"small but functional airport"
Yiwon Joo (South Korea)
Not Verified | When I arrived at this airport from incheon, the immigration lines were long. It took me more than an hour to get out of the airport. I headed to Incheon a few days later. Security and immigration was actually fine although I found the facilities a little old. There were plenty of places to shop and relax, but I wished that there were more food choices. Overall, this is a small but functional airport.

"Small but good airport"
2 reviews K Marsek (Czech Republic)
✅ Trip Verified | Small but good airport, the usual Japanese quality, clean, efficient, good staff. Places to shop and eat, and have lots of charging spots. Its so convenient to reach from the city center.

"staff so keen to help and so lovely"
Sam Martin (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Never have I been to an airport with staff so keen to help and so lovely. After a baggage mishap at Shanghai Airport I arrived at Fukoaka knowing that my bag was not on the flight that I was on. Upon arrival immigration was a breeze, even with a British passport, and I went straight to the arrivals desk where four people immediately helped me. They were so kind and helpful and sorted out my problem immediately. They reassured me that everything would be ok and even gave me a 5000 yen note to pay for the delivery of my luggage to where I was staying, somewhere around 3 hours away from Fukoaka. The whole airport experience was wonderful in comparison to the rude service I received at Shanghai Pu Dong Airport. Thank you to everyone who helped out a traveler who had lost his baggage.

"staff were polite and friendly"
7 reviews Teng Yong Khoo (Malaysia)
✅ Trip Verified | Long immigration queues are the main factor why the 'Queuing Times' section receives only 2 stars. However, the airport staff were polite and friendly which gives some merits on staff service.

"90 minutes for luggage to finally arrive"
5 reviews Olivier Moeschler (Hong Kong)
✅ Verified Review | Upon arrival moved swiftly thru immigration. The luggages for all the passengers did not arrive - some malfuntion was announced - it took 90 minutes for the luggage to finally arrive. No announcement during that time. There are no seats in the areas so every one sat in th floor waiting. Upon departure also check in and immigration moved very fast. Went to the Fukuoka lounge - very spacious but very limited food. Soup? Noodles and bread.

"this airport is left lacking"
T Johnson (United Kingdom)
✅ Verified Review | Compared to NRT / HND / KIX this airport is left lacking. It is small so should have been an easy one to transfer in but with very little time one had to get out of the domestic terminal and wait for a bus ride to take you to the international terminal. After some 15 minutes ride you get there and it was quite difficult to figure out where to go. Finally getting to departures you had to queue for a long time for both security scanning and passport control. The staff were very rude unlike elsewhere in Japan where one always gets a great welcome. They tried to pull the basket away before I had even put everything in it. No hello. After enduring the rudeness you had the very slow passport check queue which took forever. Left no time for shopping or enjoying the terminal. Grabbing a few items in panic I got to the gate. There was still just the call to go to the gate but for some reason I heard my name called on the tannoy. I presented myself. The gate staff offered no explanation nor smiles looking at my boarding pass and then handing it back to me. It was most odd. The up shot is if you are using FUK make sure you have a lot of time and don't expect the usual Japanese manners. Certainly made this traveler feel most unwelcome.

"Very hectic and confusing"
R Pope (Japan)
A very confusing and dirty airport. I've lived in Japan a long time, but this was my first trip to Fukuoka. I was very disappointed with the airport overall. Very hectic and confusing. It was also quite cluttered and dirty, which I was surprised because you don't see that in other airports in Japan. I was looking for a specific shop, but could not find an information counter anywhere on the departure level. I finally went to the bottom floor near the subway station where I found one. The restaurants inside the airport to not have any signage or menus in English, which was also surprising considering the number of foreigners I saw walking around - and yes, they too looked as confused as I undoubtedly did.

Fukuoka Airport customer review
Phil Leong (Hong Kong)
Arrived in FUK on Nov 26 and departed Nov 30 from/to Shanghai. Arrival was a breeze. Baggage reclaim immigration and custom clearance were fast and smooth. Staff efficient and smiling. Departure was terrible. Only 1 X-ray machine for all check in bags from 2 flights of pax resulting in long lines looping around the entire check in island. Waited 30 mins before bags scanned and allowed to check in. Then carry on bags had to subject to another check with long lines again. Another 20 mins wasted standing in queue. This was clearly quite unsatisfactory and a pity as the airport was otherwise very clean modern great looking with helpful and friendly staff.

Fukuoka Airport customer review
Jeremy Chan (Hong Kong)
Arrival on 25/12 and departure on 1/1. Efficient and friendly airport staff even the immigration officers were welcoming. It was supposed to be a domestic airport so the international terminal was nearly empty when we arrived. Spotlessly clean no matter the departure or arrival hall toilets luggage claim. Floor guide was very clear. As impressive when we departed from the airport. Before departure visited their domestic terminal. Amazed with their friendly and helpless ground staff and the facilities despite the small size of the airport. Three domestic terminals with good Japanese and western restaurants. Observation deck was amazing that I could actually see planes takeoff and land very closely unlike Hong Kong International Airport where they charged. The domestic terminals were busier but still spotlessly clean and efficient and it is close to the main city and subway station. A fantastic tiny airport.

Fukuoka Airport customer review
Phil Carey (United Kingdom)
Great little airport: incredibly close in to the city centre (5 minutes by metro from the Domestic Terminal to the central station) and the international terminal is spacious with comfortable seating by the gates and good value shopping. The only downside is the tedious 10-minute bus transfer to get there from the Domestic Terminal.
