Copenhagen Airport

I have flown through CPH all my life to visit family, sometimes 4-5 times a year. This time, the first in 6 months, was a shock. Twenty-five minutes for the Ryanair bag drop (partly due to Danes not having been trained in the Ryanair routine) but a shocking 35 minutes for security. The queue stretched out of the security area almost all the way along the mezzanine floor in Terminal 3. I asked a security official about the delay and he said they were adding space 'soon'. Otherwise, once airside the experience is unchanged. Comfortable and varied shopping but then a very long walk to the Ryanair/Easyjet gates. Not so long ago, one of the best. Today, the worst in Europe.

Bad security checking area for passengers starting journey at Copenhagen: allow an extra 45-60 minutes to get through security. Extremely long queues, disorganised system, no space for passengers to open bags, frequent log jams, security staff are rude. Shopping/eating area has very limited seating.

By far the worst airport queuing experience I have had. Luckily we arrived 2.5 hours ahead of our international flight - we needed every second just to make it to the gate. This airport has no organisation at all. From the moment you get off the metro the experience goes downhill - flying internationally - ok walk outside and covered for 300m (thankfully we visited in summer and not when it was snowing), the. Experience 10mins waiting to check in followed by 25mins just to get through security but at least they warn you of that wait. Unbeknown to a lot of the next queue surrounding us - there is a further 30 min wait to get through passport control. But this isn't clear - the duty free and food areas separate security and passport - so you could waste a lot of time and then be scrambling to catch your flight on time. The queue was so bad for passport that it snaked out through the food area and back on itself. How can an airport stay operating with systems like this - terrible.

Travelling from Orebro to Birmingham via Copenhagen. The first flight went well with BMI regional, and we had 2h to catch the next flight to Birmingham. Passport checks were awful - a long line with only 1 counter open and this took 65m. Copenhagen is a beautiful and recommended airport unless passport checks are needed.

The lounge at Copenhagen airport is one of the worst I have ever experienced. No one took away many used glasses and dishes for long time. Kitchen staff did not check whether drinks are suffiently provided. No drinking water - even though I told the reception they just was said that someone will re-fill it but they didn't. No chilled white wine, just an empty bottle.

It is perfectly true about the bad seating. I always used to sit on a small row of seats just before the passport control for non-Schengen flights while waiting for my flight to Asia. Then I found they had been removed - not to make way for anything else, there was just an empty space. This must be a cynical attemt to make passengers go to a place where they can buy food and drink (at exorbitant prices) if they feel a need to sit down. Totally unacceptable, so I try to avoid this airport.

Have been travelling through Copenhagen roughly once a month since early 2009 and have seen many changes over that time. Ask me 6 months ago how I'd rate it and it would be around a 7/10 - room for improvement, but overall OK. In the past two months it has deteriorated dramatically. The "queues" for security have suddenly exploded. In fact it's more like a football crowd filling the whole approach area to security. I though it was bad two visits ago when the crowd stretched the entire length of the corridor, but last time the queue filled the landing of the entrance foyer before you even got to the corridor. Once is understandable, but twice makes me wonder. On top of that, having almost been delayed past the gate closure time, passport control was not manned. I could see my flight boarding and was made to wait until an official deigned to let me through. This airport has really gone downhill. And the worst is the banners in the security hall proclaiming CPH security to be the best. Possibly the worst, but certainly not the best.

Great dining options. Carts available for free everywhere. Beautiful interiors and good shopping. Way too long time waiting for luggage at the caroussel. Unbelievably smelly and uncleaned toilets. Strange place to save money. Lack of public seating and resting area. You almost have to buy something to have access to sit down. Lack of free unlimited wifi.

Appalling security processing at Copenhagen airport, biggest queue I have ever experienced. The line stretched outside the main processing area and we waited for over 45 minutes - atrocious, ruined my experience of Copenhagen and Denmark. Also stopped me spending money in the duty free shopping.

Copenhagen Airport must be one of the slowest airports in the world when it comes to unloading lugguage. I travel a lot with work and this is always an annoyance - missing connecting trains etc. Lazy and arrogant towards travellers time is what it is.
