Zagreb-Munich, Shared flight with Lufthansa. Good check-in. ERJ aircraft is more comfortable and quieter than imagined. Just, there is no meal on-board for a 19:00 flight.

Zagreb - Paris (CDG) in business class. Cabin layout was European business class configuration 3-3 with centre seat converted into a table. Cabin crew hospitable. After take off a full lunch was served. Duty free sales conducted prior to arrival in Paris. Overall a very pleasant flight with cheerful flight attendants.

London to Zagreb return. At London boarding I was advised Your seat is not "working" please stand at the back and wait. Stood there for 15 min. until boarding was completed, to be told: "Okay, take any seat you like". Stewardess never offered an explanation, she was obviously poorly trained - no smile or eye contact. I searched for the in-flight magazine and my hands got stuck to it. It was covered in grease. Food was cold, no taste. On my return flight - apart from the seats "working" there was no improvement but for flight captain who was communicative and kept us informed on flights progress. In-flight magazine I found this time was tatty, pages ripped out, corners rolled up. Not much of presentation or marketing tool.

ZRH-ZAG-SPU-ZAG-ZRH on Dash8Q400. These planes are nice and new. Experience in Business Class is like other airlines' economy. "Dedicated" Business Class Check-in in Zagreb and especially Split is slow and unfriendly. The food is poor, cabin crew grumpy (ZRH-ZAG they were in better mood) and too lazy to sell tax free items on ZAG-ZRH leg (maybe you wonder why we didn't buy in the tax free shop in ZAG? Well, it was closed due to some problems with power. From ZAG to ZRH we experienced 75 minutes delay, without any explanation. I travel OU 4-5 times a year and unfortunately it is getting worse, especially as far as on board service and delays are concerned.

CDG-ZAG-DBV return on A320. CDG-ZAG-CDG, shared business class lounge with Lufthansa, but no problem to use lounges of other Star Alliance partners. On a return flight, we use Zagreb airport lounge, which is nothing special. In the plane, business class first 3 rows, a little bit different seats than economy. Prior take off, welcome drinks served, small cakes and French newspapers offered. During the flight, nice hot meal was served with a great assortment of drinks and wines. ZAG-DBV-ZAG, on a flight to Dubrovnik, after boarding, we have to wait for 30 minutes in the plane because of bad weather, however captain informed us every 10 minutes about the situation. Welcome drinks and newspapers served before take off. We had a very bumpy flight so they didn't serve nothing but we got apology from the purser. Return flight on time, we got some kind of salad with a cake. We found this airline very good, cabin staff are very nice. Only small complaint can be Zagreb airport which is very old.

Gatwick-Pula return. Outward flight A320 in Star Alliance livery, return flight A319. Outward aircraft looked modern and in good condition but return aircraft looked a lot older. Food more than adequate for a short flight with complimentary drinks. Pleasant staff but a bit miserable at times. Very good captain announcements on the outward flight, return flight captain was a lot quieter.

Amsterdam-Zagreb return A320. Interior was ok, clean, planes were not that old. Service on board was ok, same as many other companies. Food was of same quality as everywhere else. Movie from Croatia with lots of T-Mobile ads. Sound (music) was frustrating if you want to close your eyes for a while. Problem is still the poor english of both captain and cabin crew. Smiling is strictly forbidden. And only use Zagreb to arrive and get off quickly. Airport is being modernized, each time I come over it's getting better. But still it lacks most of the basic features of a good airport.

PUY-ZAG-PUY on Dash Q400 and A319. Pula is only a small airport so formalities were quick and easy. When we boarded I was surprised that the aircraft has not been cleaned at all. There was rubbish everywhere - used napkins and newspaper in the seat pockets, cups on the floor. I do accept that pax from ZAD were on but still it would be nice to travel in litter free cabin. Cabin crew were polite, however hardly ever smiled. Flight time was only 30 minutes and service consisted of choice of still or sparkling water and a biscuit. On the way back check in and security quick and easy. Travelled on A319, around 40% full. The cabin crew again polite, this time even a smile or two. Same level of service. After landing in ZAD pax for PUY were asked to stay onboard. Cabin was not cleaned and "security checks" consisted of two cabin crew walking down the cabin looking bored. Flying domestic with Croatia Airlines is a good alternative to coach or train as it is cheap and quick. Not sure I agree with their security checks but I am only a pax.

Zurich to Zagreb. TurboProp aircraft, one flight attendant and 25 passengers. The flight just under 2 hours was relatively pleasant, except excessive engine noise. Flight attendant professional, spoke relatively good German & English. Beverages and sandwiches served during flight and while there was no in-flight entertainment, the view from a window seat over the Alps was amazing. Zagreb airport is in dire need of a major overhaul. Non-Smoking areas do not exist and the waiting area is something to be desired for. There are no shops and/or restaurants and restrooms lack European standards.

LGW - Zagreb - Dubrovnik rtn. LGW - Zagreb flight half full, on a newish A320. 45 minutes late taking off (and we had a 50 minute connecting time in Zagreb to the Dubrovnik flight) but just before landing the pilot announced we would all make our connections. Zagreb - Dubrovnik, very full flight, on ancient and falling apart A320. My seat, and others, had been fixed with aluminium foil! Coming back new equipment. Only gripe was very grumpy flight attendant Zagreb - LGW, who was affronted by a request to move her own bag so that a passenger's bag could be stowed in the overhead luggage bin. She needed to learn to smile. One thing that is annoying beyond all measure, though, is that the airline insists on playing a 'Visit Croatia' video, interspersed with T-Mobile adverts, throughout the whole flight. If the video were silent, this would not be completely unbearable, but sadly the airline chooses to broadcast the sound to the entire cabin. I still have the T-Mobile jingle going through my head as a result. There is no escape, so take earplugs if you want any rest.

Fly Croatia Airlines just about every week. Delays aren't uncommon but usually nothing serious. Crew friendly. Food a bit hit and miss. They're not the best but they're a long way off the worst and I have no problems flying with them. If only I could say the same for Zagreb airport!

Return trip to Sarajevo from London Gatwick via Zagreb. Although connection at Zagreb on the outbound flight was a bit hurried due to a slightly delayed flight it was dealt with smoothly by the airline. The food provided on the flights was pleasant. I would use the airline again.

Night flight Split-Zagreb - arrived to Zagreb at 0020 AM (40 min flight), Airbus 319, nice interior, friendly crew, with only 2o passengers on board. On this short flight in economy class you are served with a glass of water and cookie Paprenjak.

DUS-ZAG. Flight delayed 30 minutes without any explanation. A319 with a rather worn interior. Curtain between cabins were worn to the threads and dirty. Flight crews spoke such broken English as to be intelligible. No entertainment system. A choice of cheese or “meat” sandwiches was offered. Baggage was slow in being delivered to the baggage claim despite fact that this was only inbound aircraft to have recently arrived.

Zadar to Zagreb, departing on 22 June 2008 at 6.45 and arriving at 7.15, with an onward connection to Amsterdam at 8-30. After a very early start, we got to the airport and were told that the flight had been cancelled (they had my phone number but did not call). There was no one from Croatia Airlines present and they did not pick up the phone. Since the airport has no lockers and there was nowhere to leave our luggage, we sat there for nine hours waiting for the next flight to depart and a Croatia Airlines representative to show up. We were then booked on the next flight, which was 24 hours later. Croatia Airlines initially played dumb when we asked where we would spend the night and who would pay for hotel, food and transport. The staff is clearly instructed to provide as little information or assistance as possible. We had to threaten to sleep on an air mattress in front of Croatia Airlines' office, take pictures and email these to one of the local tabloids, before they booked us in a hotel at their expense. We arrived in Amsterdam with 24 hours delay.

DBV-ZAG-LHR return and DBV-ZAG-BRU return economy class. Pleasant and clean cabin interiors with good legroom. Cabin crew attentive. F&B service good (on domestic legs a bit modest but ok considering flight duration). During flights short tourist films about Croatia shown. Croatia airlines is fully integrated into Miles & More frequent flyer program and I earned miles on each flight.

FRA-SPU-ZAG-FRA Economy. All short flights but the crews were attentive and service was good. Originating flight from FRA severely delayed by weather but good info was given and the situation was handled well.

Business class London Heathrow to Zagreb and back. On a first flight I was the only one in a business class but on a return flight were 6 passengers. Airbus A320 aircraft on both flights. Cabin interior and seats very nice blue design - seats have table in the middle leaving the normal middle seat empty. Before take off crew offered orange juice, tissues and some cakes. Big choice of international newspapers. Very personal service, good food (hot meal) and a big choice of beverages. Zagreb airport lounge very bad.

Gatwick-Dubrovnik return economy. For onward flight, had to wade through crowded terminal but it was not airline's fault that Gatwick was packed almost to the seams with people. The flight was about 30 mins late. Airbus plane was spacious, with good leg room, comfortable and clean. Actually, the economy were the same seats as in business, only difference was in business, the middle seats in the latter had a table folded down. Our flight was only two thirds full there were so plenty of empty seats in the middle. Light meal was served which was better than what most "full service" airline would have offered on a short European flight. Return flight was a bit more chaotic. The boarding screen in Dubrovnik airport indicated that our flight was "boarding". However, we waited for 50 mins and nothing happened. We were not told our plane had been delayed. Communication was poor. When we were allowed to board, we had to get onto a bus even though the plane was literally a few yards in front of the departure gate facing us! When the bus was packed with passengers, it made a short round on the tarmac before we were let off again. The passengers laughed because it seemed somewhat funny and silly like we were in some kind of a comedy show on TV! Why can't the airline just asked us to walk a few steps straight to the aircraft? Return flight again with nice and warm cabin crew with similar light meal. Croatian Airlines inflight service is actually rather good but their ground service especially in Dubrovnik airport leaves quite a lot to be desired.
