EL CALAFATE AIRPORT review : 6th July 2008 : by S Koenig

Small, regional airport. There appeared to be only one jetway into the terminal, and it was taken,
so we had to deplane via stairs. Small luggage pick-up area. Dearth of options into town. I did
not think to book the airport "shuttle" (which cost about 17 Pesos to hotels) before I got my
luggage. By the time my bags arrived, the shuttle was filled (only one bus went), so I had to pay
50 Pesos for a taxi. Terminal itself looks relatively new, and is clean. When you check in, you
need to walk past the airport departure tax counter to the airline check-in counter, then walk back
to pay your tax. There are a couple of cafe counters in the departure area.
