Seat 35H right behind crew rest so no problems with reclining in front. Given that i am 6'1" I was surprised at the leg room. Usually fly in J Class but not this time. I was on the aisle and only one other passenger in the 3 seats in 35J. For a flight from SYD-BKK was a very comfortable flight. Don't usually sleep on flights so recline of my seat was no issue

The seat was 46A, which is an exit row. There is no window, and legroom is hindered by the bulge in the bottom of the door that houses the emergency slide. To get into the seat, I had to hold onto the handle next to the door, and swing myself into position. I could stretch my legs by crossing my ankles (not recommended for long flights) and sitting slightly sideways. The tray table is in the armrest, which reduces width of the seat. The pouch on the wall holds magazines and safety cards for all three seats, so it's not possible to put anything in there. The overhead bin only holds 2 bags, and it's not possible to place anything on the floor during take off and landing. Cold air blows through the door seal, so I used the blanket to protect my legs. The advantages of this seat are that you can come and go, without having to climb over your fellow passengers, although some people queuing for the restrooms were reluctant to move out of the way. The entertainment system screen is on a pole, which swings up from the front of the seat. This is much better than having one in the seat in front of you, and you don't get anyone reclining into your face. However, the mechanism that stopped the entertainment system control from flying back into its holder was broken, and was impossible to use when the tray table was down. I actually managed to get some sleep, and it was certainly better than the mid cabin experience.

Dash 8 flight of just over one hour, the seats are good compared to that of a QANTAS 737. Cloth seats keep cool in the summer heat, enough leg room for a larger built person, considering the size of the aircraft. Best seats are on the side opposite to the entry door. Width of seat was ok considering person next to me with their overhang. No TV screen due to the size of aircraft (no radio for that matter either) seat did not recline - not sure weather that is how plane comes or a fault but pretty good when upright.

Flight from LAX to Melbourne. It was the most cramped, uncomfortable seating I've ever experienced in coach on any airline. My wife was in the middle seat, and shares my opinion. The cabin crew was obviously having a bad day; gratuitously rude.

With all the airlines flying at close to full capacity these days there is no way for a tall person to be comfortable in these seats. I can usually sleep anywhere but for the two long haul flights was not able to get any sleep at all. Also, while the in-seat entertainment is a nice feature it comes at the expense of leg room as Qantas put a hefty box under the aisle seat to accommodate this which leaves no room for legs to even spread out. I would consider myself pretty fit and agile but once that seat in front reclined there is no easy way to get out of my seat leaving me trapped for the duration of the 12+ hour flight. Prisoners get more space.

Qantas economy seating on their narrow body fleet are terrible. Very cramped especially when seat in front of you is reclined!! Impossible for anyone in the same row to get out without others having to stand up.

Row 27, the second of two rows between Business Class & first set of Economy class toilets, stairs to upper deck on 2-class B747-400. Knee room is minimal which is made even worse by the video boxes under the aisle seats of the middle section, causing close to zero legroom. The only positive item of this row is that the wall is behind you therefore you can keep your seat reclined for the 23 (+/-) hour flight FRA-SYD. Row 55 on the return flight was much better.

On the older style Boeing 747-400 you would never wanted to be seated in the aisle seat directly opposite the galley. To makes matters worse if you score an Inflight Entertainment box infront of your seat you can forget moving your legs. At 6ft 2 I found this the most uncomfortable 9 hours. You are constantly disturbed by crew and other passengers. You get hit with food carts etc. There is just no opportunity to sleep. Avoid these seats.

A truly appalling seat. Seat had collapsed and it groaned with every body movement (very enjoyable on a 14 hour flight). Qantas does little to cater for economy passengers. My family occupied the seats either side (A&C) and the condition and serviceability of their seats was scarcely better than mine (B). It is effectively impossible to move from the seats without the occupant of the neighbouring seat having to stand up. With seats in front in recline hell begins.

We were seated behind the bulkhead, so it made for a little extra legroom. Video screen was of a "pull out of armrest" type, which made for multiple viewing angles. Seat was of standard economy type - fairly typical width and padding.

Was very surprised to find poor seat pitch of 30 when they advertise 32. The seats seemed to be much closer than usual and not as comfortable as those I have sat in when flying on Virgin Blue. Disappointing seat availability when you pay Qantas premium price. I requested an emergency exit seat but they told me that they were not available, yet remained empty during the flight
