"worst services I have even seen"

(United Kingdom)

After a 5 hour flight and a 7 hour stop over transfer, and another 9 hour flight ahead we were looking foward to our Hotel Room and Lounge Access to relax and have a clean up. So far Air China have provided us with the worst services I have even seen. The lounge - old, hot, dirty, food of a "bag of nuts". The Hotel Room - we had booked and paid for. We were told no, they are full? (we didn't see anyone). No refund, no apologies just sent to the "Lounge". Air China have a lot of work to do with the total package, with a lack of service and blunt rude people. As others have done, get out find a cafe have a drink. We stink, will be awake for 28 hours with a 3 hour drive home on top.

"staff was very cold, almost robotic"

(United Kingdom)

The furniture was quite old in this Air China lounge and it was impossible to have cold water or even ice. There food was not fresh and there were only few low calories or vegeterian options for food. In terms of privacy as well, there was no proper space to work or to rest in silence. It took me severaly minutes to log in and the instructions were not very clear (passport had to be scanned, which was not mentioned by the receptionist). The staff was very cold, almost robotic.

"the most terrible lounge"

(Germany)

This Air China lounge at Beijing Airport Terminal 3 was one of the most terrible lounges at a major airport I've been to. Dirty appearance, food inedible, staff with virtually no English skills, and either broken interior or unavailable services (WiFi didn't work, showers broken, beds for a nap better not to lie on if you don't want to get some illness). Speaking about design, it is non-existent. Everything has got the charm of a cheap Chinese restaurant. This lounge is a disgrace for the Star alliance and an insult to every passenger actually paying for Business Class service. Air China: don't worry about losing your face - you do every day with services like this lounge.

"a state of disrepair"

(Switzerland)

Visited this Air China lounge at Beijing Capital Airport hoping to freshen up with a shower and grab a meal. When I arrived they were not serving food since dinner only goes from 6pm to 8pm! I have never struck a lounge that didn't have food service going at all times. They said to wait till 10pm when they would serve a supper snack menu. I then tried to have a shower but found that both were out of order. Tried to connect to the lounge wifi, but found the lounge does not have wifi, the staff suggest using the airport free wifi. Airport free wifi is very difficult to connect to, very slow and being a public wifi in China many sites are blocked. Wine was undrinkable Chinese wine. The entire lounge was in a state of disrepair and in need of a refresh. eg. the drinks fridges were all broken so all drinks were room temperature. Power plugs hanging out of the walls in the bathrooms, etc. They did have good chairs, bottled water, power plugs, and a couple of sleeping pods.

"good view over airport"

(Denmark)

Visited this lounge on 28 January for 6 hours. Some minor shortcomings which are lack of proper repairs of faults in toilets, hangers, showers. The tea-room is a nice touch of Chinese culture with a tea-lady serving during afternoons. Food options are mainly Chinese dishes. Alcoholic drink options very limited (Chinese wines and beer). Seating nice and lounge is spacious though not huge. Good view over airport lanes. The lounge is open with the rest of the terminal only separated by a 1.3 meter tall glass-fender giving a nice air. The ceiling is an architectonic beauty, which can be studied from the beds in the 5 sleeping rooms which also are open. WiFi requires passport scanning.

"a very bad lounge"

(China)

The international lounge in T3 was absolutely packed, with very few chairs available. The choice and quality of food and beverages was shockingly bad: all packaged cheap products and nothing fresh. No international newspaper or magazine whatsoever. Long queue for the toilets (3 in total in the men's toilet, to serve about 100/150 people in the lounge). Limited and incorrect information provided by the staff. A very bad lounge even by third-world standards.

"not even beer any more"

(Germany)

Air China International Business Lounge at Beijing Capital Airport Terminal 3 has for a few weeks been dry! The bar is closed, and not even beer any more in the coolers! Which is weird as you still can buy a can of Tsingtau beer at all the automatic machines around the terminal for 6 RMB. So if you are on transit and need to keep you level, better prepare some small change of RMB. And all the earlier bad reviews of the lounge here match my opinions.

"the worst business class lounge "

(Canada)

This Air China lounge at Beijing Airport Terminal 3 is always uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The washrooms are limited and smelly. The food is terrible and not to be gambled with. Cold drinks simply don't exist as the small fridges do not work. Leather seats are comfortable but the rest of the lounge has a grimy look. I peeked into one of the sleeper pods and would not dare even enter it. Announcements are tough to understand. I use this lounge 4 or 5 times a year and have before left it to find a cooler spot and get cold drinks at one of the cafes in the main terminal. This Air China lounge is quite possibly the worst business class lounge throughout Star Alliance.

"one of the worst airline lounges "

(Australia)

This Air China lounge at Shanghai Pudong Airport (used on a Thai Airways flight) is one of the worst airline lounges for a business class traveller. The food served lounge was so unappealing and the area messy. The whole upstair lounge looks like a canteen. Staff never greet you and never replenished food when empty. Coffee is lousy and bad quality. Men's toilet is dirty with wet floor and never cleaned. It seemed some people never know how to use urinals and the staff also do not bother to clean it.

"this lounge is simply awful!

(United Kingdom)

This lounge has not been updated or improved since it opened in 2008. As other reviews have said, it is dirty! The carpets have a greasy and dirty look, chairs are worn out and beware the fact that down the side of cushions is filth, crumbs etc. Staff have zero charisma, and very limited English language skills, their duty to check entry pass and nothing else. Inside the lounge, it is stifling and uncomfortable. Asked to take a shower and one look inside the filthy broom cupboard type facility and I abandoned that. Food available at lunchtime is best described as "slop". Not a westerner in sight who was risking a taste or consequence of it. Drink chillers (old small fridges) do not work, and any supposed cold drink is warm - water, coke, you name it. Guy cleaning the lavatories hangs around waiting for customers to tip him, not sure why since the toilets are dirty and unpleasant odours. To echo all others here, how Air China remains in Star Alliance is a complete mystery, and one can only assume that nobody from Star Alliance has visited this lounge in years. It is simply awful.
