| Air China Business Class Lounge at Beijing Airport, Terminal 3. I had a 4 hour layover here, and have to agree with other reviews - it was not a very pleasant experience. Busy, noisy and untidy. The seating was comfortable, and towards the evening, it got quieter, so was able to move to a less busy area. For an airline so big, the lounge capacity was so small. The dining was disappointing. Apart from a very small section of Chinese Dim Sum, the other food choices, it looked unappetising. There was plenty of beer, a few wine bottles, but no spirits to be seen. The toilets were a disgrace. I could not believe the toilet doors were so bad, there was about a centimetre gap between rickety old doors, and you could see the person inside the cubicle! The urinals were not clean. No shower facilities either. On my return flight, I had a 8 hour layover. I chose the Air China Transit Lounge (which you can book online). Even at 6.30 in the morning it was fairly crowded, with weary looking passengers huddled up trying to get some rest. I had requested a 'sleeping room', and got one almost immediately. But entering it I did not feel comfortable. There was a crushed pillow and duvet on the bed, and felt that someone had just moved out and the bed linen had not been changed. It was an old worn out room, with TV (local channels), table, stool and wash basin, with no towels or toiletries, but with a hair drier. I was tired but just could not lie on this bed and moved to the lounge area and rested there. Taking a shower, was not an enjoyable experience either. The floor was wet, bin had not been emptied, and the wash basin had not been cleaned either. The towel floor mat was dirty, but forced myself to shower just to freshen up. Soon after, I left that lounge and went back to the regular Business Class Lounge. There was hardly any room, as it was nearly lunch time. Crowds had arrived with a near stampede for food! Tables had to be shared. Leftovers were not cleared. Seating was either occupied or used for dumping hand luggage. Fed up, after a quick coffee, I left the lounge and found a quiet seating area far away, nearer my gate, and waited for my flight back. Both these lounges are badly maintained.
