"staff were very polite"

Arrived in Paro airport at 1pm. There WERE 2 flights that had arrived. Immigration was quick and the staff were very polite. We got our bags and we left the airport in less than 15 minutes. For our departure, check in took 5 minutes and immigration another 5. The departure lounge is small but adequate. Lots of craft shops and a few places to eat. Very casual airport and the staff are very friendly. The cafe food was however awful but the coffee was nice. Wifi available but kept disconnecting. All in all a charming little airport for this stunning country.

"very basic amenities"

Paro International Airport is located 2335 meter above sea level so flights can only fly in the morning. I took a Druk Air flight from Bangkok and the other time I took a flight from Kathmandu, I prefer flying from Kathmandu because I could see Himalayan Mountains if the weather permits. Paro Airport has very basic amenities because they have two carriers flying in and out. It replicated Bhutanese traditional architecture and it looked very beautiful as I was walking into the airport.
