✅ Trip Verified | Absolutely awful experience at passport control, people are treated very unfairly. Staff shouting at people no respect at all for travelers. Very poor trained staff not confident at all. Surely need to be retrained or SACKED for that sort of behaviour. Traveled round the globe and this is worst experience for sure. Would even like to make an official complaint to authorities. Staff needs to be shown which is right way of working ethics. Such a shame that sort of people still exists. Very very poor.

"Horrible behaviour by passport control staff"

Not Verified | Horrible behaviour by the passport control staff. This woman at passport control took my passport and kept on repeating "open!" "open!" like a parrot. I am asking what am I supposed to open? She literally starts yelling at me in Lithuanian, luckily the gentleman behind me was Lithuanian and opened the finger print scanner cover for me, I had never seen a scanner like that before, and why was it covered in the first place? She never asked any questions, not even the basics. I thanked the guy behind me and left. I mean being strict at passport control is different but this sort of behaviour is disgusting and totally unacceptable.

Not Verified | I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I experienced at Kaunas Airport on August 18. I was scheduled to fly with Ryanair to Copenhagen at 13:00 and arrived at the airport more than an hour before departure. While waiting, I frequently checked the screens for updates on the gate status, but it remained unchanged, leading me to believe there was a delay. When I eventually noticed a line forming at the gate, I joined it about 10 minutes later. Upon reaching the front, I presented my passport and boarding pass to the staff, only to be informed that the flight had already departed, and the gate was now being used for a different destination. I was shocked and confused, as no final call or announcement had been made. A staff member offered to assist me in understanding the situation. However, both she and her colleagues informed me that, as a small airport, Kaunas Airport does not announce final calls or provide updates. Frankly, I find this explanation hard to believe. Having traveled through numerous airports worldwide, I have never encountered such a lack of communication or unprofessional service. To make matters worse, I was told there were no available flights to Copenhagen (or any airport in Denmark) that day. This was extremely concerning, as I had an important meeting scheduled for the following day. Despite the circumstances, the staff insisted it was my responsibility to have boarded the flight and informed me that I was not eligible for a refund or any assistance. They offered alternative flights from other airlines, scheduled several days later, with multiple layovers in different countries, costing more than 200 euros. This was simply not feasible given my schedule. With no support from Kaunas Airport's team, I had to take matters into my own hands. I booked a last-minute flight from Vilnius to Warsaw, followed by another flight from Warsaw to Copenhagen, at a personal cost of over 300 euros. In addition, I had to rush from Kaunas to Vilnius to make the connection in time. After a long and exhausting day of travel, I finally arrived in Copenhagen at 23:30. This entire experience has been, without a doubt, the worst travel experience I have ever encountered. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and support provided by Kaunas Airport. The following email correspondence with Kaunas Airport was unproductive, as they failed to take any responsibility for the issue. I strongly advise others to avoid this airport to avoid similar disappointment.

Not Verified | Absolutely terrible, bad experience, people treated like cattle, after check in and passport checks, waiting in queue for bording..stuck for over an hour outside, after 11 pm, frail and old people, people with small children forced to stand for very long time, no explanation, no seats, no toilets, waiting outside in cold and wet weather. Several times I flew through Kaunas it was the same- small, cramped spaces, not enough seating, they can't cope with any numbers of passenger flows. Rude, inpatient staff, arrogant and unwilling to provide information. I will avoid this airport at all costs.

✅ Trip Verified | If you are in a hurry to get somewhere never travel with this airport especially in the evening. Your flight will arrive on time but you will spend hours waiting in queue to get your passport checked and getting out. Absolutely no information about why no personnel is working. Waiting in the queue for 2 hours white the line not moving at all, people at the booth to get passports checked are standing in 1 booth for over 10 - 15 minutes. They accepted 2 planes landing at the same time and absolutely no staff to get people checked out. I understand if it was a big airport and multiple plains, but even there you have movement in the queue! I normally do not leave reviews but this experience was absolutely atrocious.

✅ Verified Review | This is the worst airport I been travelling to. There is a long waiting time to go through passport control. Toilets are dirty. There are no places to eat, only a bar. I wanted to rent an automatic car. Four companies were closed on a weekday, another three said they had no automatic cars to rent and another said it is only possible with advanced booking. Customer service skills were poor in all cases. I decided not to take a taxi as the price of driving into the town was too high - 25 euro for 10-15 min drive. There is only one bus connecting to the town. It was filled to the brim, yet the driver was stopping every 3 min trying to squeeze in the commuters on top of the people traveling from airport. It was 30 min drive from hell. I got off at the bus garage and called eight companies to high the car - there was not a single automatic car in the whole town!

✅ Verified Review | Truly awful service. Woman working at security was unbelievably rude, and continued to hassle me even after my luggage was successfully screened. Luckily, the airport is small so getting to the gate without checking luggage took about 25 minutes. At the gate, there were about a third as many seats as people, so many were standing / sitting on the ground - but it's being renovated, so hopefully this is soon to improve. Flying from Kaunas could be a comfortable experience, but the cosmetic improvements are moot when the staff have no respect for passengers. Did not expect such poor treatment when the country actively tries to attract tourists - would rather drive to Riga airport than fly from here again.

Kaunas airport is small and modern. Arrivals is super fast, especially if you don't have any checked-in luggage, you can be out of the door in 5-10 min. Super tiny bathrooms. A bar, kiosk and souvenirs in the main hall. Departures are compact. Staircases to go up to security and down to the gate. Another bar, kiosk and a small duty free in the departures side. Once again stairs to go to the plane. Overall it's fine, wouldn't mind using it again.
