Banjul Airport
review : by Dave Stanley
2 March 2008 Customer Rating :
By African standards, this is a very good airport. The building appears to be about 20 years old.
Because of the tourists, it caters for a lot of people. Arriving on a large aircraft will mean long
queues for immigration, but they do move quite quickly. Baggage claim is also a bit chaotic because
the luggage carousels are not big enough. Bags are xrayed on the way out, but they will give up when
the queue gets too long. Most people will then be taken to a couch by their tour company. Departure
procedures are OK. There might be queues at check in, but no worse than any other airport. The
departure lounge is OK, with a few shops/bar and there is a basic business lounge on the top floor.
None of the staff asked for money and were quite helpful. Overall, a good experience.
