 passes with drinks. Flight landed smoothly in
Buenos Aires, bags arrived within a few minutes into a very quiet
airport, except for protest stands for the pilots who then blocked the
airport the next day! Overall except for the disruption, Aerolineas are
a good airline and have good in-flight service. We were relieved to get
on a flight at all, lucky for us it was operated by Austral. Once the
problems get resolved, it will be a good airline again.

EZE to GIG Business Class. No waiting for check-in in Buenos Aires, no
line in passport control, arrival in Rio de Janeiro on time. Catering
was good. Drinks served prior to take-off and canapes. Hot lunch with 2
choices of main course. Business class full (8 seats) and I was the last
to be served so no choice but I got what I wanted. During the flight
music was played - some find it annoying but I quite liked it. I would
recommend AR Business Class based on this experience.

SYD to EZE with no drama except that they don't have any real milk. The
dramas started 2 days later when our flight to Colombia with them was
cancelled. We had wasted all day at the airport, with luggage booked
through for a flight that didn't happen. We were shunted back to Buenos
Aires in coaches and put in various hotels (at the airline expense). The
flight did take place the following day, but with a lot of disgruntled
passengers onboard. The same thing happened one month later, in early
January 2006, when my son flew to Colombia. Overbooking seems to be the
problem. Will not fly with them again. The staff at the Airport in
Ezeiza don't seem to care at all. They gave no announcements about the
cancellations. We only found out from other passengers passing the
information on.

Just arrived back from Argentina flying Aerolineas Argentinas in cattle
class. Cramped, congested, overheated cabin, low standard of food and
service and 12 hours of darkness - who sleeps for 12 hours anyway ? All
our luggage left at Buenos Aires and, when it arrived a couple of days
later at our home, was damaged and contents wet! This airline's domestic
flights were slightly better except for the lack of ability to
confirm/book flights in reasonable time. Those who have offered good
comments about their experiences must have been with another carrier or
did we just travel on the wrong days ? We will have to think long and
hard before we fly with this carrier again.

LGW-EZE, and various flights in country. Bumped off business class on
LGW-MAD leg! MAD-EZE : service from flight attendants couldn't be
faulted. We were welcomed to Argentina with a handshake as we landed.
Food on way out was excellent - presented on china with a flower on the
tray. Wines were excellent. FA encouraged us to try different wines from
Argentina to accompany our meal - all excellent. Slept at least 7 hours
on the way out and was woken by a good breakfast. Internal flights were
good even - won a raffle for a free meal in Iguazu!! Service and seating
on both legs were good. I know that BA/IB have newer seats but
Aerolineas Argentinas service and welcome was excellent.

Can't believe anyone has a good comment about this incompetent, poorly
organised and disfunctional airline, based on our recent experiences
with them travelling to/from Sydney to South America and within South
America. Service on flights was minimal, particularly on long hauls
to/from Australia. In economy going to Buenos Aires, flight attendants
"had better things to do" than serve customers such as chat, ignore sick
passengers (my wife) - you help yourself and ask for water. On the
delayed flight from Lima we got offered just one small glass of water
the 2 hours we were stuck and no info during the delay. On every flight
they couldn't even board passengers in timely or orderly manner,
boarding started at time plane was due to depart and it was one call,
instead of infirm, small kids, back of plane etc (TACA Peru could manage
this as can all other airlines I have flown with). Never going near
them again.

During a recent holiday to Argentina flew several legs with Aerolineas
Argentinas. MAD-EZE-MAD legs were in business class on a B747-400 -
good value fares and considerably cheaper than BA/Iberia. Seats
comfortable, meal and wine fine. Their IFE does however let them down -
just a choice of two films. On the return flight they even screened a
film on the large screen - why ? Constant flickering made it difficult
to sleep. Aerolineas did wonders and held two flights for us due
incompetence of Air Plus Comet. At EZE their rep rushed us through the
diplomatic channel for immigration so we could make or internal flight.
Our luggage even made those two very tight connections. Internal flights
EZE-Ushuaia, Ushuaia -Trelew and Trelew - Buenos Aires in economy and
fine. Seat pitch not too close, aircraft very clean. Aerolineas
Argentinas reputation in Europe tarnished by awful Air Plus Comet who,
it seems, - especially after reading other comments, will do anything to
avoid providing a service ! I would certainly use Aerolineas Argentinas
again - but NOT Air Plus Comet !

LGW-SCL (via MAD and EZE), returning EZE-LGW. There was a special offer
business class fare for £1300, half the cost of BA or Iberia, so we
thought we'd use this. We used the Aviance lounge in LGW, but this is
very basic compared to those provided by BA or other carriers, and not
much more comfortable than the standard seating area. Outward LGW-MAD on
an MD80 operated by Air Plus Comet: comfortable 2+2 configuration in
business class; basic snack provided; service OK but not exceptional.
MAD-EZE on a fairly old 747-400: here, the seat was wide and very
comfortable, reclining almost flat, and the food and wine was good. IFE
relatively poor - choice of 4 films on the PTV. Service not very
friendly compared to C class on BA, but better than Iberia; staff
appeared not to speak much English, which is OK for me (I speak Spanish)
but would be a problem for others. AR has no 1st class so business class
uses the very front of the 747, plus the upper deck. Unfortunately
persistent turbulence during the night meant I didn't get much sleep,
although I guess this was not AR's fault. After arrival in EZE and a
while in the (rather better) lounge there, on to an antique 737-200 for
the final leg to SCL; seats (2+2) were more comfortable than newer
aircraft, but it did look very worn. Breakfast was OK apart from the hot
dish, waffle with dulce de leche, which was horrible.
Return EZE-MAD very similar to outward journey. On arrival at MAD things
started to go wrong: the airport was in complete chaos, with a 30+
minute wait at security for transfer pax. AR uses the (quite decent)
AENA lounge but this isn't advertised and AR ground staff didn't know,
so we we had to go around the airport asking. Flight MAD-LGW delayed by
an hour due to a lost passenger. We heard the staff debating whether to
travel with their luggage (unaccompanied), which was rather alarming,
but finally they offloaded it. There were not enough business class
seats for the booked pax, so some got involuntarily downgraded - if this
had been me I would have been furious. Newspapers were in Spanish only
but all business class pax were English. On takeoff staff announced that
the "the service will be cancelled due to bad weather" - which meant no
food or drink for a (nearly) 2 hour flight, for most of which the
weather was fine. All in all an OK experience given the price but rather
spoiled by the final MAD-LGW leg. Also, AR really need to get some newer
aircraft.

In regards to Adrian Pelletier's review below, I am sorry to inform him
that the EU-mandated compensation he will claim is not available if his
flight was heavily delayed or even canceled due to technical reasons.
In short, you may only request compensation if the flight was delayed or
canceled due to "commercial reasons" - whatever that means. The new EU
law is not often in passengers' favour, despite what many misinformed
medias have said.

Barcelona to Buenos Aires. Finally a nonstop flight between this two
cities, no more waiting at Madrid. The aircraft was an Airbus 340, clean
and very spacious with good legroom, I was flying on Economy Class. I
was surprised that there was no Personal TV, but the selection of music
chanels and movie compensate it. Also the magazine is excellent. The
crew was cheerful, helpful and attentive. They show care and respect for
the passenger. Next time I'll choose Aerolineas Argentinas for
convenience and good service.

Just returned from a return trip LGW-MAD with AR. I almost always use
Star Alliance carriers though had to make a last-minute trip and AR was
the best for price on this occasion. There was an hour delay on the
outbound and almost three hours on the inbound. The latter was due to a
change of aircraft for technical reasons. A refreshment was offered to
passengers. I will be writing to AR to request my EU-mandated
compensation. Despite the delays, I would consider using this service
again if the price were right. For the same price as Easyjet you are
offered a light meal on both legs. The (mainly) Argentine crew on the
outbound were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the Spanish crew on
the inbound were likewise. It was also a pleasure to have announcements
given in both Spanish and English. Seat pitch was fairly tight but fine
for 2 hours.

Buenos Aires-Lima-Mexico. Economy Class. Rear of the plane. The plane
was an Airbus 310 - good legroom and comfortable. FA's were friendly,
attentive and polite. The food was average, nothing different from other
airlines. The wines are just excellent. I must say that I was a little
apprehensive of flying with Aerolineas Argentinas, but this flight was a
nice surprise for me.

CDG-MAD-EZE. Paris Madrid on time flight,OK food, FA polite but not very friendly. The cabin interior a little
old, airplane MD88. Madrid-Buenos Aires Economy Class, Boeing 747-400 : good legroom, food was average
and wines are top quality. The only bad thing was no personal IFE. But the magazine is excellent both in Spanish and english and
the crew members are helpful, friendly and attentive. All in all, a very pleasant experience with Aerolineas Argentinas.

Just came back from a trip on AR from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque) to Mendoza and was
impressed with the service. This flight is a short 1.35 minutes and they provided a
snack that was very tasty and offered free wine too. The service was very good and
professional. Flight attendants were always making sure everyone had everything they
needed. Overall, it was an impressive flight.

Flew Mendoza-Aeroparque and Aeroparque Trelew. First leg in a Boeing 737, second
in a MD83. The planes were a bit old bit well kept and clean, the staff was
attentive and efficient. Food nothing special but I've had worse. I'd happily fly
this airline again.

Buenos Aires Aeroparque to Iguacu in Economy. The town airport in Buenos Aires
is very close to the city center and provides very easy access. Queueing at the airport for
check-in was pretty bad with the queue to the Aerolineas Argentinas counters nearly reaching all
the way to the exit! The flight itself was not bad at all, I was surprised that we even got
sandwiches to eat on a relatively short domestic flight. Having said that, the sandwich was
definitely nothing to write home about! Aircraft was a B737-200 which looked very well kept,
although the cabin interior certainly gave its age away! Cabin crew were not exactly what I
would call friendly, they simply didn't say anything at all! All in all, the flight was okay for
what it was but I don't think Aerolineas would be my first choice for a longhaul flight!

12 May 2005
LGW-MAD-EZE "direct" (with change of planes) flight, economy. Air-Plus to Madrid, flight, aircraft,
snack lunch and FAs pleasant, not too long a wait in MAD. MAD-EZE leg OK; aircraft (Boeing 747)
clean, though I knew to bring a few books rather than rely on IFE (screens in aisles).
FAs polite and friendly contrary to previous reports, though I did not see them making any cabin
checks during the night. Though the dinner was pretty awful, chicken in sauce that tasted as if it
had come in a tin from a low cost supermarket, and a rice and red cabbage salad.
Return legs similar, food better, beef good albeit a bit gristly, but wine drinkers near me were all
offered an extra bottle. Delay at MAD of 3 hours due to "airport congestion" cost me my LGW
connection home, but I doubt this was their fault.
Having flown Iberia, BA, and Swiss from London to Buenos Aires, I would rate this on a par with
Iberia, but lacking the polish of Swiss and BA.

Further to my previous comments on AR,they are now vastly improved since my last flights with them,
recently completed 8 flights with them. Allocated seat numbers, strictly adhered
to. All flights on
time Except EZE /MAD, aircraft had doors closed ready to push back, when someone decided that all
hold baggage should be x-rayed, 1 1/2 hrs later we left, MAD/LGW flight held for us. FA's were human
on most flights, but the beef steak on the EZE/MAD had escaped from the shoe leather factory, from
what I saw everybody left it. All aircraft clean inside and out. EZE/MAD flight was an air Comet +
742, now a bit old and no seat back screens.

We flew several domestic flights Economy Class with Austral / Aerolineas Argentinas in March. Most
flights were between 60 and 90 minutes. Snacks one these flights were quite uninspired, ham & cheese
sandwiches and more of the same ham & cheese sandwiches... Only on the longer Trelew-Ushuaia flight
we had a more inspired and tasteful dinner. On all flights Aerolinas Argentinas were generous with
drinks including very good Argentine red wine (Malbec Cabernet blend). All flights were as good as
full but flight attendants were very friendly and helpful. On the flight Calafate-Trelew was a big
group of French tourists, to our surprise announcements were not only in Spanish and English but in
a kind of French as well resulting a roar with pleasure of the French passengers. Combined with the
clean and fresh cabin interiors of the MD-83’s and 737’s we flew with and with all flights being on
time we really enjoyed flying Aerolinas Argentinas.

My wife and flew last week with Aerolineas Argentinas from MAD to EZE and back in an old 747.
Unfortunately, we were both left feeling annoyed. The flight was full on both outbound and inbound
legs. Despite turning up early at the airport, check in staff couldn't give us two seats together
where one would be an isle. Needless to say, in true cattle class form, the 12:25 hours flew by sat
in the middle seats of the aircraft. Additionally, a couple of hours of reading might of helped to
take one's mind of the discomfort, only had the reading light functioned. Return leg wasn't that
much better, although we did manage to get assigned seats that were at the end of the wing, with
plenty of engine noise to stop one from sleeping. The seat wouldn't recline and the headphone socket
was dysfunctional. The staff failed to even put even a forced smile forward when the curtains to
their quarters were drawn. Despite ordering vegetarian meals for my wife on both legs, they
couldn't locate the order, but in the favour eventually found it 20 mins after everyone else had
been served. The pilots did not at anytime introduce themselves over the tannoy system, or inform us
of our flight time and arrival.

Ushuaia-Trelew, 19th February 2005. The aircraft was unable to land in Trelew
because of bad weather. Instead, it continued on to Buenos Aires, its final destination.
The cabin crew were extremely courteous and efficient, informing us all individually (28 passengers
in total) what arrangements had been made for us.
On arrival at Aeroparque, AR representatives were on hand in the baggage hall to give us tickets for
the first available flight back to Trelew the next day and a bus took us without delay to a hotel
for the night. Breakfast and lunch were provided. The bus then returned in the afternoon to take us
back to the airport.
The way in which Aerolineas Argentinas handled this problem went a long way to compensate for our
disappointment in not being able to visit the Valdés Peninsula.
The other passengers to whom we spoke were also very impressed with the customer service of
Aerolineas Argentinas and I can only assume that the Trelew - Buenos Aires passengers were treated
in a similar way.
During our holiday in Argentina, we were also impressed by the cleanliness and smart appearance of
the aircraft, the courtesy of the cabin crew and the punctuality of the flights (we made 10 AR
flights in total).

I caught a return Rome-BA flight in January 2005. An airbus in both cases, and both flights with
every seat filled. The attendants were relaxed and very helpful, and the grub was good, with plenty
of additional water and soft drinks (or wine, beer) to hydrate. Reasonable leg room, and one of the
softest landings I've ever had. But why oh why put on a film which can only be of marginal interest
even to a US national (about baseball)?! I'd certainly fly with AA again.

7 February 2005
Aerolineas Argentinas LGW-MAD-EZE-SCL return in business class . Two days before departure
Travelocity's intinerary showed a major change to the schedule of the EZE-MAD flight, meaning that
we'd miss the connection with MAD-LGW. Neither Travelocity nor Aerolineas Argentinas had informed us
of the schedule change. Two hours of phone calls the day before departure finally got confirmation
of rebooking on a later EZE-MAD-CDG flight and a BMI flight for CDG-LHR.
Outbound, the LGW-MAD flight was a 737-200, seats the same pitch as economy, adequate snack. MAD-EZE
was the usual 747-400 from a dated fleet with very limited inflight entertainment. The electrics on
our seats and overhead lights were inoperative, so we were moved up to the upper deck. The seats had
about 60% incline and we actually got some sleep. Food was a mixed bad: the cold food either side of
the 'main' course was actually quite good, but the hot course was atrocious. Staff were fairly
unfriendly to non-Spanish speakers. EZE-SCL was a MD-88 with a small business section with better
seats and again OK food.
The inbound flight was were the problems really occurred. We checked with the airline in Buenos
Aires the day before returning that the schedule was as it was before we left the UK. Confusion
reigned as our reallocated seats came up as 'no show'. Eventually we had confirmation of the EZE-MAD
seats although the BMI flight remained vague. At check-in at SCL, confusion continued; this time,
the seats came up as blocked. After 45 minutes of standing at check-in, we were informed that the
seats had been 'unblocked'; we were also assured that the BMI flight was confirmed and that we'd be
able to collect new tickets/boarding pass at CDG. While all this was going on, our luggage was
whisked away on the conveyor belt but check-in staff forgot to put luggage receipts on our tickets.
The SCL-EZE and EZE-MAD flights were much the same as outbound but food was slightly better. The
seats worked this time. Staff showed stress at coping with feeding/watering 22 people on the lower
deck. Stopover in EZE was for 8 hours and we passed the time with limited food but plentiful fluids
in the business class lounge. Oh, and we also checked with the airline's agent at EZE that all was
still OK with the BMI flight from CDG.
MAD came and went and we arrived at CDG. This time, no Aerolineas Argentinas agent and no record
according to BMI that we were booked on the CDG-LHR flight. And luggage lost. Air France finally
came to our rescue and put us on the last flight of the day back to LHR.
And how do we feel? Well, absolutely furious with Aerolineas Argentinas's incompetence. We were
unnecessarily stressed before departure and incredibly stressed on our return, which undid most of
the positives of the holiday. Needless to say, we're asking for generous compensation.

Aerolineas Argentinas LGW-MAD-EZE return in economy. It's advertised as a direct flight with
one stop but in fact you have to change in Madrid. The LGW-MAD leg is operated by Air Plus, a
Spanish charter airline, and was rather uncomfortable - although they do still provide a meal. MAD-
EZE, on a 747-400, was much better. Legroom was far more generous than other airlines I've used, and
so I slept for 6-7 hours in both directions. Check-in was very easy and quick. On the downside, food
was horrible, the staff were invisible and there were no seatback TVs. On balance I would use
Aerolineas next time, particularly as the alternative is BA (better service but terrible legroom) or
Iberia (awful in every respect). Also did 4 domestic flights - all on-time and reasonably comfortable, but aircraft had seen better
days.

We flew from Sydney to Auckland then on to BA. The flight to Auckland
was OK however during the long flight from Auckland to BA not one flight
attendant offered water or juice to passengers except at meal times.
The crew disappeared up to business class and at one stage there was no
crew member in economy. The same happened on our return leg from BA to
Auckland. On our flight to Lima the same again! On our return flight
from Lima the crew watched as luggage fell out of the overheads on to my
arm and did nothing to assist me. The MD aircraft was so cramped and
uncomfortable. Aerolineas have a well-deserved bad reputation! Their
service is deplorable!

Buenos Aires to Caracas with Aerolineas Argentinas. I have flown this route several times but last
week I found out they changed the aircraft from md88 to an airbus 310 , and they also changed the
stops, before they used to stop in Santa Cruz Bolivia but now is a non stop flight to Caracas and
Caracas Buenos Aires via Bogotá. The service was very good indeed, great looking and caring flight
attendants, the food was very healthy as usually and both flights were on time. Aerolineas
Argentinas is definitively one of the best in South America.

I flew several times on AR. Once, on a flight from Miami to Cancun, the plane (a 28 year-old 747) was
awful. The space between seats was minimum, and the food was disgusting. Luckily this flight lasted
just an hour and forty minutes. Seven days after that "nightmare", I returned to Buenos Aires. The
flight had a delay of eight hours. The airline only gave us ten US dollars to have lunch. Only two
hours after the flight took off, the F/A spilt hot coffee on my legs. Despite having great flights
on this airline, and being proudly Argentinian, I wouldn't flight again on Aerolíneas Argentinas, if
i have the chance to fly another airline

I flew from BA to Montevideo last year. I was very surprised to enjoy the generous and comfort space
of an old 737-200 which I supposed to be recently painted or washed as it shines. The crew were very
nice and the snack was good regarding a 30 minutes flight. And the better, the quality of the
flight as all argentine captains have, I felt to be very safe to fly with them. Sure, if I have the
chance, I would fly AR again !

Flew Aerolineas F/C from Iguazu Falls (via Aeroparque) to Ushuaia, then return to EZE, in Dec 2003.
VERY prompt departures on all flights. Aircraft have certainly seen better days. On the three
flights, one F/A was very friendly and outgoing; the others seemed as if we, the passengers, were
interfering in their lives. Quality of F/C food was very disappointing, but good Argentinian wines.
If they offer the only service, then would fly them again.

8 December 2003
On board and airport experiences with AR have been positive and satisfactory but attempting to
obtain credits for flights flown has been a frustrating experience. All supporting documents
apparently went astray between AR MIA and BUE. Marketing Dept in MIA refuses to respond to follow
up faxes, obviously hoping the passenger will disappear. I suggested a compromise but again no
answer. AR'S domestic and regional inflight service is far superior to U.S. carriers but the
airline is being let down by indifferent marketing staff in MIA. This type of
indifference doesn't
encourage new bookings and we are planning several more flights in South America including Argentina
but will seek to book away from AR wherever possible.
