Inside the terminal was fine but outside appearances were unkempt and lots of the concrete surfaces - kerbside and
actual walking surfaces were unsafe if not dangerous. Bushes and other attempted adornments neglected. Even the
car parks looked dis-organised. The check-in facilities were opened too early and closed too soon. This
inconvenienced and upset four of my fellow passengers. This was the fault of the young female administration staff
who need better training and courtesy. The elderly male security staff are too severe giving the impression that
you are entering/leaving a third world former communist country. Totally unnecessary to treat fellow EU citizens
in such a manner. In conclusion this is not an Airport but a Aerodrome. I shall revert to using other airports in
the region.

There is no shuttle bus anymore. Connection to the town is by scheduled bus #7 which is much more reliable.
The shuttle to town frequently left before the flight so you had to get a taxi. The departure lounge contains a
shop selling local goods at 'special' prices. The prices are about three times what you'd pay for the same
elsewhere. Likewise coffee at the coffee bar is more expensive than anywhere else. Service is of the usual
surly type. I have on occasion rented a car from Avis here, and being a preferred customer was told I would
have speedy service with no forms to fill in. This was not the case - there was endless form filling to be
done. Note also that although your flight may arrive early it won't do you any good if you have a hire car to
pick up. Whatever time the plane gets in, the hire car form filler turns up some minutes after the scheduled
arrival time so you don't get away any quicker than you would have done otherwise. Downstairs the public
toilets are clean, but the cubicles are of such microscopic dimensions that it's almost impossible to get in
whilst in possession of a piece of luggage, and neither me nor my luggage are particularly large. Leaving is
one of the few pleasures here. The security people are relaxed and sometimes even polite, when they forget
themselves. Presumably this is because they're glad to see the back of you.

Never travel to Perpignan on a Sunday if you can help it. There is only one bus, no 7 which goes about twice
a day from the airport and shuttle buses which used to take you to Perpignan station no longer run at the
moment (I travelled in June 2012). You would have to check on this but they were not running when we were
in Perpignan. Be careful with taxis, they run on a meter and are quite expensive. We paid over 100 euros to
get to Collioures about half an hour drive, we shared the cost with two other people who were going the
same way. During the week buses are much more frequent and perhaps the shuttle buses work during the
peak season. It would be easier to fly to Carcasonne, transport seems to be better from there.

A tiny regional airport but conveniently located. Due to prevailing northwesterly winds final
approach is usually quite bumpy. Baggage claim is very quick. A shuttle bus awaits each
incoming regular flight - travel to the city centre takes 20 mins and costs €4.50 one-way. The
same bus leaves Perpignan roughly one hour prior to each departing flight. Check-in is hassle-
free. ID check takes place upon boarding but also at the security check. Do not go airside too
early as the small boarding area has few seats, frosted glazing and no toilets at all!

A sweet little airport and very fast getting checked in and through security. A bit peeved that
there were no facilities in the departure lounge and windows were frosted. Suggest you leave it as
long as possible before going through to this lounge. I arrived in Perpignan at the bus station
where I found a shuttle time table (2 that day). Plenty of time and I ended up at the railway
station where there was no sign of a timetable. Found the 'Navette' stop but a bit worried hen
departure time arrived and I was the only when there and no bus. Then noticed it across the road
and I was the only passenger!

I commute regularly between Perpignan and Manchester and it is my favourite airport. It only has one
cafe and one shop but these are conveniently situated and adequate for the number of people there. I
can walk 10 yards to check in, there are rarely any queues and there is no need to rush through
security. The place is small, but that's its charm, no hassle, no long walks and friendly and
helpful staff. To fly from most airports you need to allow a good two hours to get from a drop-off
point to check in and then to a gate. In Perpignan 40 minutes suffices.

Shuttle bus to town only runs to coincide with plane arrivals. If you
miss it be ready to fork out for a taxi, as it may be some hours before
another plane comes in.

3 March 2007 Customer Rating :
Very small provincial airport, close to town but out in the scrub. Not a
bad airport when arriving, plenty of taxis but departing is pretty grim.
Facilities limited to one small cafe bar and one small newsagents shop
plus vending machines. There are very few seats. The facilities after
passing through the baggage security checks are practically zero - fewer
seats and not even any toilets plus all the glazing is frosted - you
don't even have a view! I have experienced airports in many third world
countries in Africa, India and the Caribbean but departing from this
airport is not enjoyable.
