Think the airport is good, all toilets are clean and a cleaner is always standing at the entrance on standby. There is also a cactus garden, sunflower garden, butterfly garden, cinema and xbox game centre- all of this is free.

This airport was confusing as it displayed the best and worst of what an airport can be all in one! Arrived Terminal 2, toilets clean but mostly squat toilets! There was 1 western toilet in each block which was always full as no-one wanted to use the squat toilets, I found this problem throughout the airport which was very surprising as I've traveled extensively in Asia and never seen this at an airport before. Passport control took over an hour, by which time the baggage was left on carousel but no airline sign was on there so we had to ask. Airport looks great, very impressive until we noticed the lack of basic seating. Most restaurants closed about 10pm so it was too late for us. They had 24 hour food courts which were great, only problem is they didn't accept card. The cash machines nearby would only let us draw out 100SGD so didn't want to be left with all that money for a cheap meal. The airport lacked signposts and was hard to navigate, we walked around to different terminals and others were having the same problem. They had wifi but it was different in each area so you had to request a code and find the information desk each time! Very inconvenient as sms codes didn't work. Had lots of problems speaking to staff in English which was surprising for a country where its the official language. I was very disappointed in this airport, its like they are in a race to build more gimmicky things and are too concerned by the look of the airport to overlook basic things like restaurants accepting credit cards, lack of seating and toilets, fast passport control! It is a very impressive airport on the surface but basic airport things are just lacking!

Tired of having long immigration queues? Tired after a long flight? Want to have a shower, movies and a garden to satisfy your cravings and relax while you wait for your plane? Well then Changi is just for you. Immigration queue in 5 mins, lots of places to relax and enjoy, bags on the carousel the moment you clear immigration. Fast, efficient and quite a charming airport. Transport to the city though was the only thing Changi is lacking, have to transfer if you take the metro and no 24 hr transportation except the taxis which were expensive. However, Changi is a masterpiece that caters for the needs of its passengers and strives to provide excellent and professional service.

Changi is a delight for departing, arriving and transiting passengers. VAT refund is computerized and terribly easy. The queue time for immigration is barely 2-3 minutes and the luggage is on the belt once you complete immigration. Extremely efficient taxi queues. Many options to eat, relax and shop at both T2 and T3 which are connected by a Skytrain. For passengers in transit, Changi provides vouchers that can buy you food or cater to shopping needs or even a snooze in the lounge. Free wifi is great. Very clean washrooms and great service!

The best airport in the world. At least for transiting passengers. Having inexpensive showers, real Singapore $ vouchers was a great delight. Everywhere service was fine. Very good restaurants. Most interesting shops. Not having to walk too much made journey so easy. Also good was the clarity of signs. If one has the $ to transit/go there do it!

Arrived into Changi airport Terminal 1 on 28/7/2014 at around 3.35pm. Immigration queues were long and took nearly 1hr to get through. There were plenty of counters available, but no officers put on. The worst part of the whole experience is waiting for taxis after clearing customs and having to wait for over 100 mins to get to the cab. The queues snaked back to the Arrival gates and it was chaos in the main lobby. There was a girl representing Changi Airport to tell people where to queue for taxi, but no explanations or assistance offered to anyone.

Consistency re queues has dropped recently for Immigration. I waited 50 minutes on a quiet Tuesday afternoon in T3. A colleague in T1 took 90 minutes later that evening, but another colleague took 25 seconds the day before. In my case, no explanations were given, no apologies were made, and no water was offered. With the air-con broken that day throughout all terminals, it was a very long wait in sticky hot humid conditions. While the airport infrastructure itself remains generally excellent (clean, shopping, pool, flower displays, seating, free Wi-Fi), I think Changi no longer has enough Immigration staff rostered on - not something expected in the World's Best Airport.

There is a reason this airport surpasses the rest. From the time you walk in the airport, it environment is different from the typical airport facility. It has the comforting climate of a hotel, while having all the stores of a mall. But not that is not all. Did I mention they have movie theatre, gym, game stations too? These are non- essential additions, but that people can really appreciate. Passengers can be very tired and might have a few hours of layover. When an airport offers these kind of amenities, it can make all the difference in the experience. Needless to say, Changi airport also got the basic system nailed. Baggage claim, immigration clearance, and other similar processes that make one's experience miserable are minimized in this airport thanks to their well-executed and efficient system.

Is Changi playing dirty in the airport ratings game? As a Solitaire flyer on SQ, I have noticed that they regularly send a mere 5 or 6 bags out very quickly, then it's about twenty minutes before the rest come out. Surely this can't be to claim a fast delivery, can it?

Transit in Terminal 1. The best Airport I've been to. Getting out of the plane to my transit gate in less than 5min despite the hugeness of the Airport. Airport and security staff nice and professional, signage is excellent, airport is clean and welcoming, lots of shops and food courts rather cheap for an international airport lots of facilities including, shower, hotel, swimming pool and gym. And free wifi works.

Arrived on 23/06/2014 late at night, plane was parked quite far from the immigration area, however, there were many gates. Immigration officer friendly, and very fast and efficient. Baggage was already there when we reached the belt. My only gripe is that the person controlling the taxi area actually yelled at me when I refused to take the expensive Chrysler taxi and told me to take the cab beside it knowing that it was also expensive. The midnight charges were very expensive (50% of taxi fare), eventually rode a Transcab taxi.

Currently sitting in E7 terminal 1. It smells like the place has not been cleaned in ages. When told to officers here, they say cleaning work is going on. It was the same case 4 months back. If terminal cannot maintain carpets, please don't use them.

Singapore Changi is the most efficient airport in the world, hands down. Yes, it is not the most impressive architecture but it is certainly one of the most well-run and organised airport. The signage are adequate and choices for food are similarly sufficient. Both immigration and custom are efficient. The washrooms are spotlessly clean! My experience at Singapore Changi is thus a simple testimony of what this society is all about - efficient and organised.

I know this sounds boring but I fully agree with almost everyone - this is the best airport I have been to or through. Everything works. Everything is designed for the traveller. A pleasant environment, bright, cheerful and clean, helpful staff, interesting things to do and great value transit accommodation. The operational side is equally impressive with check-in, security, immigration, baggage systems all working really well and very little queuing. The linkage between the terminals is so easy. I often use Changi as my hub between Australia and most other places and have never been disappointed. Congratulations Singapore on being world best practice, perhaps you could send your people to European and Australian airports to teach them how it should be done.

What a great airport, easy to navigate, no queues at check in if departing, no queues for immigration if arriving or departing and the bags already going round on the carousel when we got to it! One slight issue though while getting something to eat in the food court in terminal 2 a large cockroach came out of a vent and set off across the floor followed a few seconds later by another!

CGK-SIN. Arrived on T3 and it is as good as you would expect from this airport. Great airport facility, spacious boarding room, clean toilet, and fast immigration. Immigration staff not quite friendly but still acceptable. Airport mall is great, wide variety of food and shop, Good transportation to various kind of destination in SG with SMRT. Overall Changi is the best airport I have visited and I will always look forward to my visit here.

The best airport I have been to, and I have experienced dozens and dozens of them. Arriving at SIN early morning, after a long 27 hr trip from LAX, before my connecting flight to KL, I was able to take advantage of a leisurely shower, rested and refreshed after a nap in the relaxation lounge, all rejuvenated and ready to carry on with my trip as a transit passenger. Arriving into the city was just as easy and efficient.

Changi is among the best airports, if not the best in the world. The range of shops and services for those in transit are excellent and arrival and departure processes are a breeze. It is a fantastic airport in every respect, and other airports should really be striving for this level of service. Changi is a great ambassador for Singapore.

Flight from Australia arrives at 11.28pm, disembarkation within 10 minutes, immigration clearance less than 1 minute, duty free for just 2 minutes and bags on the belt just 10 minutes after disembarkation. Taxi from the airport to home at 11.54pm - just 6 minutes shy of midnight. This airport is the gold standard for all self- respecting airports to aspire to attain.

Like most of the other reviews, this airport is excellent. There never seems to be a line at passport control in each direction. While it isn't an architectural masterpiece, it is extremely functional and open. I usually don't like doing security at the gate but on the upside, you don't have to queue to get into the airport.

This is probably the best airport in the world in my opinion. It is eye-catching, efficient, clean, and well laid out. Departing is actually a pleasant experience - check-in is prompt and there are lots of options when waiting for a plane which vary from shopping, to watching a movie, to visiting the various botanical areas (I was in Terminal 3 so visited the Butterfly Garden). The free foot massages were excellent too! Pleased that when walking to a particular Gate for my flight, I was not forced to walk through all the duty free shops unlike in Melbourne for example. Arriving at Changi was an equally good experience - baggage came off promptly, and very efficiently processed through passport/immigration.

What can I say more that everything simply works. Changi takes the edge off the stress of flying. Quiet airport as there is carpeting everywhere. Well maintained airport, food and shopping everywhere, great connection to the city center. Am a non smoker, but even the smoking rooms are spacious and surprisingly smells good even if filled with passengers desperate for one last smoke before flying.

Absolutely superb. Like a 5-star experience. The security staff are so polite. The idea that they had to 'welcome' you into a separate 'boarding lounge' once you clear your boarding card makes the journey much more relaxed and classy than just being shepherded onto the plane like cattle, as at most airports. Everything is first class here.

Singapore Changi Airport is just excellent. A truly world class airport. As soon as you step off the plane into terminal 1, which is the oldest, you know you're in Singapore with its cleanliness and efficiency. There were hardly any passengers when I was at immigration but the desks were fully staffed and the immigration officers were so friendly. They offered free mints at the immigration counter. In departures too facilities were top notch and security checks were done quickly and professionally. I thought nothing could beat Hong Kong Airport but Changi is in a league of its own. How I wish other airport authorities around the world would try to copy aspects of Singapore Changi Airport as it heaps shame on so many airports around the world like Beijing Capital and Charles de Gaulle.

I also enjoyed sleeping and watching movies at Changi. My favourite airport!

I flew from Changi terminal 3. It's a huge terminal with many shops and restaurants, and I can't imagine passengers getting too bored inside. However, its problem is that it's really too big and sprawls to nowhere. Walking to Gate A21 completely tired me out. The most ridiculous thing is water. They sell bottled water after passing immigration, but they don't let you bring the water bought into the gate. Why allow those shops to sell them if they aren't eventually allowed in? In the end, I was forced to drink the whole bottle before entering the gate. It's nice that they have drinking stations inside the gate, but frankly they are unnecessary if they scan passengers' baggage before they let people shop.

I had never used Changi until recently. Now I understand totally as to why this airport was rated the top in the world over several years. This is the airport that makes weary travellers feel relaxed. My 6-hour transit went by unnoticed. It is a total joy to be at Changi. I think a 5-star is an under-rating. This is how good Changi is.

Still the best airport in the world. Immigration staff need to be trained in hospitality. A quick smile can make a lot of difference. One immigration officer refused to handle a passenger because she didn't fill in her flight no in her disembarkation card. Instead she was made to fill it up herself and go to the back of the long queue. The same officer also barked "Excuse me!! Excuse me!!" for people to come to her counter. A nicer "next please" would have been more appropriate. Then my 5-year old started to throw a tantrum while waiting for baggage and a security staff passed by while giving my daughter a long stare. Very rude. Because of this the airport is only getting an 8 from me when otherwise it should have been a full 10.

Truly a world class airport. Though it is not as huge as the Incheon airport, the space is well managed. The seating is comfortable since most flights have a long layover and Singapore Immigration allows exit only once for transit passengers. There are ample washrooms, shops, food places and rest areas. There's even giant screen movies, kids areas, orchid garden, butterfly garden etc if you want to stroll around. The food is pricey but in T2 there is a food galley upstairs with some relatively economical options. There is no shortage of shopping varieties and you don't have to bother about passing the time. You can even find a quiet corner to just snooze or watch the planes take-off/ land or maybe just use the free internet wifi. The free leg-massage chairs are quite popular and I enjoyed them. There is a free skytrain like SFO connecting T3 with T2 so you can even switch terminals for more shopping options. There is a free Singapore Tour option available for transit passengers but only one way. The interior decoration of Changi is much better than that of Incheon. Signage is adequate and self explanatory. The staff are polite and ready to assist.

The airport is modern and convenient. However, the temperature inside the terminal is uncomfortably high, close to 82F. It makes no sense for the airport authority to save a bit on air conditioning. For locals familiar with warm weather, this might be fine. But for international travelers, this is almost unbearable!

Despite the long distances to get anywhere, the terminal isn't very spacious. HUGE numbers of electric carts (carrying less-mobile passengers, or pushing trolleys, or often just empty) tear around the terminal, making a lot of noise and, because of the limited space, constantly getting in people's way and risking accidents. And, like many other airports, the poorly-planned secondary gate security leads to long queues blocking the terminal passageways and making the electric cart issue even worse. Wifi doesn't reach all gates and forex services have very bad rates. On the plus side, staff in every position are excellent.

Facilities are sufficient and services are mostly available when you need them. Immigration check is efficient. Food choices are relatively limited inside the checked area. Transport to/from airport is quick and easy. However, night buses are not available after MRT closes and it forces travellers to use taxi after mid-night which is not ideal. I do not like the low ceiling inside the checked area (except T3) and do not like to be kept in a checked area at the boarding gate.

I never fail to be amazed at the standard of every provision at this airport. It really must be one of the best world-wide. The airport seems to breathe efficiency in a relaxed manner with smiling and helpful staff everywhere. Due to a problem with my connecting flight to Melbourne, albeit through no fault of the airline, the airport staff did everything possible to ensure my onward journey could be completed with the minimum of delay.
