| Flying from JFK to Nairobi. Tried to upgrade my economy seat to business via Kenya Airways online bid system (offered several days before the flight), but my offer of $1700 per ticket was declined. I ended up pay a slight premium to move into bulkhead seats (25g & h), which was a great decision. These seats face the lavatory, which wasn’t an issue at all, and provided us with endless legroom. The seats are an exit row, so the armrests are fixed, but I did not feel the seat width was cramped. The seat recline is pretty decent, and the cushion extends out with the recline, so you can get yourself into a pretty acceptable position to sleep. The only downside is the seat cushions felt pretty thin/hard, so after a few hours you could start to feel a little bit of an ache. Overall, this was an acceptable option and probably worth the $3,400 I saved on my i upgrade bid since Kenya Business class is not really on par with other Asian/Mid-East carriers. Overall it was a good flight.
